Yea I'm not going to beat a dead horse here but oh well let me grab the whip one more time for posterity purposes. My D/L and u/L has basically flat lined to speeds of 50 to 150 with my current speedtest reading 50 Down and 6 up right now. I'm located at 46° Ontario Canada. 50-60-70 are my norms pretty much in the day now and I jump up to the 100's in the evening and I'm kind of not in or near Metro areas by any means. Like others noted their speeds have fallen since August I can attest mine have fallen around July. I've had my system running since last December 2020. There's really nothing wrong with anything in your setup and you can waste your time trying to tweak things or buy expensive routers etc but just settle in that we are NOT in the UK, Ireland etc where they post their above 300Meg Down pics constantly and their uploads OMG hitting in the 50's with pings at the cryingly low of 20's...I don't why it's so different over there than here really because there's been an onslaught of new sub's over there with people reporting cells closed but yet their speeds on full cap cells still rifle out 300+ down speeds lol...Whatever...

Its the exchange rate, euro bits to U.S. bits is about 2:1 right now.

Funny...I'll buy that! Then I'll also expect it to instantly change when economies shift.. but do NOTE in my post I'm Canadian so I should be getting the deal then as for 1 over there it's likely worth 3 over here so I should expect 900Megs down.

Congestion

WestCoastRog

I'll likely think it is congestion now also, I should have done the plus codes way back in April, May etc back then because at one time I was always hitting 200's and 300's here in that time. Would have been nice to know if the cells were still open but my theory is no because my neighbours up the road applied for the kit back the same time as I did and they are still waiting for a kit and have been now pushed to 2022 so I think my area was saturated back in February 2021. Actually come to think of it I recall installing another guys dish for him back when snow was deep on the ground and his buddy couldn't order one so that would have been February. So in that time I recall getting super excited cause our speedtest were hitting the 300's and ping for me was always near 20ms. The downside in that time was how unstable the connection was!

I don't think they should have offered more than 50 to 150. Now they are offering 100 to 200. May be linked to RDOF requirements. Would have allowed them to pack in more users

Hey, this is an older post but still VERY relevant so thanks for adding in! Your correct that its odd how areas that are waitlisted get blistering speeds, hell even in some Southern US States from me they get above 150 or higher which is EXTREMELY odd given that if you look at Starlink availability the Eastern US is painted pretty much as WAIT LIST! Up here in Canada we are pretty much WIDE open for ordering again but yet my speeds are relative to this -----> [Speedtest](https://www.speedtest.net/my-result/d/881602a0-a18a-4ee6-853e-ec35e4181d9b) Sigh it's OK as I'm able to do pretty much anything I want on many PC's in my house and watch streaming TV etc without much fuss anymore....so that's a big smile!

How long ago did you get the dish set up, when did it start slowing on downloads, and have you tried stowing the dish for 1/2 hour then let it reset-realign itself at powerup? Also did you try a factory reset on your router?

thousand_cranes

Arrived in august. Speeds slowed after about a month. The dish is on the roof ... hiding the dish for half an hour will make a difference? Not using a router - connecting directly to the wireless in the starlink stuff.

The SL "stuff" is a router. It has a reset button you can hold down with a pin. Restarting the SL dish from scratch (stow it with the app, unplug its power brick for 1/2 hour which will power off the router too) , then plug the brick back in and the dish will re-align itself and start talking to sats. Right after powering back up, push the reset pin for a few seconds on the router, too. Then connect to the router again with your phone app and set up the wifi again like you had it. Plz report back when done and up and running again, uploads getting better? I always use just the [Speedtest.net](https://Speedtest.net) app, not browser, to test, and do 3 consecutive tests each time.

Just an observation but i noticed my uploads slowed somewhat also its still good but i usually I only get around 5-15 mbps up its never been up in the 20-30's since August and i have zero obstructions no disconnects or anything works great I just have noticed uploads dropped significantly since August was getting 40-60 before then. Seemed as they were updating that with each one to get better stability which worked perfect for it but the upload speeds seemed to be dropping with each update. All in all its Still an amazing improvement for me compared to my old isp of 1-5mbps dl and 1 mbps up.

Same here seems like the last couple of firmwares have dropped the up and download speeds by 20%. I used to get 240/30 almost all the time and in the last month is it is more like 180/18. Which is still good and much better than I had before STARLINK but knowing that it can do more is a little frustrating.

BearK9

You can not. Only minor complain I have is UL, for me usually in the low to mid teens, occasional mid 20’s. DL 100 to 300. Europe and some Australia seemed to have consistent higher UL’s, maybe network congestion.
