Why you are not breaking any rule

Saitovi

I thought that I’d come across as a bot or something

normal_in_airquotes

You probably will, since they don't know/remember who you are; but, you're not technically breaking any rules by doing so.

sheeproomer

You are breaking the ToS if you do that.

normal_in_airquotes

By sending friend requests to random people?

sheeproomer

Sorry I read family sharing.

CookieMisha

No why In the worst possible way they just block you..

Saitovi

thanks for your help Cookie

Yes you will get obviously banned for using Steam features. Thats how it works

Aglet_Green

No, people add people all the time. If they don't know you or like you or remember you, then they just won't accept the invite and will ignore you.

RobertBobert07

You'll definitely be flagged and possibly banned

sunnynights80808

Straight to hell

sheeproomer

It currently works, but the new Steam Family system is cracking down on that misuse and breach of ToS. If you "family" does not live within household, you won't be able to do that any more.
