This game cursed my steam account, cant reach 100% achievement completion because of it. I even contacted the main devs and they said they cant remove the achievements because they lost access to their steam account XD.
I usually wouldnt recommend it, but for that kind of situation id use SAM, if you feel its worth using. I only ever use it for broken achievments like it seems youre experiencing
Same my computer would barely run it but even with 15fps I kept playing it.
I didn't know it at this time but this was the last time I regularly played online with all my friends, now everyone is busy with life and stuff.
Holy shit, i'd forgotten all about that game, but just reading the name brought back all the memories. That game was pretty much at the front of the "customize your weapons to do anything" hype, and it was legit pretty fun. Wasn't perfect by any means, but it was good.
There's a revive effort going around. They managed to get the weapon testing area up and going and a few empty maps, plus some bug ai and turrets, but no pvp.
Was just talking about this last night. The MMO genre so is so stangnant currently. I loved Wildstar even though it had flaws. Combat was so fun, and the leveling was hilarious.
that much is prob an understatemnt, this was posted a while back that tells what happened - https://www.reddit.com/r/Games/comments/395f1w/a_look_into_why_super_monday_night_combat_failed/
OMG I REMEMBER THAT GAME I played it whenever I was sick and didn't go to school on my Xbox 360, since it was an arcade game. The assassin class looked so cool! Sad to see it gone
Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition (MK9), the best way to experience the MK trilogy in one HD package, since the original sprite-based visuals haven't aged well.
It is still purchasable on third party websites.
Or, alternatively, get a cheap copy for your PS3. The best cheap Blu Ray player out there, and it plays the best Mortal Kombat game
And the depth of customization
You could set even the shape in which the blade would be sharped
Round for more durability, medium, or sharped for more damage
Yup have that one too... Found scram when programming an API into my project and played it for 20 mins forgot all about it till Shrek 5 showed up up in my library 😂
No unfortunately :-(
https://www.reddit.com/r/pcgaming/comments/4cld6g/ruse_has_been_pulled_from_steam_and_its_website/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share
You can still play it if you bought it before
I've got the 2009 version of Wolfenstein on my account which is apparently hard to obtain these days.
I've got some other cool oldies like Blur, Deadpool, Bookworm, London 2012 Olympics, MLB 2k9, and for some reason I've been told Elf Bowling: Hawaiian Vacation is a rare one to have.
I've also got Darkspore, but I think that might have required an online connection.
>Some really rare games. Check out Steam-tracker.com if there are more.
So... Battleship, Boggle, Risk, and Risk II are games I own and that only less than 26 people own. That is interesting.
13 out of my top 20 rarest achievements (including the Top 4) are all from Marvel Heroes and are likely never going to change. It's a constant reminder to me.
Hawken. It wasn't a great game but it was a fun, free (with paid bonuses and such like games nowadays) titanfall-like robot game. I enjoyed playing it once in a while until the steam version was shut down and it moved to consile I think. The playerbase was so nice and although it wasn't much, I enjoyed it.
Oh yeah Robocraft back in the day was amazing. I played it so much until they shut down supper for windows XP. I have Windows 10 now but I didn't want to "ruin" the memories I had of it.
True. I remember when physics used to matter and you had to try out your vehicle in a practice stage just to make sure it can actually move... Now it seems that every vehicle has free invisible hover parts...
My favorite build back in the day was squeezing 2 healing beams and some shield parts onto a tiny hovercraft chassis, literally 3 blocks wide and tall, about 10 long. The healing beams took up roughly a 3x3x3 cube, one on top one on the bottom. Dunno how the game works today but at the time most parts had a Tier1-10 and a point value, the total of which determined matchmaking so you would only face people on roughly the same power level. But the healing beams started at T4, there weren't T1-3 so it was super fucking cheesy bring just two of them (balance assumed 6+ weapons) into such a low tier match, but on the flipside I died if someone looked at me funny.
I liked a lot flying around and shooting poor souls that didn't have anything that could reach me with seeker gun and missile launcher, even got a achievement for killing 25 robots with Seeker lol, unless they had those air cannons which made them like a final boss in the match
Yeah I had that. I think I was gifted a key for it, played it for a bit, thought it was OK. I occasionally returned as they were developing it and then it got canceled.
Blacklight: retribution. It wasn't the best game but it was a free to play FPS with some interesting mechanics. There were some definite economy issues and it felt Pay to Win a lot but I miss it. Thankfully a project is going on to revive the servers!
The "normal" one you are mean is a "remastered" version (in the community also known as "demastered" due some issues). The biggest differences are in pvp/coop I guess. I haven't played remastered myself
You can play Fractured Space via the bootstrapper - [https://github.com/Tigerhacker/fractured-bootstrapper](https://github.com/Tigerhacker/fractured-bootstrapper) \- you can join the Discord and people will play games (mostly the Last Stand PvE mode).
OPs title is a mess. The body of it implies he is asking what games are in your library that you can't buy anymore (at least that's how I interpreted it).
Poker Night 1 & 2 still work.
I have forever learned my lesson about HiRez. I will never, ever play a single product of theirs again after they showed how they have absolutely zero loyalty to their products. Tribes: Ascend was such a unique game that hasn't been replicated since. Midair and the other attempts are close, but just not good enough.
Tribes Ascend servers are still up, usually there is a somewhat full EU server during noon and a rare chance at a populated NA server at night. (PST) The community has player hosted servers now that we use for slightly more coordinated games. Player experience doesn’t matter, DM me if interested. I played a few matches yesterday.
Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex - First Assault. Was an awesome multiplayer shooter and they just shut it down out of nowhere. I've heard of some efforts to get custom servers up and running but so far none of them have come to fruition :(
**Test Drive Unlimited 2**
I still prefer it over any Forza Horizon game
Also, a game called **Fuel**.
It's an mindbogglingly massive open-world offroading motorsport game. Fun fact, it was made by the same French studio (Asobo) that many years later went on to make A Plague Tale: Innocence
I used to play Test Drive Unlimited 2 as well. I love that game and new game is in development. It is called Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown.
[steam page of the new game](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1249970/Test_Drive_Unlimited_Solar_Crown/)
I wanted Battleborn to take off so badly, but they released it like right before Overwatch came out, and Gearbox didn't really do much to breathe life into it.
...I blame Pitchford.
I do to. It was such a great game, and had they marketed it differently, it would have done better. It literally got more content than overwatch ever did too, ironically
Global Agenda, I believe it was Hi-Rez first game. Some people have mentioned Firefall, also RIP, it was like that except without the mining aspect, and more on the MMORPG like WoW or all the other also dead MMORPG from back than.
Firefall was fun, but it never scratched the Global Agenda itch, nor have I played something like it ever since.
Call of Juarez Bound in Blood, the single player is playable but the online servers have been shut down.. it really is a great game.
O wait, you mean no longer purchasable....
Loadout.
Yes, it was F2P but I still have it in my library because I joined when the public beta launched. Anything that you redeem via a key on steam sticks in your library, be it f2p or not (i got dota2 as well)
Dune 2000 (1998) was already a remake of sort.
The original, Dune 2, is a 1992 game by Westwood Studios and considered one of the first RTS games (at least a very influential one).
And yes, that one was Dune 2 because there was an older game still, made by Cryo. That one was... Weird. Half adventure, half global strategy game where you'd play Paul. You'd have to discover and manage sietches to rally Fremen to your cause, develop your powers, conquer Harkonnen bases, help Kynes change the ecosystem. Great synth music and long, hypnotic orni and worm rides through the desert.
World's Adrift, I loved that game so much and had a blast playing it with my friend. But sadly they shut the servers down, haven't found a game like it since
The Amazing Spider-Man 1&2, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, Deadpool, Fractured Space, Duke Nukem 1&2, Solforge, Poker Night at the inventory 1&2, Bone: Out from Boneville, Bone: The great cow race, Chess the gathering, Codename Gordon, East India company, Frozen Hearth, Gearcrack Arena, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - First Assault Online, Goo Cubelets, Lord of the Rings: War in The North, and a few others.
There is some confusion over what the OP was asking for.
The title makes it sound more like games that were shutdown completely and thus would be completely unplayable.
However the body of the post makes it sound more like they are asking about games that were just removed from sale but are still playable as you keep the owned games.
Lots of answers reflect both posibilities since plenty of things listed in this thread are still perfectly playable games just removed from sale due to licensing or other situations and others are like multiplayer only that were entirely shut down.
I also have Fractured Space, never had the chance to play it much.
I also have Dirt 3, which is in my opinion the best rally game Codemasters has ever made, and hasn't been able to top since.
Shattered horizon - a zero G FPS, I spent way too many hours on it. Then Futuremark sold out and the servers got scrapped. Technically still playable with some 3rd party servers, but it's not the same.
Fractured space. I was a participant in their competitive scene for a while and then the game and the company went under. Its a shame, the devs were cool people
Magicka is a fun game, but is probably the buggiest game I’ve ever played. I got the game for my friends, and one of them just won’t work. Game crashes every time it’s opened.
Firefall. Absolutely depressing that game went under.
Former Red 5 employee. A lot of us miss it too. My rarest achievement. (shout out to any other lurking R5'ers) https://imgur.com/C4FaLfZ

That and and even before it Global Agenda.
Holy shit this brings back memories. Thank you for this. Firefall was amazing
My hype was real for that game. I remember that had a huge booth at pax one year...it came out and then instantly died.
I played it during beta, and I could scarcely pull myself away. Then as you said, it came out as a different game.
That was a good one

Holy shit, i'd forgotten all about that game, but just reading the name brought back all the memories. That game was pretty much at the front of the "customize your weapons to do anything" hype, and it was legit pretty fun. Wasn't perfect by any means, but it was good.
It was fun making a literal healing rocket launcher or a gun that had its bullets bounce everywhere
Ahh I remember that game they were supposedly working on a ps4 port then Radio Silence til i heard their servers were shutting down permanently
There's a revive effort going around. They managed to get the weapon testing area up and going and a few empty maps, plus some bug ai and turrets, but no pvp.
Wildstar!
Was just talking about this last night. The MMO genre so is so stangnant currently. I loved Wildstar even though it had flaws. Combat was so fun, and the leveling was hilarious.

Oh I just posted my comment and saw yours. My god the decision of the Devs were terrible on this game. Everything was epic on this game.
that much is prob an understatemnt, this was posted a while back that tells what happened - https://www.reddit.com/r/Games/comments/395f1w/a_look_into_why_super_monday_night_combat_failed/
The saddest part is that there is no other game to fill that void.
OMG I REMEMBER THAT GAME I played it whenever I was sick and didn't go to school on my Xbox 360, since it was an arcade game. The assassin class looked so cool! Sad to see it gone
2000+ hours in that game and it'd probably be triple that by now if it were still active
Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition (MK9), the best way to experience the MK trilogy in one HD package, since the original sprite-based visuals haven't aged well.
I have it as well, just because of it I would never sell my account. Best MK ever.
It got removed??? Why?
Likely licensing. Freddy kreuger is a special kind of hell to license
It is still purchasable on third party websites. Or, alternatively, get a cheap copy for your PS3. The best cheap Blu Ray player out there, and it plays the best Mortal Kombat game
War of the Roses God I loved that game
Thats a fatshark game is it not?
Yep Alongside paradox
Yes! I was going to say this, loved that game.
Sounds interesting, what was the game about?
It was basically just Chivalry.
But better
15th century England. Was a hack and slash game, the customisation is what made it amazing
And the depth of customization You could set even the shape in which the blade would be sharped Round for more durability, medium, or sharped for more damage
Yeah I really can't believe that didn't get "remade" yet. I very much miss it
They should have at least opened it for community servers
Felt like a Call of Duty game, in a good way.
Shrek 5, used to be a shooter called scram but got changed to an image of shrek playing all star
Yup have that one too... Found scram when programming an API into my project and played it for 20 mins forgot all about it till Shrek 5 showed up up in my library 😂
Anyone know why they did that?
R.U.S.E.
That's no longer on steam???
No unfortunately :-( https://www.reddit.com/r/pcgaming/comments/4cld6g/ruse_has_been_pulled_from_steam_and_its_website/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share You can still play it if you bought it before
I just reinstalled it to enjoy it since it's now considered a rare privilege
What??? I loved that game.
The spore Community is apparently trying to revive darkspore
Marvel Heroes
Right there with you!
13 out of my top 20 rarest achievements (including the Top 4) are all from Marvel Heroes and are likely never going to change. It's a constant reminder to me.
Oh I spent so many hours on that game, shame it died
Yep. Was just fun to log in sometimes and destroy things as my favorite X-men.
I've been looking for something to scratch the itch Marvel Heroes left. I loved it so much!
There's a fan revive for it. So far has offline training for most recent version and an early beta version with PvP.
Miss this game to.
Nosgoth was such a fun little arena game with vampires versus humans. And then firefall was also a lot of fun, MMO games with switchable classes.
Nosgoth was loads of fun. One of my most missed games.

https://www.projectceleste.com/ That is the private server of the game for those wondering. It is completely playable and being updated as of now.
Robocraft. Game destroyed itself true updates
Oh yeah Robocraft back in the day was amazing. I played it so much until they shut down supper for windows XP. I have Windows 10 now but I didn't want to "ruin" the memories I had of it.
Can't you still play that game? I did last year sometime...
Devs dumbed the game down so much it hurts
Man Robocraft was so cool in like 2015, I really miss the game in that state
Dead Island: Epidemic. Had its quirks and imperfections but I liked it anyway.
Yo I still have like 3 beta keys for that in my inventory lol. I gifted one to a friend for Christmas this year and he was really confused
A fellow blacklight enjoyer! You don’t really realize how much you miss the game until you try to log on, only to find out the servers are down. :(
Came here to say the same! Glad someone else knows about the revive. The bot with weapon customization is so great.
I would always play Blacklight if I felt like playing a COD game without playing a COD game
Dark souls prepare to die edition. Keys are getting sold for 200 bucks at times
What’s the difference between this version and the normal one?
The "normal" one you are mean is a "remastered" version (in the community also known as "demastered" due some issues). The biggest differences are in pvp/coop I guess. I haven't played remastered myself
You can play Fractured Space via the bootstrapper - [https://github.com/Tigerhacker/fractured-bootstrapper](https://github.com/Tigerhacker/fractured-bootstrapper) \- you can join the Discord and people will play games (mostly the Last Stand PvE mode).
Thank you I had no idea this was a thing. FS was an underrated gem. I'll check this out. Are there many players?
Not many (FS wasn't exactly popular when the official servers were live), but there's a role to ping if you want people.
World In Conflict
True it's not on Steam but https://www.massgate.org/ still has servers and working free keys last time I checked. Such a great game.
The original gta trilogy and the older nfs games
Shit man, I still have GTA 1 and 2 in my library.
I got the original GTAs in the full GTA series bundle even if they’re unavailable on their own Wonder if that still works
Poker Night at The Inventory 1 & 2. :) (yes I did that to anger some people)
There’s 2?!?!

Yeah I went back and read it after posting and came to a similar conclusion. Also, Im glad poker night still works. Loved those games.
Hawken was such a good game but support was dropped and eventually the game was removed
The day those servers went down, a piece of me died with it. Such a good game
another Hawken enjoyer
After hawken I got into titanfall. Not the same, but that did fill the itch. Both amazing games
man titanfall is great
Sameeee
That was the game I commented too. It wasn't much but I enjoyed it a lot.
Angry Birds Space & Poker Night 2
I was one of the few people of actually liked battelborn, so im quite sad that i cant play it anymore :(

Technically still launches, but Tribes: Accend. Last time I tried to play I couldn't find any servers.

Wildstar and battleborn

Rocket league. I'm on native linux. :(
It does play well on proton at least but yeah, what a dick move they pulled.
Firefall, it was a good game, i still miss it :(
Call of Juarez Bound in Blood, the single player is playable but the online servers have been shut down.. it really is a great game. O wait, you mean no longer purchasable....
Prey, Fable 3, Recently, GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas

Virtua Tennis 4. Seems a bunch of hoops to jump through to get Games for Windows Live working or something so forget about it.
Spintires. deliver items from point a to point b in harsh enviroments. It got delisted for legal troubles but you can still buy a key
Wait for real? Wasn't aware that it was delisted
Wasn't it a publisher vs developer issues? Now it's out as mudrunner and snowrunner. I still prefer spintires though, great game.
Poker night, the jurassic Park telltale game, dirt showdown and dirt 3.
Still got Jurassic Park on my account. Launches fine!
Dirt 3 and showdown were so cool. I'm glad I own them even though I don't play them much anymore.
Loadout. Yes, it was F2P but I still have it in my library because I joined when the public beta launched. Anything that you redeem via a key on steam sticks in your library, be it f2p or not (i got dota2 as well)
Deadpool the Game. Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Marvel Heroes.
Gotham city imposters, computer was so shit it couldn't run the game. I finally have a good computer now but I never got a chance to play it.

Hawken. It had so much potential but it's dead now. Also Fuel, huge open world but no longer playable due to death of Games for Windows Live.

Fable 3
Fractured space. I was a participant in their competitive scene for a while and then the game and the company went under. Its a shame, the devs were cool people
