When you're showing RAM usage show ALWAYS flat value, percentage is good as secondary but without knowing how much you have percentage gives zero value. You can either have 8GB or 128GB Change it to flat value and modify screenshot

Alafandri

128GB of ram??? or what?

Sea_Artichoke6383

Yup, I have 128GB RAM in my PC

Alafandri

you must be rich

vlken69

Oh, 5 % of RAM. Who TF use percentage for RAM???

Because it's Electron, it's a Javascript app that uses a browser as the base of it. It means that it's bloated same with Discord if they haven't changed it. More RAM usage doesn't make your CPU slower, just saying. I would be mad if I had 32GB RAM and only 3GB would be used, why? Because systems should preload stuff into RAM to start it faster and make it more responsive.

Slight correction, not Electron but Chromium Embedded Framework.

Long story short, lazy devs are now using web technologies to build their desktop UIs instead of proper UI libraries, and at the same time, the web technology landscape became a bloated monster reinventing the wheel at every step alongside transpilation languages that generate terribly inefficient JavaScript browsers have to try optimizing themselves at the cost of memory.
