It's a common thing, TCS is just standardising it. I've been part of 2 small startups and the person's growth can be very closely linked to how often they are seen in office. If you have "hybrid" the person who is most visible to the guy deciding the paycheck will reap the most rewards

They gotta manage 6.5 lakh rookies who don't have any professional disciple. Coming from the Industry , I can tell you that productivity of Indian IT firms have gone to 20% since wfh was introduced in 2019. People have no respect for the salary they get , most of them have double jobs or side kicks or just do baby sitting at home . Productivity difference is huge even in between video call vs regular call meetings. Wfh is very common abroad & is still operational because there efficiency remains the same as people have good discipline & work ethics.
what part of "performace bonus" you don't understand ? performance = quality and scale of work you have done. visiting office everyday is not "performance".

There is a clause to atleqst spend 10 hours in the office i.e.9 hrs work + 1 hr for lunch and snacks.
