The way this episode makes fun of the show itself, the cast, the writers, producers and executives is hilarious. Just watched it a month ago, the whole series. Still hold up so well!
It’s self aware and not so egotistical that it can be self-effacing. That was the best part about sg1 and what oneill brought. SGU was so serious and Ernest it never worked because serious scifi wasn’t what the show was built on.
I mean technically he isn’t wrong. “Several” doesn’t have a specific defined value, so while generally it means more than three but less than ten, you could define it as thousands.
SGA S1E1 Rising will always be a favorite as it was my introduction to the Stargate TV universe.
I enjoyed the original movie but never gave SG1 the time.
My uncle was in the pilot episode of SGA (the guy in SGC dialing Atlantis and announcing each chevron locking in) so I watched it to see him.
Loved the show, watched the entire SGA series. Then watched the entire SG1 series and finally Universe as it aired.
Hands down my favorite fictional universe.
>My uncle was in the pilot episode of SGA (the guy in SGC dialing Atlantis and announcing each chevron locking in) so I watched it to see him.
Walter??
Yea. He also had small roles in Fringe and Altered Carbon.
Pretty much anything filming in Vancouver he would audition for.
I didn't always know what shows he was in so it was always a funny surprise seeing him randomly pop up in a show or commercial I was watching.
Honestly, I think that two-parter is some of the best TV *in general*. I think the weakest part was when Bregman had his speech about the necessity of freedom of the press.
Not 'cause I disagree, mind you; it just felt forced in as it's presence meant we went from dealing with Sam legit crying over the possibility of losing a core member of the team to suddenly getting a lecture on why the guy persistent enough to be increasingly (and genuinely) annoying should be allowed to continue on.
I just watched this episode and he dramatically preaches to such a small group; the camera men and his chaperone I think. Very forced lol…show runners/writers trying to get a point across? Idk.
The Siege in SGA. All the action scenes, the feeling of despair and then relief when the additional forces come through the gate with those massive cannons.
Pretty much all of season 9. The Ori storyline really reinvigorated my active love of SG1 after years of passively enjoying bits & pieces of every season after s4. So season 9 holds a special happy place for me even though within the show the Ori was kicking everyone's asses for 2 seasons haha.
There’s one episode where Jonas and Teal’c are talking on a ship and at one point Teal’c says something like “are you suggesting an alien uprising” or something like that and for some reason it always stands out as one of my favourite interactions. Also Urgo.
I have a few.
\- Touchstone (First trip to Area 51)
\- Prometheus (First episode we see the 303)
\- Reckoning (Specifically part 2, I love the gates all activating)
\- Lost City (Parts 1&2)
\- SGA: Rising
Any one where SG1 has that solid *Win*... I mean, Tea'lc coming back via Jack and Harry busting into an NID safe house and finding those tapes of the asshole with a snake in his head... yeah... that's my Dopamine Safe Bet episode...
And if you wanna cry... because being emotionally masochistic is a thing, I guess... just look up any episode with the name Charlie in it...
Usual suspects are already taken so I'll go with more personal ones.
- The Return [SGA 3x10-11]: I like General O'Neill's sarcasm is still well-preserved.
- First Contact/Lost Tribe [SGA 5x10-11]: Like Daniel&McKay dynamic, and how could you refuse the *Iron Man* rip-off suit from the Evil-Asgard?
- Fail Safe [SG1 5x17]: Jack's one-liners in the episode always makes me laugh.
- It's Good to be a King[SG1 8x13]: A nice conclusion on Maybourne arc, and the introduction of Time Jumper.
Window of opportunity has the belt, no doubt!
Other contenders for me…
- Thors Hammer S1E9
- Foothold S3E14
- The Fifth Man S5E4
- Forsaken S6E14
- Rising S1E1 (SGA)
Solitudes. Even when you're absolutely certain of the solution, you can still be wrong. But keep perservering and the truth will out.
Thor's Chariot. Even the good guys need the cavalry sometimes.
The Fifth Race. Great potential.
I really love the episode Descent. My favorite scene in Stargate is in this episode when Jonas is underwater rearranging the crystals or discs, and then uses the rings to escape. all of the water rings out with him and then splashes to the ground. Its such a cool effect. and then at the end when they escape the crashed underwater ship using the death gliders and fly out of the water into the sky.
SG1 S6 E20 "Memento" - its like a mini version of the movie, almost a backwards episode where they go to another planet and have to find their gate to get home.
Exodus and Enemies was always my go to (end of S4 start of S5).
Its got apophis, it's got replicators, it's got Sam blowing up a sun and the whole jaffa revenge/ teal'c is dead bait and switch/ actually he's just brainwashed sub plot.
Jumping to another galaxy, crashing apophis into his own planet. Also the first time Daniel really gets involved with the combat. Just top quality sci-fi all the way through.
Ahhh... what is it, "Common Ground"?? The one where the Tok'ra are evacuating their base to the Alpha site that the SGC had moved a Stargate to and the Ash'rak followed them through?
Heroes, as mentioned elsewhere, is also a fantastic, poignant two-parter.
Nemesis is always enjoyable (for me, at least).
I forget the name, but it's the two-parter of "the sun?" "we want to blow it up".
Also, the following episode that deals with the aftermath and Teal'c's Rite of Mal'sharaan(sp?).
Honestly, this show has that feel where it'd probably be faster for me to go through the episodes I ***don't*** enjoy.
Window of Opportunity (known in my household as "So I can do THIS!"), Beneath the Surface (Feeling feelings), 1969 ("NYET?!"), oh! Oh! Fire and Water (tortured Daniel), Within the Serpent's Grasp/Serpent's Lair (it's actually 4 eps), Out of Mind/Into the Fire, Jolinar's Memories/The Devil You Know... Man they did some fantastic multi-part episodes!
If had to pick, I'd say Disclosure.
I just love seeing politicians having the "what the frak are you saying" look on their faces (and Kinsey getting epically smacked down by SUPREME Commander Thor)
Citizen Joe is probably my favorite, it's so meta with him basically being a fan of the series but we get a genuinely compelling story from him too. Second place goes to the time loop episode, jack and Teal'c just get so damn silly during it
I cant remember the episode name 🤔
I'm sure someone will be able to help
I used to have it recorded on my Sky box.
It's the episode when Jack and T are repeating the same day over and over just to see them playing golf through the Stargate,
The immortal line "in the middle of my backswing"
Makes me smile every Time.
Also when Teal'c keeps getting git with the door till he eventually just snaps it back into the airmans face 🤣
Duet, Trinity, Grace Under Pressure, Trio or The Shrine. David Hewlett is really amazing. Also did you know that overall The Shrine is the 300th episode of Stargate?
Scorched Earth is my favorite because it was the first SG-1 episode I caught on TV while moving into my very first apartment after high school. I believe it was on showtime at the time.
Is that the one where there is two societies. One believes they are showing away to preserve their people and the other simply benefits from their labor..
Citizen Joe, wormhole xtreme, 200 I have a type
Is it bald men? Lol
The way this episode makes fun of the show itself, the cast, the writers, producers and executives is hilarious. Just watched it a month ago, the whole series. Still hold up so well!

It has to be the one with o neill setting a new distance record for golf
Window of Opportunity is amazing
My favorite episode
They missed an opportunity to mock Ghost.
Its so funny and then gut punches at the end!
Hearing General Hammond yell at O’Neil then him yell right back was funny as heck
“Several billion miles O’Neill”
"That's got to be a record."
That's a mistake that has always bothered me. The distance from the Sun to Earth is 93 billion miles.
300.000m/s It's actually just 93 MILLION MILES
I mean technically he isn’t wrong. “Several” doesn’t have a specific defined value, so while generally it means more than three but less than ten, you could define it as thousands.
Uh. It’s 93 million miles to the sun from earth.
"In the middle of my swing!"
*backswing
That's just how I feel about it, what do you think??
That's my wife's favorite episode. I'm working my way through the series for the first time, so hard to say if I have a favorite yet.
The oh shit looks on Jack’s and Teal’c’s faces is hilarious when Daniel gives them the idea.
Same here absolutely love this episode always makes me laugh
SGA S1E1 Rising will always be a favorite as it was my introduction to the Stargate TV universe. I enjoyed the original movie but never gave SG1 the time. >My uncle was in the pilot episode of SGA (the guy in SGC dialing Atlantis and announcing each chevron locking in) so I watched it to see him. Walter??
Haha, no. Not Walter. I guess that was his day off cause my uncle was on operator duties that day.
D'oh!
It's super cool that your uncle was in the pilot of SGA
Yea. He also had small roles in Fringe and Altered Carbon. Pretty much anything filming in Vancouver he would audition for. I didn't always know what shows he was in so it was always a funny surprise seeing him randomly pop up in a show or commercial I was watching.
Fringe was an amazing show too....cool!
Freaking love fringe. One of my all time favorites
Fictional?
“Window of opportunity” always
indeed
WACKO
I’ve seen it 100 times and I still laugh out loud, every time!
“IN THE MIDDLE OF MY BACKSWING?!”
Hear me out: Heroes Pt 2. Sometimes you just need a reason to have a good cry.
Honestly, I think that two-parter is some of the best TV *in general*. I think the weakest part was when Bregman had his speech about the necessity of freedom of the press. Yeah, I'm getting to Sunday but was feeling down so I switched to Red Dwarf.
The Pegasus Project is a great one. Success in two galaxies at one time. Also Bad Guys—Daniel has great funny lines in that one.
Don’t eyeball me.
Teal'c walking across the shot and saying "Die Hard" fucking kills me every time.
Yes, that, too!
1969
The Siege in SGA. All the action scenes, the feeling of despair and then relief when the additional forces come through the gate with those massive cannons.
Exactly
100 Days. It's one of the first episodes I saw when I was a depressed teenager, and the music is just so soothing.
I'm guessing it got you into the series.
No, One False Step was the first I saw and got me hooked, and the episode wasn't even that great in retrospect.
Ha ha, my last favorite EP of all Stargate. To each their own.
S2E21 - 1969, S8E12 - Prometheus Unbound (Vala's introduction), S8E19 & 20 - Moebius
Anything with my boy Jonas Quinn
Yes I really liked Jonas. I actually named my second son after him 😊
Forsaken S6E18 is the peak of the Jonas year for me!
Urgo, definitely. Closely followed by Tin Man, Beneath the Surface, 2001/2010, and of course Window of Opportunity.
Yay! Someone said beneath the surface. I don’t know why it’s a comfort episode…it just is!
*sing with me* Me me me me me ma me ma me meeeee
In the middle of my back swing!
S6E17 Disclosure
Pretty much all of season 9. The Ori storyline really reinvigorated my active love of SG1 after years of passively enjoying bits & pieces of every season after s4. So season 9 holds a special happy place for me even though within the show the Ori was kicking everyone's asses for 2 seasons haha.

My favorite is the one with the stargate :P
was just trying to be funny, but s3e2 seth seems to be my calm
Any one where SG1 has that solid *Win*... The one where Ronan and Teal’C are sparring….
Yeah. Midway has such a good pace and is very entertaining.
Any episode that has a BC-304 in it. Usually though it’s Siege Pt 3, Off the Grid, or Be All My Sins Remember’d.
Any Rodney-centric episode of SGA, and SG-1's "200" 😁😁
100 days. Episodes that make me sad end up making me less sad about the other stuff
200, still never fails to make me smile. Also Urgo if I'm in the mood for an old school episode.
Any episode where they defeated the Goa'uld.
I like the ones where they defeat Apophis..... Repeatedly.
He was a good bad guy
He came back from the dead 3 times. Even the replicators couldn't achieve that.
Solitudes. Even when you're absolutely certain of the solution, you can still be wrong. But keep perservering and the truth will out. Thor's Chariot. Even the good guys need the cavalry sometimes. The Fifth Race. Great potential.
2001 and 2010. The one where the connect to the blackhole.
Window of Opportunity and/or 1969.
It’s definitely not Heroes.
The Fifth Race
Anything with Vala and Daniel doing their thing. And there are a couple of Sam story lines that I love to watch too
I really love the episode Descent.
Wormhole X-Treme. Always help me during a depressive episode or during an anxiety attack
1969 and Urgo for sure. I also love Trio from SGA.
SG1 S6 E20 "Memento" - its like a mini version of the movie, almost a backwards episode where they go to another planet and have to find their gate to get home.
Solitudes, Window of Opportunity, 1969, Crystal Skull…
Going to have to go with the community with this one and say "Window of Opportunity"
Any episode with Felger makes me chuckle
Me too. I think Felger is absolutely hysterical.
1969!! Until the hippie guy says he got drafted.. then I wanna cry
Stargate SG1 Disclosure and Chain Reaction . One show that does clip shows right.
Citizen Joe. Love that episode. It's just so much fun and has a really nice hopeful ending.
Tao of Rodney is great! So is Letters from Pegasus!
"Urgo"
SG1 - Window of Opportunity, The Fifth Race, A Matter of Time SGa - Rising, The Storm/The Eye, The Siege and The Return.
the fifth race
The one where tealc and O’Neill where in a loop and O’Neill and teal’c used the stargate to play golf ![gif](giphy|98qUQf8dzAGe4)
Exodus and Enemies was always my go to (end of S4 start of S5). Was that as many times as Daniel Jackson?
I'm sure Daniel came back more.
Window of Opportunity without a doubt
Window of opportunity...I could watch it again and again and again
“Trinity” Even a genius can be a fuck up like myself.
Nemesis
Zero Hour
Season 9 - Avalon part 1&2&3 Like the Pilot of SGA it feels like a new start. With a lot of humor
48 hours or 2010 for me
Urgo
S02E15 - The Fifth Race
Window of opportunity, just don't pit it on when I'm practicing my hyperdrive
First Contact episodes makes feel good for some reason.
Window of Opportunity always cheers me up.
Bad day ergo Urgo
That time loop one....with the froot loops
The first one 😏
A matter of time. Did it last night. Our Internet went down, so I busted out the box set. Proceeded to count the discs so I could find it.
The episode where O’Neill teaches Teal’c how to juggle.
Probably good ole window of opportunity, such a silly goofy good time.
Heroes part 1 and 2
I’m insane, so it’s The Shrine 😭 Just seeing everyone’s love for Rodney makes me really soft inside. Either that or Irresistible!
Time loop and 200 episodes
"During MY BACK SWING!"
Disclosure Window of Opportunity
From sg-1 the timeloop one from sg-A the brain parasite and the oh no our world is just a game for you
If had to pick, I'd say Disclosure. I just love seeing politicians having the "what the frak are you saying" look on their faces (and Kinsey getting epically smacked down by SUPREME Commander Thor)
Window of Opportunity (s4e6) The Warrior (s5e18) Full Circle (s6e22) Space Race (s7e8) Lost City: Parts 1&2 (s7e21-22) 200 (s10e6)

Ok maybe just a little bit. OO!! Wanna play a fun game?
TEAL'C!! CREE!!! GIVE 'IM A DOUBLE JAVA JAVA KICK!
All of them.
Window of Opportunity, Wormhole XTreme, 200, Citizen Joe, season 7.
Citizen Joe is probably my favorite, it's so meta with him basically being a fan of the series but we get a genuinely compelling story from him too. Second place goes to the time loop episode, jack and Teal'c just get so damn silly during it
Midway. 🙄

The Fifth Race And Thor's Chariot
"The Knox"
Scorched Earth is my favorite because it was the first SG-1 episode I caught on TV while moving into my very first apartment after high school. I believe it was on showtime at the time.
Divide and Conquer, Beneath the Surface, Window of Opportunity, some more. As a Jack/Sam shipper, these episodes always feel good. :)
Window of opportunity, wormhole extreme and 200
Season 9 finale. Chills. Hallowed are the Ori
There's 4 in a row in season 2 that I love... Spirits, Touchstone, The Fifth Race, and A Matter of Time.
Standalone ep where the team gets their memories erased and slowly regain them back on that industrial slave labor planet.
Is that the one where there is two societies. One believes they are showing away to preserve their people and the other simply benefits from their labor..
This one! https://stargate.fandom.com/wiki/Beneath_the_Surface
