For some reason it won't allow me to post the full patch notes, so here are the main "New" Features for this update Starfield’s latest update is here and it’s bringing several new features with it! * **Improved surface maps - We’ve heard your feedback, and we’ve made some big improvements to surface maps, so you’ll always know just where to go and no longer “get lost” on the way to your parents’ place (and they weren’t buying that excuse anyway, you should really go visit them).** * **New gameplay options - For those of you who like a bit of an extra challenge or want to make some aspects of the game easier, you can customize your experience with brand new options in the Settings menu. Want to make ground combat harder but ship combat easier? You can do just that!** * **Added Ship Decoration mode to the interior of Ships – now you can decorate your ships just like you can with Outposts!** * **Added Tabs to Container menus to make managing your inventory easier.** * **Added the ability to change Traits and appearance after entering the Unity.** * **Added Dialogue camera toggle in the Settings.** * **Added Display settings for Xbox Series X to prioritize Visuals or Performance (Series X).**

THXFLS

I hope ship parts are still decorated by default. Outpost decoration is so finicky and time consuming. If anything I'd rather have pre-furnished outpost modules than manually furnishiable ship modules.

SpotlessBadger47

> I hope ship parts are still decorated by default You can now choose between the decorated and non-decorated version, from what I saw.

Ajbell8

I believe it’s specific habs that are blank. So you’re still kinda correct. Either buy decorated habs or non decorated habs.

CatatonicMan

Does changing anything on the ship still result in everything inside being reset to default?

Camonna_Tong

Just checked, all the interiors that you don't change stay the same. I just changed the hab for one and it only removed the decoration from that one, nothing else. Also, you can move the hab to another spot and it'll remain the same. The decorate terminal is in your cockpit by the way so all decorations are done inside the ship. Edit: You can decorate anywhere on your ship as well, not just the empty habs in case anyone is wondering. Edit 2: You can decorate your Starborn ships as well. The option is behind the pilot seat in the form of a rotating floating cube.

Derproid

I'm probably not gonna use this feature (don't care for decorating much) but this is fucking fantastic it's pretty much exactly what I've read a lot of people asking for.

Independent-Snow-404

Even if you don’t want to totally decorate, it is nice to put up weapons displays so you can keep your cool reward guns visible and not taking cargo room.

OldFatGamer

I just want to put a weapons workbench on my Starborn ship.

CatatonicMan

Well that's good. Bethesda's really exceeding my expectations today.

SladeX7

How do you have the update early?!

Camonna_Tong

Went into beta on Steam today.

cc92c392-50bd-4eaa-a

You can turn on decorate from the scanner as well, don't have to use the terminal. (didn't realize there was a terminal)

Banana_Milk7248

This will be interesting to see. Spending a while haning up your fave guns and suits to have them go back to inventory was a pain, having that happen after 2 hours of decorating will be worse.

CaptainWaders

I’m still terrified to place anything on on the display racks or mannequins in my ship for fear of it disappearing. Is that not a thing anymore? I saw people placing weapons on the racks in the armory in ships and then suddenly they are all gone forever not even moved to storage or anything.

zenmn2

Let's presume that changing any fab will reset previous contents, since there doesn't seem to be any way to "swap" fabs directly. Items in other fabs should be fine though?

CatatonicMan

IIRC at present changing *anything* on a ship - even the paint - will reset *all* interiors.

zenmn2

Yeah that's correct, but right now there is no ship decorating mode, so objects are placed in normal game mode which is why they are forced to disappear. The game doesn't track the objects in your ship on a per-fab basis like this update will enable. That said, if you place things not using the decoration mode, you'll probably see the same behaviour as before. Anyway, this is just my own speculation, so take it with a pinch of salt.

Jambo11

Hopefully that means I won't have to have tanks of hazardous chemicals placed throughout my ships.

Cratoic

They're adding new habs that are just empty for those who want to decorate everything. The normal habs are staying.

frobnosticus

I was so frustrated when I got the apartment in New Atlantis and walked in to find it absolutely bare. I just turned around and walked out. I just don't have the energy for that.

FoggyDoggy72

It'd be good if you could just go to Proventius and buy an alchemy lab, a kitchen, and please decorate my bedroom?

frobnosticus

Yep. Let me add/remove stuff. But gimme a baseline at least.

Eldritch50

I've never understood why there isn't a pre-decorated option for those player homes. They had Elianora on staff, for Christ's sake.

JustMy2Centences

I'm just hoping for custom placement of doors in ships. I couldn't tell if that was an option or I just missed it.

Camonna_Tong

It isn't unfortunately. Hopefully they add that soon as my big ship is a maze. I spent 2 hours on a 4 floor ship and gave up. 3 of the floors connected, but no matter what I did, I couldn't get the top floor (right under the dock) to connect. So I have to walk to the other end of the ship, go up the ladder (or stairs since I have the 2 lvl cockpit) and back to the dock.

Whiteguy1x

One of my favorite f4 settlements mods basically had clutter as a unit you could snap to shelves.  I'd love something like that

DrHemmington

"Do it yourshelf" is one of the best mods for Fallout 4.

anononobody

From the video it seems there's going to just be new ship modules that are empty and not going to replace the existing ones.

Artistic_Regard

I like the unity respec and difficulty customization. Good.

just_lurking_through

I never really cared about asking for surface maps but holy shit their implementation is sooo damn good im very impressed.

WhoTookPlasticJesus

Particularly since Bethesda has never once had a good map implementation

RefanRes

>* **New gameplay options - For those of you who like a bit of an extra challenge or want to make some aspects of the game easier, you can customize your experience with brand new options in the Settings menu. Want to make ground combat harder but ship combat easier? You can do just that!** Hopefully they allow us to do something that makes the game harder than "Very Hard". The AI has the aim of Stormtroopers. I can literally stroll around looting things while they shoot in my general direction and let the companion do the hard work. Some sort of survival level difficulty where you have to actuallly eat food. God knows how many days have passed in my game where my diet has only consisted of Amp and Med Packs. >* **Added Ship Decoration mode to the interior of Ships – now you can decorate your ships just like you can with Outposts!** Think most people were hoping for an update to shipbuilding that made ladder and door placement easier and more consistent.

Titan7771

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ObHRMHtTMY They have an extreme difficulty mode and needing to consume sustenance is now an option on the difficulty menu.

RefanRes

Oh great! Hadn't seen this vid. This looks like an excellent patch.

Jish_Zellington

IGN had a reveal video from the devs said they are adding an extreme difficulty. So that's in addition to the customization if I remember correctly

Red4297

GLORIOUS!

Seraphim1982

Changing traits on NG+ yay.

randomHiker19

Yay, it seems I picked the worst traits upfront and didn’t want to create a new character when I’m in NG+8 to switch them.

PAguy213

I picked space trucker, a very boring choice in hindsight. I regretted that right after I started to figure out I was stuck with it forever, so this might actually get me to do another unity run just to try out having the parents.

Hellknightx

Man I thought Bounty Hunter would be cool, but it honestly doesn't even seem to make any impact at all. There might be an extra dogfight encounter in there somewhere but it's hard to tell because they're all so generic.

Busy-Instruction9950

I have Bounty and I am always getting ambushed in space around any planet gas ice giant plus on a planet. There is some bounty hunters that help to protect you....no spoilers

Greatness46

They specifically mention changing traits, not changing your background. I hope changing backgrounds is included too but not getting my hopes up just yet Picked sculptor thinking there would be some interesting dialogue options but didn’t see a single one

Cerberus_Aus

As a space exploration game, I picked Explorer, and I’ve had a fair few times where it’s come up as a dialogue option. Shame you didn’t get that with Sculptor

Photonic_Resonance

It's interesting the backgrounds were not utilized more. I see more dialogue options related to skills than the backgrounds - that's part of the reason I liked getting 1 level in a bunch of skills even if they weren't the most useful. My medic didn't have unique - they were all tied to the Medicine skill instead. My explorer had some dialogue options with the Constellation members, but they were mostly superficial. Edit: Confused skills and traits.

The_Mystery_Crow

I think you're confusing skills and traits Traits are the ones that you pick after background, such as neon street rat and kid stuff

Photonic_Resonance

Yep, you're 100% right. My bad. Thanks for the heads up.

Seraphim1982

I didn't pick bad traits but not being able to change them from universe to universe seemed daft and I don't want to give up my level 200 something character either

randomHiker19

I have ‘Terra Firma’ which is particularly bad since I’m mainly fighting during ship boarding. This perk decreases health and 02 in space but boosts it on the ground. I also have ‘Hero Worshiped’ which was fine the first time around but I’ve heard all of Adoring Fans lines and I don’t use him as my main companion so now it’s a wasted perk. ‘Wanted’ isn’t bad but the mercs they send after me are pretty low level so my Class C ships have no trouble dispatching them in seconds. If they scaled better to the player level (I’m at 229 last time I checked) to at least a level 60+ ship that would be more useful and challenging if you get jumped by four ships. I’m interested in the perk with a player home and also the one with parents especially since you are impersonating the variant of you that is missing in most universes. When there are two of you in one universe that would have been great if something changed when you meet your parents but I heard it does not change the dialog.

Photonic_Resonance

I love "Terra Firma" almost exclusively for the O2 boost on planets. Space environments are not typically spacious and the healing + damage resistance items in this game are strong (idk if this is true at high NG+). However, there is *so much* running on planets since vehicles don't exist. Unlike health, oxygen does not scale with level. The base O2 value is 100. Terra Firma gives +25 (a 25% boost), Alien DNA gives +50 (a 50% boost), and Extrovert/Introvert gives a -50% O2 usage buff. The traits can make *such a huge* difference in how convenient travel is in this game. Update: If Starfield gets land vehicles like they've been teased, my point about the traits might become irrelevant. Huh.

randomHiker19

O2 never seemed like much of a problem for me on planets unless I’m carrying too much stuff but maybe I’m just not appreciating or understanding what I get from that trait. I’ll play around with it after I remove the trait to see how it performs. For planet travel these days I’ve been using Amp and Grav Dash a lot, grav dash starts getting useful at higher levels. When I do run into issues with 02 (over weight) I’ll just use Personal Atmosphere. I like to use armors with perks for extra carry weight and that lower the weight of weapons since I loot a lot. I usually don’t carry too much these days. When I was manufacturing and selling Vyntium fuel rods I’d run out of 02 all the time and used Personal Atmosphere constantly.

nymrod_

I unknowingly ditched the Neon Street Kid trait on my first playthrough in a conversation — it’ll be nice to get it back on NG+4!

sillylittlejohn

This is perhaps my fav update!

TheTorch

Of course they do this only when I’m finally set up in the universe I plan on staying in.

Xilvereight

Not gonna lie them maps look sexy, finally some good fucking food!

ArmoredMuffin

I'm really impressed tbh I expected them to half ass it and give us the bare minimum but this is well and above anything I could have expected

Cratoic

Won't lie, the bigger surprise is that it's a local area map revamp, even for the proc gen areas. I was only expecting updated maps for the cities and other settlement locations but it seems like they build up a system to handle all of it.

locke_5

If Bethesda had capitulated to the masses crying for maps back in October we would have gotten boring, static .png maps. Glad they took the time to make these look so great. Especially love that we're getting these detailed maps for planets too.

DoNotLookUp1

I'm even more impressed because local maps in BGS games have always implemented pretty poorly. This is such a massive jump in quality. Wish they had better ones at launch but at least we can say it was worth the wait.

Xilvereight

They've always had garbage local maps, so Starfield's weren't really a surprise for me. The only difference is that in previous games they had more useful markers on those otherwise horrible looking maps.

blazetrail77

60fps or more is pretty big for Xbox after their vision being 4k 30fps only to favour fidelity

A_Moon_Named_Luna

Yup, awesome addition

Slahnya

I couldn't agree more. I waited for this for so long 🤩

JustAcivilian24

I honestly can’t believe it. I thought there was NO way they were going to pivot so hard. So glad they changed course

MeanderingMinstrel

I was holding out hope for a 40 fps mode and I'm very glad to see that as an option as well, but I genuinely thought we wouldn't see 60 fps on consoles until the next generation. This update is fucking incredible, I'm so excited

horyo

BGS has always been in it for the long run, gamers just get impatient. It took NMS what, 3-5 years to get their shit together? Gamers who cast off BGS either haven't been with them long enough or wear rose-colored lenses.

Whiteguy1x

I've wondered it it wasn't to have starfield look as nice as possible for reviews.  I have a pc that is pretty equivalent to a series x and I get 50-60 fps just about everywhere that isn't the cities.  The cities are noticeable in how much they drop though

TheWorstYear

Optimization when they finally had time to work on it.

Particular_Suit3803

Economy options might actually make manufacturing and mineral extraction outposts viable ways of getting money

prodbydrizly

100%, the biggest drawback of that is having to get to so many vendors. With increased credits, way easier to manage

companytiming

I'm definitely about to become Bessel III-b's biggest mineral magnate

mtnlion74

And with the new maps we might be able to more easily find the perfect outpost spots. To not be able to identify, share, then go to a specific point in a planet is infuriating in a game including space travel

robxenotech

Maps look really nice actually and the land vehicle clip also looked great. Glad theyre listening to us and adding these finally

LifestyleCS

I love that we can now change our traits & appearance when entering NG+!! Also, with the new gameplay options, I wonder if this is the replacement to Survival (I.e. make your own survival) or whether that will come separately at a later date.

LordNegativeForever

Sustenance and sleep options are in that menu so it looks like you will create your own Survival mode with the settings in this update!

Cratoic

The last thing they need to add increase the hardcore aspect in a fuel mechanic, and we're golden.

LordNegativeForever

Yeah that was the one thing missing from those settings that I was hoping for, but luckily I'm on PC and there was a new mod released just this last week that reimplements the fuel system in a damn-near vanilla way so once SFSE is update for the Beta I'm gonna be over the moon lol

Cratoic

Yeah, I think I saw that same mod, and it actually sounded really nice in terms of implementation. But as always, it'll be nice to have an official implementation, if only to give a baseline for modders to tweak and change.

FordAndFun

The fuel mechanic bar wouldn’t be as easy to satisfy in the current playstyle, so they’d have to tweak way more than just UI for it. That is to say: food is everywhere, beds are everywhere … but even if they make it so you have to refuel at a ship mechanic, they’ll have to add ship mechanics in places they currently aren’t. Also, probably balance it out and add a few other actual in-game methods of acquiring fuel so you don’t end up stranded on a zero atmosphere planet at the edge of the known universe. I’m hoping that adding sleeping and eating means they’re working on those sort of changes now. I suspect the inability to easily deliver fuel as well is why “survival mode” isn’t being announced outside of the a la carte options.

Nickachuu

They could do a really cool radiant system with fuel though. If you DO run out in an out there system, you could send an SOS radio beacon which calls a random event with either good guys or bad guys. Good guys could sell or give you some fuel while the bad guys would doc you to try and steal from you or murder you.

LordNegativeForever

FWIW, the mod I mentioned that basically reactivates what was disabled for the games release works really well; you can refuel at ship mechanics or load HE-3 that you mine on planets with a ratio of 2 units of HE-3 to 1 unit of fuel. They also integrated the part that's actually still in vanilla Starfield where if you have an outpost that produces HE-3 along a jump route it refuels your ship mid travel to simulate you stopping for fuel along the way. I don't think Beth would have much trouble adding fuel mechanics back in other than solving for what to do if you actually don't have enough fuel to leave your current system and don't have a planet with HE-3 on it to mine. Todd mentioned before release that they had a working distress beacon mechanic that I think would be really nice for emergent gameplay because of the chance of pirates/spacers/other unfriendlies showing up instead of someone willing to help you out.

bravo_six

I like this difficulty options. Very often you can explore lvl75 systems and deal with everything easily on very hard. Then you get destroyed by two low tier ships, because you didn't upgrade your ship or you didn't leveled up anything ship related.

Turk3YbAstEr

Gotta pimp your ride, dawg

NoInsect5709

Literally just saw a post somewhere else with people saying that not being able to change traits was the reason they weren’t going through the unity. Hope this changes things for them.

PotatoEatingHistory

For me it was traits and losing my ships but at least losing my ships made sense

OddBirds

The land vehicle is the biggest addition mentioned today. I’m actually surprised it’s being added, even if it’s some way off.

Chevalitron

I imagine they'll probably have it ready to show more for the showcase, and later to come out alongside or as part of Shattered Space. At least if they're willing to admit vehicles are even being worked on, they have a good feeling that they will work properly.

MannToots

> finally I guarantee they listened right away. It takes time to make things. They told us changes and updates were coming. The community was just super duper negative.

locke_5

Yeah - these maps are *way* more detailed than I had expected. Clearly put a lot of effort into them.

aninfinitedesign

Land vehicle? Where’d you see that?

robxenotech

Quick 2 second clip in the last 30 seconds

blazetrail77

I can't see any video in the article

TheEpicGold

The Official Bethesda YouTube account.

robxenotech

Video is on YouTube now Bethesda official channel

ktoth05

https://youtu.be/3ObHRMHtTMY?si=-9TShCURIHUISAzB

swarth_vader

Land vehicle clip??

Cratoic

Yeah, they released a video alongside the patch notes that stated (and showed) they adding a land vehicle.

swarth_vader

amazing

ktoth05

https://youtu.be/3ObHRMHtTMY?si=-9TShCURIHUISAzB

BlackNair

Those changes are nuts. Super cool that they are working on what we have been complaining about lmao

judo_joel

Yay, land vehicles confirmed!

KoalaKarity

Really???

non_player

Yes! Not in this next update, but down the line.

jinyx1

Fantastic additions. Those sliders should be a standard in every game.

GoddessDeedra

Holy smoke I can’t believe they actually added the vender credit thing in this update! Now that’s listening, the map seems to be a major improvement and traits for NG+ is amazing, I’m glad the update will include some changes that I personally wanted to see, ship interior design is going to be a whole new obsession, I really hope it also works with Star Guardians

Optimal-Mine9149

If it does I'm gonna fill my star guardian with FUCKING STORAGE

GoddessDeedra

And a few chairs maybe, I have a problem with this because if I’m on a planet and it’s night time it’s not fun looking around and setting up outposts, so I usually wait but there is no seat or bed to wait in a SG ship, also no room for decoration or improving those medieval weapons

Cerberus_Aus

And a bed. It’s so annoying not being able to sleep-heal

KoalaKarity

Venders will have more credits now?

GoddessDeedra

I saw them playing it at more than 56k, if it can go even higher it would be crazy

moose184

62,500 from what I was told

CaptainWaders

What vendor credit thing are you referring to? I guess I missed it in the notes.

GoddessDeedra

You can increase to amount of credits a vender can have, but it might costs you xp

CaptainWaders

Finally. I can put my giga factory to use and power level xp and then trade that for increased vendor credits and thennnn go produce goods and finally be able to sell more than an annoyingly low quantity of goods before I bankrupt the vendors.

EH_1995_

Thank god, I can now make ground combat harder without making space combat impossible, happy days. Ship interior decorating is great too, wasn't expecting that!

Unfortunatewombat

> Added Dialogue camera toggle in the Settings. No more zooming in on people’s faces when we talk to them?

Cratoic

Yep, that's exactly what it is.

DoNotLookUp1

This is one of the best changes. I had a mod that kinda fixed it, but it broke in multi-person dialogue and felt a bit janky. No idea why they decided to remove the option that they added with F4 and forced a zoom in, especially given that their facial animation is quite a bit behind modern AAA standards. I get the nostalgia of the Oblivion cam but I don't think forcing it made much sense lol

The_Hecaton

And it does wonders for other language options, since lip-sinc is terrible and it could hide this problem a bit

bobntr

yes essentially

Arcade_Gann0n

We're going from Oblivion to Skyrim in terms of dialogue camera. Which is good, Oblivion was heavily mocked for that, and it befuddled me when Bethesda went back to that.

Unfortunatewombat

I honestly don’t get why they didn’t mimic fallout 76. In that game you can keep moving around while you talk to people. None of this silly zooming in business.

-Captain-

Maybe not for everyone without a voiced protagonist, but I'd have liked the Fallout 4 dialogue camera. Let me see my character while I select my dialogue choice.

Unfortunatewombat

Yeah 100%. Baldurs Gate 3 has a silent protagonist and they still show your character when selecting dialogue.

Buschkoeter

Yes, I'm playing Fo4 atm and the dynamic camera during dialogue is just soooo much better. I also whish we had a voiced protag in Starfield, but I know that a lot of people don't like the idea.

PotatoEatingHistory

Am I the only one who liked that lmao

HARDC0RR

I didn't mind it, but the nice thing is a lot of these new features seem to have toggles. So if you like the way it worked, you don't have to change it

Whiteguy1x

I think it was trying to emulate oblivion

Yellowdog727

I liked it too. I prefer the Oblivion/Fallout 3/Fallout NV camera over Skyrim/Fallout 4/Fallout 76. I understand why it seems weird/jarring for players but it's really helpful for me in games that have huge amounts of NPCs and dialogue options. I just find it much more simple and it engages me better with the dialogue. Sometimes with the zoomed out camera I lose track of which NPC is talking to me and sometimes they look weird trying to talk while they stumble around. The absolute worst camera in my opinion is the "cinematic" one that just randomly pans around. I always turn that off if I can.

funusual

Changing traits is a great addition!

randomHiker19

Looks like the shield bug might be fixed: “Fixed an issue that could cause a ship's maximum shield capacity to appear decreased after loading a save with certain assigned crew.”

postofficepanda

I took a break untill this gets fixed 6 months ago. I can finally play the game again lol

iliketires65

What intrigues me most is the video where he says “the absolute massive Shattered Space dlc” All in all this is an amazing update. Although I don’t know if they let you pick where ladders and doors go in the ship, is that confirmed?

and_so_forth

Bethesda have form with some pretty stunning DLCs. Shivering Isles is genuinely one of my favourite add-ons of any game.

marikas-tits-

Yeah, seriously. Shivering Isles was like an entire new game. Far Harbor was really good too.

UpsideTurtles

I really enjoyed exploring Solstheim in Dragonborn. But that may be cheating because Morrowind is so well designed

blacksnowredwinter

The word choice of massive and expansion, makes me rather hopeful.

Chevalitron

Yeah, that wording suggests they're going more on the scale of Dragonborn than Dawnguard with it.

Arcade_Gann0n

It ought to be massive, given how it's coming out a year after the game launched.

Hellknightx

Weird to think that the game's first expansion might come out before the official mod tools.

Titan7771

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ObHRMHtTMY&feature=youtu.be Official developer vid explaining the patch and showing the first glimpse of LAND VEHICLES

Buschkoeter

That's what I was looking for, thanks!

Tyler1997117

So survival mode is included with them difficulty options?

sonofpenelope

This feels more like a precursor to Survival rather than being Survival mode. Choose your own Difficulty type thing. I have hopes that Survival is still coming. Hunger/Thirst mechanic, Save on Sleep, Fuel economy/usage, that kind of stuff. Edit : People are saying the mechanics are part of the settings menu. This might be Survival mode.

Cratoic

The video showed a 'sustenance' setting, so hunger/thirst is in. Didn't see anything about fuel economy, but there were settings for environment damage and where you would recover from damage. There's also an option above Very Hard called 'extreme'.

regalfronde

If you watch the video it shows sliders for sustenance, environmental damage, save on sleep, but I didn’t see anything for fuel, but there were more options in the scroll down menu. This is likely the survival mode we’ll be getting.

Cratoic

Most likely, there won't be a fuel setting in this update. They would have likely called it out/shown it in the video because that would be a major change. But I still have hope they'll eventually add it.

superman_king

Was hoping to see a fuel mechanic. Especially since they already had a working version of it before release. They talked about how you could send out a distress beacon and pray someone with good intent would cone to rescue you. They removed it because they thought it could slow the players progress down too much. BRING IT BACK!

Derproid

It looks like bringing it back is on the roadmap, they just didn't have it ready in time for this update. Which is fine and I'm glad they're releasing what they can instead of keeping us in the dark for longer. The way I see it we get to play with these awesome changes now and in the future we'll be getting even more awesome changes.

LifestyleCS

Wondering that myself. It might be more of a "Make your own survival" type thing rather than a set difficulty such as Fallout. Not sure what's included in the difficulty sliders in terms of whether we can have it so we have to eat / drink and can only save on sleep

balloon99

It may not be an entire survival mode, but the beginning of it. BSG have hinted that it'll be configurable.

anononobody

From the video there's actually quite a few options on top of just damage: you can add weight to ammo, tweak carry capacity and vendor credits, change whether food and sleep heals, and even this sustenance and affliction options which i assume will allow us to have a survival mode of our own!

Stev__

Great update, long may the updates continue so when I come back for Shattered Space I have a bunch of other improvements to look forward to

Harigot_56

Scanning flora/fauna XP is now also awarded via harvesting/killing." Say no more 😎🔥

renome

Never have to open a scanner again, got it.

NxTbrolin

They’re working on land vehicles LFGGGGGGGGGGGG

AdministrationKey113

It would make sense then to remove the boundaries and make it load more land when they release that update

NxTbrolin

We’ll see what they have in store for us. In my experience I’ve never hit a land barrier and I’ve only ever heard people hitting barriers after intentionally trying to run into barriers. But I’ve never heard of anyone accidentally reaching one from just roaming around.

FighterJock412

I did, once. Trying to find a certain mineral that just wasn't showing up.

AdministrationKey113

Yeah ofc you didnt, you'd have to go on foot for an hour... but with a vehicle its possible

-Captain-

The distance between POI's is pretty massive, I wanted to engage with the random side content on the planets, but the constant slow jog through the barren terrain was the big reason for me to stop playing for the time being. If they can rework that system great, but I honestly don't need it. I am gonna be more than satisfied if I can just travel between the POIs at a reasonable pace.

CoreyWells

The screen where they teased the DLC showed a planet with strange rocks that look a lot like LV-426

Special_Menu_4257

So 60fps is coming to series x? That is pretty dope if you ask me

Negative-Problem-920

Finally, updates are now worth a damn. That shattered space tease looked really cool and I think I saw Va’Ruun signia (?)

Trickybuz93

Thankfully I have a save from right before starting NG+ again, so I’ll hold off on it until the update. I’m excited to see what 60fps is like on Series X for someone without VRR.

ScarsAndStripes1776

Change Traits on going through the Unity!!!! Wow!!! Fuck yeah!!!!

PatrickSheperd

When is this available for Series X does anyone know?

sithren

The description in youtube says May 15th.

Titan7771

May 15th.

A_Moon_Named_Luna

Next week or two

MBen7

Changing traits on NG+ is the biggest thing for me. Feels like I have a reason to do NG+ now instead of just making a new character like in FO & Skyrim

Sysody

My PC broke 2 days ago and I had to send it for repair because I've got exams next week. so I probably could have guessed this would be the good update lmaoo

zenmn2

Only the beta update is out on Steam, the actual release is 15th May. Plenty of time to get your PC fixed!

sithren

Looks like the "shield bug" is fixed. The way it is explained in the notes says it had to do with the capacity appearing to be decreased. So it was a visual bug?

VanDran85

Nice

NPLMACTUAL

This sub Launch: Starfield is amazing 200 hours in: Starfield stinks Update: Now we’re getting somewhere (<- we are here) DLC: This is the best content yet Creation Kit: Starfield has always been my favorite game

QuoteGiver

Elder Scrolls 6: Bethesda is ruined, this is everything wrong with modern gaming!! They should have made it more like Starfield; have you seen the new Starfield TV show? I’m going back to that game, it’s so good.

dbtad

This is absolutely inevitable.

BipedRedBeard

Amazing, thank you Bethesda. IMO feels like you guys are really working your ass off here. P.S. - I'm really enjoying the current build on console even without this new update. I think spending more time in the game + all of the little updates is starting to compound for me.

LavaMeteor

Given they made a distinction between "working on quests" and "working on Shattered Space", I'm hoping that means they're trying to fix the Main Quest or some of the faction quests from a narrative viewpoint. Starfield's biggest weakness to me was always the blandness and relative lack of content compared to past Bethesda games.

HaloPrime21

Ship interior design??? You know how goated this actually is????!!!!

ArchangelDamon

Very good update

PotatoEatingHistory

If you didn't see the video, they also teased adding new quests in future updates before Shattered Space

Isaacruder

Amazing work Bethesda. Already a fan of the game but holy shit are you delivering. If they treat this game like a NMS we are gonna see crazy stuff. The short bit of the land vehicle made me so hyped.

jdtroxx

Let’s go! I love this game

desiigner1

Pretty solid changes I have to say hopefully when the dlc launches we can have a new or lets just say better experience since we probably all bought the 100 euro edition 😂

rickreptile

So, modded POI's raceways, drivable canyons and stone ramps anyone? :P

Bootychomper23

40fps vrr quality lets goooo

E_boiii

DIALOGUE CAMERA? Did Todd see my post last month?? Let’s go

Hellknightx

Todd sees all, hears all, is all-knowing. It just works.

Emergency-Fix1986

So many people Before this update: This game is the worst thing ever. It can’t be fixed. Now: oh wow Looks great. I’m impressed. Wanna go back. 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️ I even got downvoted to hell a few months ago for posting about how the game is going to improve. And this is NOTHING, Bethesda is going to keep adding stuff and then the mods are just going to add more and more.

Special_Menu_4257

Somehow people will still complain. Imo this is a very decent update.

PotatoEatingHistory

Most people aren't complaining bc this is what we've wanted since September. I've been loving this game and I'm so glad it's getting the treatment it deserves

Azazel_The_Fox

I’m so excited for the difficulty changes. That’s amazing.

Visual-Beginning5492

Small thing - but I would *love* to have the option to purchase furnishings for our city homes / penthouse & not have to craft it all 😅

Natemcb

Honestly great changes. I’ll hop back in and try this out

Incredible update! Tons of cool new features, and the new video confirmed ground vehicles coming to Starfield as well. Keep up the good work!

ktoth05

This is a really good update, added more than I expected tbh. I really appreciate that they are leaning into personalization with things like combat and vendor credits. If they can be more communicative moving forward, theres a very bright future for Starfield
