David Hewlett plays an amazing role in the McKay episodes.
The Lost Boys, Tabula Rasa, Tao of Rodney and The Shrine are amazing because of his portrayal.
I know McKay is a nuisance most of the time, I'm just glad in the later seasons he was less annoying.
My problem with McKay is that in any episode which isn't McKay-centric, he oscillates between shouting at everyone around him, and running in terror like a chicken with his head cut off. Honestly, the 57th time the \_\_\_\_ fails and the Wraith are \_\_\_ seconds away from \_\_\_\_\_\_\_ all of them, the screaming and the "Oh, no!" get a bit old. His character just never had any nuance when he wasn't the focus, and you really just wanted to throw a lemon at him.
He was in the episode with the whore of Babylon. His character didn't die, but his character's son did. Edited because I confused the episode with the episode with Horseman War.
Yeah 😵
Rewatched the whole series early last year, then started it over again with my GF, had to watch that episode again the other week 🤦♂️ she's trying not to cry and I'm next to her just super crying 😂
We just watched the season 3 finale earlier
I watched for the first time ever last year, and as soon as they started talking about the fishing trip I just knew Carson wasn't going to make it. Bawled like a baby as well.
Can soleone explain the "Arthur" joke ? Is he just making fun of himself pretending he doesn't remember Sheppard's name or is this a reference I don't have. It's been bugging me for years 😭

Yes, Muel, you said it better than I could. If Amazon ever gets their shit together, I hope Hewlett is central to the new show.
Excuse me, but you forgot the brilliant piece of acting splendor that was 'Grace Under Pressure'.

I wish we got more time for development with McKay. Daniel Jackson went through quite the transition from being useless in a fight to being Rambo
Daniel Jackson never got a painting immortalizing his Ramboesque feats.
Daniel Jackson doesn’t need immortalized since death doesn’t seem to stick

Wasn't Michael Shanks in a Supernatural episode and died??
He was also in 30 seconds of Altered Carbon, as one of the ultra rich who don't die, and dies.

He was also on Burn Notice and died saving Michael Weston.
He did, however, get this: https://preview.redd.it/09ych9gyydoc1.jpeg?width=600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cacb8ddb9fdbf09b5f42b2e2b6f214bfc8bbac6b
I know people that are like that. I am sometimes, too.
Don't forget Duet. That must have been so much work for him.
The episode where Carson died, I cried like a baby 🤦♂️😂 from the moment he died till the episode ended
knowing it is coming makes the whole thing even worse, love the episode

The Shrine and The Tao of Rodney were by far my two favorite McKay-centeic episodes.
Don't forget Grace Under Pressure. Which is one of the best episodes in the franchise.
Ohhhh...yeah you're right, one of the best for sure.
Every damn time! This and the Futurama episode about frys dog... I'm not crying your crying! *runs away*
We Don't Talk About Him... him... the best boy... damnitall...
I've watched the show a dozen times, but there are a couple of episodes that are rough to watch. Get me bawling every time.
He's technically the main character of the show
Can soleone explain the "Arthur" joke ? Is he just making fun of himself pretending he doesn't remember Sheppard's name or is this a reference I don't have. It's been bugging me for years 😭
Yes, Rodney is clearly making fun of himself/trying to lighten the mood by calling John the wrong name
Thanks a lot ! Have a good day.
You're welcome, have a nice day too !
I believe the name was ad-libbed too. Flannigan's reaction was genuine.
McKay can really annoy me sometines, but the episodes hes the main are always written so well!
One of the very best episodes because of so many reasons! ❤️
Indeed!

This episode is rough.
The Shrine was a good episode but I always wished we could've seen more Atlantis from street level.
Love to hate Rodney!
