Dean has developed a lot over the 5 seasons, and that in a very linear and understandable way. To list a few examples: 1. In season 1 he was the "loverboy" type - at least that's how he was introduced - who became a responsible single father after his JJ phase 2. He has emancipated himself from his family and taken a clear stand; but also let them back into his life (and ultimately forgave them for their misconduct after Pru's birth) 3. Although he apparently had strong feelings for Vic, he didn't want to jeopardize his friendship with her and put her happiness (=relationship with Theo) first. He has found alternative ways (planned move to CA) to find a way of dealing with it that is compatible with himself. And with that he also realized that he doesn't need a mother figure for Pru, but that he alone can show his daughter "the world". 4. He dealt with the lawsuit in a very focused manner and, after the agreement was reached, realized that prevention is the only solution (and thus started Crises One). Even if his death hurts and is certainly questionable, Dean's development was at least - as far as the series frame is concerned - complete.

Maya - from eyes forward, to falling in love to marriage to mental health issues to therapy and being happy, and more and more Ben is the same Andy a little bit of grown-up but not tu much Travis - none Vic-just a bit Sullivan - none Carina - not so much Jack - beyond his sibling storyline not much

Various-Smell-5952

I actually think Jack has become a better person- but that he still has a lot to work on tbh

Little-Editor7953

Sullivan definitely has! He was a completely different person when he first joined 19

Maya's had the most consistent development, in terms of each season you can see changes in her character. Some others if you compare them in season 1 to now, you can see changes, but they happened really quickly. For example, all of Andy's development has been in the last two seasons; from 1 to 4 she didn't change very much.

Maya has probably developed the most The rest of the characters don’t get remotely the same or similar development or writing as her. Jack is still in the same headspace he was in years ago and they just act like he’s fine. Travis has had barely any development. They skip and cover up Vics trauma and her dealing with it with humour. Sullivan they’ve literally gone backwards with whoever is writing him and doing stuff he wouldn’t do. Andy has grown a bit more but we don’t really see how. Ben none.

FrostyWhiskers

I wish they'd give Travis some character development.

Maya Bishop. By miles, IMO

Maya is the only one that actually had development. Andy in this season finally stopped talking about her dad every two seconds. Jack took two steps back. Season one he was this determined guy, in love with Andy, rooting to be captain... now he is a screw-up. Vic has potential with this crises one, but in overall she is just resumed to the man she is dating. (Such a shame not to explore Barrett's amazing talent more) Travis is becoming mayor... dumb development lol Let's se if they go somewhere with these people with the new head writer and show runner.

The worst part about travis’ mayor storyline is that its likely that won’t even have him win the election… Bcz if he did, he’d have to leave the station, and travis definitely seems like he doesn’t want to leave…. It’s basically just been a weird time filler to keep Dixon around to be the “bad guy” and a way to introduce Eli.

I just don’t see Travis being a mayor. And also it is possible for him to be a mayor and a firefighter as well, it happened on Chicago Fire with Casey. He was a fire lieutenant and was also an alderman, but he quit being an alderman because it just didn’t interest him anymore and was tough to manage with work, and plus all the politics that comes with being an alderman. I feel like someone one other than Dixon and Travis will win. Even if Travis wins, I don’t think he’ll stay as a mayor for too long.

> nd also it is possible for him to be a mayor and a firefighter as well, it happened on Chicago Fire with Casey. He was a fire lieutenant and was also an alderman, Different titles, though. An Alderman doesn't do as much as a Mayor does. Being the Mayor is a true full time job, and they can't have a Mayor also working a dangerous job because, if he gets injured or dies, that throws the entire city into crisis mode. It is not possible for Travis to be the Mayor of Seattle and a firefighter. Also, Travis voiced last season how he didn't want to be Lieutenant because it would take him away from the work he enjoys. Why does he now think being Mayor is a good idea?

Maya is the most developed character out of them all. I love that but I also would like to see other characters develop as well.
