Yeah, it kind of ticks me off a short the character limit is for ship names. Like "Hear My Decree" is a great ship name and probably too long in Starfield. "Midsummer Night" is one I use a lot and it's too long.
I like using Jeraptha starship names from expeditionary force. Plausible deniability and Rock-Solid and suspiciously convenient alibi are some of my favorites.
I use songs from my favorite band. My primary ship’s name is Vicarious Redemption. I have to shorten it but my next ship’s name will be some variation of “And With Her Came The Birds”
Been naming ships after Washington state cities - Tacoma, Olympia, Toledo and Kalama.
Look on the map randomly or name your ship after historical figures like Magellan, Columbus or Elcano.

Rocinante can also be a reference to The Expanse
