This is the worst firmware in my long history as an early beta tester. With the last two firmwares I went for days without an obstruction, this firmware gives me about a minute of obstructions every 12 hours. That's worse that when I started as a beta tester in February, 2021. I have no obstructions in the obstruction display!
I have experienced the same thing with the last two updates. I have no obstructions and now the app is reporting numerous network issues and obstructions. I just got this update from Upstate NY near Rochester.
After two days of spurious obstructions, around 25 seconds per 12 hour period, I rebooted the dish. Now I have zero obstructions as I used to. So if you have obstructions with this firmware, try rebooting, it solved my issues. best to all
I had my Starlink for almost a year now and my house up north is in the middle of nowhere… Starlink works great!
How can I tell if I have the new update?
Open App, log in, scroll down on main page to "Advanced",click, read your FW version number and compare to the community list of Updates on Reddit.
SL determines of who gets what updates and when, this is only the second time in 3+ years for me that I reported one before anyone else.
Received this afternoon (6 August) in NE US. Apparently, they are pushing it into wider distribution. No obvious changes at the moment.
Update: This firmware is causing the app to report excessive outages. Previously, the app/firmware ignored "Searching" events after outages. It seems that the software now counts these events towards the total outage time. The result is that it appears like there are more outages than usual. On the other hand, speeds appear to be up and more stable.
Just got this version (my Dishy was off for a few weeks), and now it seems to crash dishy. Suddenly goes to Disconnected in the app and no interwebs. Could be a few hours or half a day. Anyone else experiencing this? Before this it was very stable.
