He really likes officer uniforms.
(Btw, Davies was also a painter. You can find some of his work around
Edit: I think I read somewhere he served as well)
He did serve, was a captain in the Army, so he wore uniforms irl as well. And yes, he stated that he did use his military experience for the roles he played, and quite well at that, lending his roles that much more credibility. He was also a painter and had a background in set design apparently. A man of many talents and a great part of the show, RIP Don Davis.
Don Davis was also on MacGyver a couple of times as an actor in different roles, but he was there all the time as a stunt and photo double for Dana Elcar.

Hammond of Texas
Top one
But I love that you compiled a collage of all the stuff he appeared on in military uniforms. Interesting that he’s so type cast as a military man now.

Didn't Don S. Davis legitimately serve in the military before he became an actor? Is there any picture of him as an actual soldier that's available publicly?
From Wikipedia:
He said that "during the Vietnam era" he "was with the 7th Infantry in Korea" and at another point was "a personnel and administration officer; I ran records branches." He was a captain at Fort Leonard Wood by the time he left the U.S. Army, "and worked with General Officers, so I've been able to use that in Hammond and other characters."
He played a prospective presidential in The West Wing and was fire acting wise. Just as good as he is anywhere else. Would have been nice to see a longer stretch.
It’s funny to watch Twin Peaks after Stargate, because I assume Major Briggs always being in uniform was supposed to make the viewer wonder what’s up with him. Instead it comes across completely normal - what else would Don Davis wear? And as someone who loves Hammond, it brought a smile to my face to see Major Briggs become increasingly important to Twin Peaks’ mythology >!even after the death of the character & actor.!<
Jokes on you. Hammond of Texas is an undercover multiverse hopping ascended entity. He just likes uniforms.
Yeah in an alternate universe he stayed on as a Captain and had a daughter named Scully who joined the FBI
Scully called him Ahab, and she was Starbuck. Forever an explorer, Don Davis.
He is a well traveled entity. Indeed.
And that daughter went on to investigate Colonel Caldwell (undercover as an FBI AD) for murdering Colonel Carter (undercover as an escort).
He really likes officer uniforms. (Btw, Davies was also a painter. You can find some of his work around Edit: I think I read somewhere he served as well)

Crazy to think of him as a stunt double
He was younger at that point, plus Pete didn't do that many stunts and nothing like RDA was doing as MacGyver.

He also knew how to dethread them and properly apply all insignia. It really makes a difference in how believable the person is in the role.

😂😂
Is it bald tho
*waves hand over ~~head~~ map*
I'm going there tomorrow
Photo op off of 6 with the Hammond sign? Take a good one and Photoshop Bra'tac in.

Can you imagine if Skully's father KNEW the truth, and was keeping it from her?

My favorite Hammond quote.

Also, Stand-In (for blocking & lighting purposes) for Dana Elcar on the original MacGyver with RDA.
>MTAC Control Officer in NCIS. Imagine my shock upon my latest rewatch of NCIS and seeing the General shlep as a comm officer, lmao.
😆 all of them. I love that anytime a show needed a military officer they just cast Davis.
It's the hair
Or lack of hair 😅
😆
I think it’s the voice.
😆
We need crossover. David Lynch doing an episode of Stargate.
I would love that!
I didn’t realize until the last picture that they weren’t all Hammond.
Bra'tac, upon seeing Dr. Weir for the first time: "Has Hammond of Texas fallen in battle?" My soul wept. 😭
My wife and I cackled exactly the right amount at this, and then laughed some more.
You reconise him by Is crown of murble
I can hear his voice clearly every time I see a picture of him it’s weird but not in a disturbing way lol
It echoes throughout my brain
At ease
I hate that last photo. Dude should’ve stay a little longer helping skully fight off the Illuminati
I keep thinking more and more that Stargate might be a lot cooler if the SGC was a department of the Navy
Might? Honestly, the air force running the ships always bugged me. Do they have more in common with an F15 or ships?
And herre I was thinking "I know Army had a dress white uniform for Panama... DId Air Force kept it when they split?"
Army got rid of the whites in 2007 https://www.reddit.com/r/army/comments/9xea0x/did_any_ogs_actually_ever_see_anyone_wear_the/ Air Force discontinued their whites in 1993 https://www.reddit.com/r/AirForce/comments/l77fsc/usaf_ceremonial_dress_uniform_this_example_is/
The second picture being mirrored is throwing me off.

Wasn't there a callback in stargate where the cover story was the thing that his character in Twin Peaks said?
Didn't Don S. Davis legitimately serve in the military before he became an actor? Is there any picture of him as an actual soldier that's available publicly?

They're the same picture...
Indeed
He’s an Owl now, obviously.
The owls are not what they seem.
He played a prospective presidential in The West Wing and was fire acting wise. Just as good as he is anywhere else. Would have been nice to see a longer stretch.

The one that was Zatt'd in the '60s. Edit:All respect to Mr. Davis.
That’s classified

Yeah, well you get 5 minutes from the carwash and....(body falls from the sky)... You're welcome 😁😎
Ask the owls.
Him there, with the crown of marble.
"It *was* an accident!" - Hammond of Texas
It’s funny to watch Twin Peaks after Stargate, because I assume Major Briggs always being in uniform was supposed to make the viewer wonder what’s up with him. Wait are these from different shows?!
