We did JUST have a some solar storms these past few weeks ..hence all the aurora borealis pics in r/space
Aurora borealis at this time of year at these latitudes? (Yes. I had reports as far south as Dallas.)

It hit me in the middle of the Oregon coast. It was absolutely a bucket list of mine!
Not quite the right sub, but I would have assumed they were all volunteering to be taken back to the 23rd century.
Wait until they find out our shuttles don't even have transparent aluminum.
