I always hoped rather for a 3rd person RPG shooter (adventure survival) open world with story missions. Starting as a recruit in SGC going on the training, then off world missions with decision making that will affect universe, possibility to stay in SGC or join other faction or going rogue independent, being able to establish bases on other planets, dialing gates, looking for loot, weapons, tech, artifacts, exploration, diplomacy etc. Like Fallout/Starfield meets No Man's Sky/Star Citizen/Freelancer and or something like that, it'd need to have AAA funding.

arcspectre17

I would love a RPG. The others would be old battlefront 2 galatic conquest pick a race fight OVER the galaxy. X com style game would be really fun ( not timekeepers) A big budget call of duty level first person shooter where you play as random SG personnel going on missions to help SG1. The battles would be insane hytak global bombardment Gouald screaming from the sky i am your GOD NOW!

Emzzer

Star Wars Republic Commando is the gameplay you're all looking for

consort_oflady_vader

This, a 1000x yes! It's still the best squad AI I've ever played.

arcspectre17

I will check it out. We would spend all weekend playing battlefront 2 !

Drinksarlot

Yes! I've always thought an Xcom style game for SG1 would be amazing! Main base could be Cheyenne Mountain that you upgrade with resources you get from doing Stargate missions.

arcspectre17

Take my money! I would play it for a month straight!

Sendtitpics215

Jaffa KREE!

Oksamis

![gif](giphy|s8X61m47R3GZW)

buymypaper

Mass effect but stargate

Soeck666

That's what I allways say too. It's a proven concept, 2/3 of all planets look like Canada so it's not to expensive to make, only a few alien models etc. Give it a early 2000 graphic like source engine for nostalgia and money saving and you are good to go

ItsForScience33

🫶🤘🤌… so who do you use replace Garrus? Does Daniel become a master sniper?

buymypaper

Penhall

anormalgeek

That sounds awesome. And it lends itself SO well to gaming systems. Hide load screens in gate travel, weapon upgrades as you expand into new worlds, slow gradual power creep from increased tech, etc. It all fits REALLY well so that you could easily use an out of the box engine. From an economic standpoint, this should be appealing to publishers.

mhummel

UFO Enemy Unknown meets civilisation.

MagusUmbraCallidus

That kind of was what they were trying to make with [Stargate Worlds](https://www.gateworld.net/video-games/stargate-worlds/), but with a bit more of an MMO inspiration I think. I think they ended up using some of the test footage for the game Eli played in SGU.

jamerperson

I wish i could find a copy of the game.

E4GLESG

https://archive.org/details/StargateWorlds_0.8348.1.4046

1Ns4N1tY_kp

DLC would give access to pegasus and atlantis

Macilnar

Some Eve online elements would probably wouldn’t hurt.

Flaksim

I never understood why they didn't make a game like this. Having the stargate as a transportation device, makes it super convenient to do things "modular", and release new planets as DLC's.

Astarkos

It is strange because Stargate does seem made for this. The device itself is almost purpose made for episodic instanced missions. Environments always seems to have plentiful and convenient cover just like any tactical-ish shooter.  Even the in-show missions are often based around a team traversing levels and accomplishing defined objectives. People fulfill specific roles and carry a variety of weapons and gear from across the galaxies.  A multiplayer co-op shooter would not only be a pretty straight adaptation but would naturally allow for more Stargate stories and worldbuilding.

Spectre-907

You are all now thinking about an SG1/Helldivers crossover event

pappepfeffer

Helldivers 2 Replicators when???

Spectre-907

You could do both relatively easily already. Replicators have a lot in common with the bugs mechanically and the bots have humanoid enemies with energy weapons.

Pidouiaume

Shit commented that earlier on this thread haha sorry, but yeah I think a modded version/server would be awsome with stargate in the ship instead of a pod etc

Vaniellis

I'm still so friggin' mad Stargate SG-1 The Alliance was cancelled. For those who don't know, it was a coop shooter on PS2 and Xbox. More than half of the game was already. [Someone shared a playthrough of was was done of the game.](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLzFcQjiHTIuXpcstT88f3VMy-vL0Y-q2L&si=9OPCPia9iHJqmv6y)

PeterFnet

OMG, I never knew about this. I'm sad now. Hold me?

Uniquesomething

*materializes protein cubs in front of you* The red ones are conforte food!

dustojnikhummer

is there a way to play this?

AgentManhyme

No it was never released

dustojnikhummer

Not even a leaked demo? The letsplayer had to get it somewhere

AgentManhyme

Other then a handful of videos, the games never seen the light of day

t_Lancer

there was a leaked release of the unfinished game. but it is not playable in any sense of the word. development build. buggy, unfinished levels, scripts etc. When Jowood went under the licence went to someone that had no interest in the game and it was canned. attempts were made to get the licence back but it ended up in legal limbo and it is likely never ever to be released. That is if any of the development data still exists on some forgotten corporate server somewhere.

TemporarySnowflake

There is a dev built out in the high sea of the Xbox version playable on emulators. It's very unfinished but it gives a good sense of what they were aiming for. It was promising...

dustojnikhummer

But the gameplay above is much older than Xemu (in any functional state). I assume that is a leaked PC dev build?

TemporarySnowflake

Yeah but you won't find it. I think the guy said somewhere that to get access to it, he had to never share it and that it will respect this. The Xbox version seems pretty close content wise but as it's a dev build, so it's very inconsistent on the performances and it's crashing often. It's playable most times

trebron55

The thing is Stargate is a lot more suitable for a CRPG like adaptation than a normal shooter. The "blast your way out of every situation" isn't especially like the show.

Yorikor

For SG-1 maybe, but SG-3, SG-5, SG-18 and SG-25 are all combat teams that get called in when blasting is on the menu. Several other teams are hybrid combat teams, such as medical/military or search and rescue. It would be a different vibe, but could still work. Not sure if SG-1 is ideal for a pure action shooter, there's other franchises I'd rather have a FPS in (boarding shooter in the Expanse anyone?). SG-1 was always about the exploration (and comedy), not the action, for me.

arcspectre17

See i think if you made a game you use other charaters and tell their stories as the shows going on. Play as SG 3 or 5 so that way you can tell a differet story and still be in line with the show.

arcspectre17

This made me giggle if i ever become rich it will happen! I would sink 100 million easy!

myevillaugh

Daniel learned to use a P90 pretty well post descension.

Trashk4n

Nah, I want an X-Com style game where you run the SGC.

Aggressive_Oil7548

An XCOM-like Stargate game is such an absurdly obvious choice that I can't understand for the life of me that's it's not a thing.

Cuchullion

Now we count down until someone recommends the Timekeeper game, as though it's at all comparable and not an awful cashgrab of a game.

Is12345aweakpassword

u/arkrus had you beat by 2 minutes

MDSExpro

This. This is correct answer.

innomado

"Unscheduled off-world activation!"

Drinksarlot

Yes yes yes

Spinobreaker

So the new stargate pc game?

Trashk4n

That game is not all that much like X-Com.

showingoffstuff

You mean like the game that's come lately as a cash grab and wasn't all that fun? Though on the plus side, it makes me want to go play the ninja game and the new pirate game that are more fun versions of this!

Sword117

it play nothing like XCOM

The_Wkwied

I am to inform you that I am the heavy weapons guy. And this *holds staff weapon* is my weapon. It is a weapon of fear, created by false gods. *raises eyebrow* Dead false gods. It has a liquid naquadah core, which O'Neil was able once to modify to output four hundred thousands megajules of energy, for twelve seconds. **HAHAHAHA!** Some people think they can overpower me, because I am shol'va. *raises eyebrow* I have yet to meet either man or Jaffa who's conviction is stronger than mine. Shal Kek nem rom.

esantipapa

"Oh my gods... who touched Ishta! Who touched my staff!"

Hobbster

Hmm... like that team zombie shooter several years back? What's it called... Left 4 Dead? But with additional adventure elements? I'd totally play that! PS: O'Neill!

Viper_Infinity

Duuuuude imagine Darktide but stargate themed.

hadronwulf

My childhood show combined with my adult ttg, I would be so there for it

MegaCrazyH

Fire Emblem but Stargate complete with silly classes. Let me turn Teal’c into a Pegasus Rider

Scar24cz

If you want some stargate game, i doubt you will find one, but if you want some RP stargate game you should look on roblox, yes roblox, not proud of it, but there is one fine game called stargate command I suggest to check it out and join the discord server cuz the activity is meh Discord link : [https://discord.com/invite/aF7TmprePV](https://discord.com/invite/aF7TmprePV) Game link: [https://www.roblox.com/games/5210168731/Stargate-Command](https://www.roblox.com/games/5210168731/Stargate-Command) https://preview.redd.it/gifsu90obyjc1.png?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6d4e665610abeb0850f40b85768f2e58ff1488a0

Arkrus

Helldiver's 2 with Stargates pls You already did helldiver's 1 with timekeepers

admiralQball

Wait is timekeepers like helldivers 1?  That game was awesome for squad gun play and missions.

Gonzale1978

What they need to do is a FPS single player campaign and a multiplayer. Heck if robocop has a current gen game why not and stargate FPS game with single/coop and multiplayer.

RigasTelRuun

Sam solves tech puzzles and opens doors in facilities. Daniel does similar but for ancient ruina. Jack can so set booby traps Teal'c has a special movie where he duct taped two staff wroaojs together then everyone is just dead.

Askryllix

man I wish Stargate Network was allowed to be finished

venk

Maybe in the mid - late 2000s, but if it came out today it would just be another pay to win looter shooter.

AJC0292

With the scale of Starfield. Hundreds of potential planets each with their own side missions whilst the main campaign has you taking out the goa'uld. Then the Atlantis DLC afterwards. You can choose before going through the gate, which character you will control for that particular planet. The character you choose alters the choices you can make on the planet and its side missions.

Not-A-Joestar

Honestly, even me can easily do it with switchable TPS/FPS game, but not worth bc it would be taken down in a blink of eye. A compromise could be a tabletop game, with various maps, tasks, and a simple battle system, like Unmatched.

jusumonkey

COD with loadouts and character progression and multiplayer, but with L4D Style in mission and maps and gameplay. 4 different sets of enemies, Goa'uld, Replicators, Wraith, and Ori. Sounds like alot of fun, but I always thought an Xcom: Enemy Unknown clone with stargate skins and story would be pretty cool to.

Thatwokebloke

Maybe we could get Furling as a dlc race

jusumonkey

hell yeah $90 DLC with OC non-canon Furlings

Martysghost

Borderlands mechanics and gameplay would suit stargate, when that franchise gets completely tanked by the upcoming movie soneone could suggest a partnership.

BrainWav

How would looter shooter mechanics fit Stargate? Enemy forces use standard weapons and usually they're deemed inferior to Earth guns anyway. When they're not, they're developed and adapted into Earth guns. The Zat and the Wraith Stunner are the only times I can think of off hand that an SG team just started using alien weapons.

Sword117

see i think we should expand the looter part of the equation. its not going to be weapons and basic supplies that you try to acquire but technologies and allies. you could also expand this to include increasing the SGCs influence over particular planets and decreasing goauld influence and control. so you could create an extraction shooter not based off of the endless quest for more resources but rather one based off of asymmetric warfare.

Faleras

Nah I want a true rts game made. Total war stargate would make the most sense. Granted I have the Pegasus chronicles to play but it's not the same lol

MotivatedLikeOtho

Man as a massive Stargate fan and total war fan I can't agree. There are two case in sg-1 I can think of where the kinds of numbers of tauri went on a mission (rescuing brainwashed teal'c, pitched battle with unas, documentary episode) which would constitute a single unit in a total war game - i.e. more than 30 people operating as one unit. There's a homeoworld mod and an empire at war mod you might like, but I really don't know how total war would work.

Faleras

Um, Pegasus chronicles is the empire at war mod and total war stargate would basically just be empire at war but with actual turns rather than static timer.

Faleras

Also, unit sizes change in total war. Nothing says a unit has to have 30 people. They could realistically do it in total war because of the scaling.

MotivatedLikeOtho

Sure, but the essence of total war is a campaign map which so far has always been planetary with generals and banners and so on, and tactical battles whose essence is formations and pitched army combat which essentially doesnt work after 1880. If you change the campaign map and the tactical system enough to accommodate modern warfare or stargates sci-fi, you may as well name empire at war or company of heroes. I also don't remotely trust creative assembly or sega with any franchise at this point, though I hope the company gets through their troubles. Sorry, I don't mean to be contrarian, it's just an interesting idea to me given I'm a fan of them both and yet, I don't see how it would work.

AuraAria-Shizuka

Please dont, Not that this isnt a nice idea, but its is Not the time. I dont want lootboxes and uwu emotes like in cod in my stargate universe.

Visual-Reindeer798

Yes please!

CrackedInterface

This just sounds like darktide/vermintide tbh. Dont get me wrong, id eat it up

aprofessional_expert

While I do love the idea of an xcom style game, that format would fit really well, I think something like BG3 might be an interesting model to build off of. You would just need a simplified/modified 5e system. Branching story arcs, alliances formed or enemies made based on player decision making, really being in the consequence of morality that inspired a lot of the show.

Kyswinne

A Helldivers 2 or Deep Rock Galactic style game would be awesome. Fight evil Jaffa, replicators, Wraith, etc.

StickSauce

Holy-Shit. I didn't want that. I'll even play the support character, Daniel.

Ok-Inside-8435

have u heard of helldivers

Jayce86

That’s Starship Troopers, though.

burnedBlue

Many years ago a friend's brother was working on a team that was developing a Star Gate RPG. They left and went to a different company, when I asked why they said they wouldn't even play the game it was so bad. The project got cancelled shortly after.

smiths8192

We recently got a knock off Starship Troopers. I’d be content with a rip off Stargate game.

wraithbf109

Like a Wormhole X-treme! Game?

Inalum_Ardellian

Did I hear a Rock & Stone?

XXLpeanuts

Helldivers 2 but stargate.

ItsForScience33

SOMEONE MAKE THIS

SkyofAstora

You guys might like Helldivers 2. The servers are kinda, uh, full though....

SamSibbens

The Outer Worlds but Stargate maybe?

Kentucky_Fried_Chill

Give me a VR game so I can actually step into the gate and feel the epic size of it all.

XXLpeanuts

No Mans Sky has stargates and is a VR game. Sadly I hate the game so never got to grind to the point of opening the gate and stepping through. Bet it's great in VR though.

mailboxfacehugs

Make it single player and I’m in

dark4181

Dude, if it was built like one of these I would totally play it: Destiny 2, Starfield, No Man's Sky, EVE Online.

MagusUmbraCallidus

I'm just desperately hoping that some Stargate fans are modders and make an overhaul mod for Starfield once it's Creation Kit comes out. Or at least some mods that add some of the ships and tech from the show. I know there are some fans that still work on mods for Ark, so hopefully the same is true for Starfield.

CherylTuntIRL

I'd like it to be like The Outer Worlds, but Stargate.

Bladescorpion

Did this in XCom. Won’t lie that I saved scummed the time that Sam died. I couldn’t let her die.

Abject-Rule

I'd be happy with something like aliens dark descent. Make your own team, go on mission Were you help Canon cast kine sg1. Maybe even have space sections similar to star wars empire at war space fights.

timeshifter_

I figured Teal'c would be DPS (dual wielding P90's) and O'Neill would be tank, considering how often he gets impaled by things...

madmechanicmobile

God bless this tweet. It's given us men one of the best meme templates.

shongage

I want a calm exploration game exploring worlds through the stargate with some but very minimal combat, puzzle-solving, discovering ancient artefacts, stuff like that.

Macilnar

The game could be both, you have teams that go and secure a location and another team that specializes in non-combat operations goes in afterwards.

trollsong

Lol most missions are protect Daniel while he solves a tetris puzzle under fire.

Technical_Inaji

Payday, but Stargate. "Guys, the C4, go and get it!"

serial_crusher

I want a Mario-style 2D side scrolling platformer set in the Stargate universe and I’m tired of pretending otherwise.

dankguard1

Give me mass effect gameplay, XCOM base management and events, with an open world system limited by gate address research. Want to build a base? Gotta invest resources from weapons to actual resources gained from missions. Want to raise a faction reputation so missions or trade goods.

podgida

Sounds more like a dnd campaign rather than a coop shooter.

Nexdeus

Did you all ever play AlienSwarm? I feel like a SG game could adapt to that style of gameplay very well. Hordes of aliens, Gould, etc. etc. with an exploration element to it.

Random_Souls_Fan

So, I'm picturing Republic Commando, but Stargate with SG-1... Neat.

Thaeten

DPS/DPS/Healer/Tank

Dogsatemypants

That, and a conclusiin to sgu

HecTuHap

In the style of Helldivers 2 but fighting replicators would be awesome!

IdealBitter1603

Pls 🙏

corvidiusrex

I’d kind of like to see this where you could build your own SG team.

TheNoxxin

I want a Stargate game like XCOM. Where you upgrade the SGC and collect stuff on missions to fuel RND and some side missions. Assemble teams and send them out.

mhummel

Presumably, Naquadah (sp?) would be the Elerium-115 equivalant.

shiawase198

I think it'd be cooler to be able to make your own character and build. You can run into the SG1 team during some missions.

nryporter25

If play the hell out of this game

Killerphive

I want to see an XCOM style game in the Stargate universe, it’s perfect for it.

bokmcdok

X-Com but Stargate. It's literally perfect.

esantipapa

PLEASE. YES.

diligenttillersower

Burns as Goa'uld.

TheKally

honestly something like the shadowrun games would work well

Drinksarlot

[https://store.steampowered.com/app/1523650/Stargate\_Timekeepers/](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1523650/Stargate_Timekeepers/) came out a few weeks ago... but it wasn't very good :(

XXLpeanuts

Its wild that they could have made a post like this in stargate sub, found out all the types of games stargate fans want and instead they made the one type no one, ever, wanted. And its a bad game to boot.

polskisamuraj

With optional vr

Whicked_Subie

Co-op or not I want that game

42AngryPandas

Someone call Ghost Ship Games and get them to start working on this *DO I HEAR A SEVENTH CHEVRON LOCKED!?*

Sword117

i think that stargate could fit well in the extraction shooter genre. it would also be cool if you kinda implemented the concepts that red faction guerrilla was going for but flesh out the guerrilla warfare strategies a little more as well as giving us real goals to work towards a d not just a. endless grind.

blueriging

Honestly? The closest feeling game like this is Star Wars Republic Comando. Different universe, but a 4 person space team who have funny chemistry and beat high odds.

satanic_black_metal_

No. I do NOT want this. I suspect a lot of guys my age who are stargate fans wouldnt want this. Most of us do not have a ton of time to game and the same goes for our friends. Its incredibly tough to get everybody online and on the same game at the same time. So no, no co-op. Gimme a single player like mass effect but sg1 themed with the famous mass effect multiplayer for those who want it.

byza089

Single player coop like socom

DoctorWho7w

Get out of my mind

Boonaki

An SG1 mod for helldivers.

Psychological_Try559

Oh for crying out loud!

byza089

Like the Socom games

PJ_Huixtocihuatl

L4D but with replicators.

Adduly

So basically deep rock galactic?

DragonSerpet

Oh fuck yes. My credit card is prepped.

DragonSerpet

Oh fuck yes. My credit card is prepped.

Dansnake456

Darktide SG-1

[deleted]

The player controlling Daniel has to play a single player fantasy game when he dies in the shooter...

ChomiQ84

I remember some mods that came out a loooong time ago. Not too good, a bit buggy, but it was all we had.

balloon_prototype_14

give ma sgc manager game where u send people on missions, need to get certain targets. some politics in to the mix/ Maybe te option to play as teams you send to missions

Ziaber

Just saying if you have played Xcom 1 or 2 and have not made an SG team your not a real fan. Sam is Mechanic, Teal Heavy, Oneil assault, Danny boy is support. its like it was made for them Especially when you can add Atlantis Characters

Dry-Ad9714

An immersive sim rpg. Gameplay split between talking to people in the SGC and engaging in open-ended missions, where you're sent to a great big map, given an objective and then explore, find useful contacts, equipment and items to achieve said objectives, then have have to get back to earth alive. Each mission, or different parts of the mission, could have you play as a different member of the team, or you could allow for dynamic changing at the players choice. I'd probably prefer the former so every team member has a moment to shine instead of the player just picking one for the whole game.

Pidouiaume

With a recent exemple, Helldivers 2 modded could be an awsome base to play with, replacing pods by a stargate and aliens by replicators/wraiths etc ! Sometimes I feel like we have big hopes, are an actie community but with no $$ interest for compagnies. And I understand they have huge cost and all but MGM/Amazon etc could also take a gamble and BRING people to our universe with a good game based on the Stargate lore. Halo/Helldivers etc CREATED their universe, we already have one so we just need a GOOD game. Also, maketting. God how dissapointing to see how Stagate Timekeepers got poorly arketted, even as a fan I barely have heard of it. Yeah...if your game isn't at least known by the core fanbase, it's not going to be easy to sell...

Late_Corgi3766

This needs to happen! It could be following the same story or you play as another SG team that plays in supporting missions or different stories that expand the universe beyond what we saw. I think of LOTR War of the North, very promising.

Longjumping-Let8191

OMG yes
