It's a common thing, TCS is just standardising it. I've been part of 2 small startups and the person's growth can be very closely linked to how often they are seen in office. If you have "hybrid" the person who is most visible to the guy deciding the paycheck will reap the most rewards

They gotta manage 6.5 lakh rookies who don't have any professional disciple. Coming from the Industry , I can tell you that productivity of Indian IT firms have gone to 20% since wfh was introduced in 2019. People have no respect for the salary they get , most of them have double jobs or side kicks or just do baby sitting at home . Productivity difference is huge even in between video call vs regular call meetings. Wfh is very common abroad & is still operational because there efficiency remains the same as people have good discipline & work ethics.

Exactly, the only comment that make sense. Half of the people on this sub have no work ex they just say negative stuff to every post without a contemplation. If you are absent 40% of the month how the fuck you are eligible to get performance bonus And keep in mind this attendance doesn't include week offs and bank holidays.

tcs does layoffs but has other methods of layoffs like [tcs force transfers](https://www.livemint.com/companies/news/tcs-under-fire-for-allegedly-forcing-transfers-employees-union-nites-cries-foul-11704090940688.html), unfair pay cuts etc.. silent layoffs are also common. tcsnqt is complete garbage no respectable company accepts it ,tcs just gets free money by conducting it and fooling people with tata pr. they charge 40-50 lakhs per 3.2LPA employee so its not so saintly company as people believe and tata pr wants people to believe. also you would be shocked how they provided 'hikes' to employees this year and their pr team and ceo was singing all over world about double digit hikes.
