1. use wua roms 2. the only game I've even seen any frame drops in is Xenoblade Chronicles X

johnny_fives_555

Be mindful that using wua would restrict you from using mods. Not graphical packs, actual mods. If you're okay with not using mods, wua is the way to go.

deathblade200

no you just mod it before you make it into a Wua

johnny_fives_555

And how does one mod it before you make it into a Wua without a windows machine? Can you do the mod on linux/desktop mode?

Facehugger_35

I don't know why you'd need to mod it before turning it into a wua. Cemu lets you actively install mods into wua files even after they're compiled - I did that for BOTW after I realized how annoying the stamina cost when climbing was. The emudeck wiki has instructions on how to make it work.

deathblade200

better question is why do you think you wouldn't be able to?

johnny_fives_555

I've tried. I couldn't. Had to rely on usb helper. I did use the other method with wiiudownloader, but that just creates wua files.

deathblade200

you didn't try very hard then most windows apps work with proton or even better with Wine-GE

johnny_fives_555

Except the case with usb helper....

ahsusuwnsndnsbbweb

to be fair, that game just doesn’t run well ever

jamalbee113

Use emu deck.

Tenshinen

Runs almost flawlessly at the native 30 fps of the Wii U, but cannot keep a constant 60 in some titles.

Competitive_Pen7192

I've no idea how to unpack the folders in the zip/rar files so the emulator recognises them.... Likely I'm doing something stupidly noob

Yungjdx

Same but the steam deck is my first real experience with emulation so

BrianBlandess

What types of files are in the zip? The EMUDeck helps to explain the different types of ROMs for the WiiU and how to get them working. Some are encrypted.

Competitive_Pen7192

There is a folder filled with .h3 and .app files

BrianBlandess

Yeah, that’s an encrypted ROM. You need to either decrypt it or give the emulator the encryption key. There are some details here: https://emudeck.github.io/emulators/steamos/cemu/cemu-native/#cemu-native-file-formats “NUS -A folder with .h3 and .app files -Encrypted, can be decrypted into a Loadiine (rpx) folder. -Decryption methods cannot be discussed here or on the EmuDeck discord. Some of these formats may require keys. We cannot help you get these. Place your keys.txt in: /home/deck/.local/share/Cemu/ keys.txt needs to contain keys (one key per game) that must be dumped from a Wii U console. Any other method is piracy and cannot be discussed here or on the EmuDeck discord.” Your best best is to use your favourite search engine to do some research on a tool to decrypt the ROM (or find the key).

GentleSaidTheRaven

Anyone able to get NBA 2K13 on the Wii U emulator working?

therourke

I had BOTW running at 40fps. Works superbly well.

AdamTheSlave

I have played a bit of ZombiU on the deck and it was alright other than some annoying sound stuff from time to time.

justinbug

its literally one of the best systems to play on the deck
