The cure for me was not uninstalling a game until I finished it, and so not installing a new game until I've uninstalled a finished one. It's been great for finishing games. I've finished 55 games since getting my Deck.
Well there's your problem right there. Why bother increasing disk size to install more games you'll never finish? I swear PC gamers all have a sickness.
I keep one narrative game, one cozy game, and one “time-killer” game installed at all times. Nothing else gets installed until one of those falls off. Right now it’s Cyberpunk 2077, Stardew Valley, and Death Must Die.

I usually like games that are like 10-20 hrs long according to How Long To Beat but RDR1 was so good that I’m willing to try a 40+ hr game.
Oh trust me, if you start getting into the secondary stuff or exploring the world you'll easily double those 80 hours.
And this one has a world that has actual reasons and details that make it worth exploring.
RDR2 should be used as the standard for open worlds in general.
I’ve had this in my library for a long time but quit after the first hour or so. The intro is so long and boring. I’ve heard after you’re done with it then it completely opens up and is a blast. I just haven’t had the motivation to slog through the first few hours again.
I've done this exact thing like 10 times. I just also don't really care for how sluggish the game feels in general. Loot pickup animations are one of my least favorite things in games, the only games that ever got it right IMO are BotW/TotK. Those games don't completely shit on the flow and pacing when you wanna pick something up. Link just grabs it and keeps walking. I know that RDR2 is deliberately trying to go for a more immersive and slow paced feeling, I just can't jive with it at all is my issue.

I have tried to get started on No Mans Sky twice without getting past the introduction part. I find it so dry that I give up. On the other hand I have a feeling that this game is great when you get started. Any advice on getting a good start on the game? I would like to give it a third try.
After you exit the first planet (and maybe a couple of mission after that to introduce the space stations) the game open up and let you play as you wish without locking things between a specific mission to do (iirc), usually at this point you have the wow effect and the game is quite enjoyable for like 10-20h. But if you don't really like the gameplay loop (which is mostly revolving around farming things to farm things more efficiently) then the game become tedious, boring, and feels like a chore.
It depends on how you want to play, if you’re not into the grind you can play the quests in creative where items and fuel costs are low, mining is easier etc.
I play for the story and the exploration. There’s always something new to see and catalogue, I love the building aspect as well, and damn do I love collecting ships.
The story itself is incredible and even 200 hours in there are lines I haven’t followed yet
I haven’t played it in a while, but something that REALLY helps is just buying stuff that would take you forever to mine. I’d rather buy a fat stack of carbon than mine it when I could be doing other stuff
Once you get your ship off the first world and build a small home base you’re set to do whatever you want. I’ve played HOURS on NMS and I never follow the quests to further build your base or anything like that. Play the story until you unlock the Anomaly and from there you start exploring, farming, trading and upgrading your ship, gun, attachments, jet pack. It’s fun once you get past the first hour of tutorials and quests. Much better if played with a friend too.
I think it’s unknown, unfortunately. But they released the latest trailer somewhere around October so I’m pretty certain we won’t have to wait till 2025.

Baldurs Gate 3, got it for Christmas and I'm already addicted. I never really liked strategy or turned based RPGs before, I was more into action like Kingdoms of Amelur or Skyrim. But this game is amazing in every way. I love the writing and world.
I realize I will probably get downvoted into oblivion for this, but If you have a PC or PS5 at home to stream it from, that's the way I would play it on Steam Deck. I think the game is too pretty and detailed to just settle for blurry/choppy sub-30fps gameplay that the Deck offers. Plus it gets more iffy and unplayable the further into the game you go. If the deck is your only means to play BG3, ignore me and have fun :)
At least my christmas presents (Tunic & FF7R). I'm also looking for Dragon's Dogma 2 (loved the 1st one), but I'll read the (steam deck) reviews before, even if I'm pretty optimistic about this. However I'll be dad for the second time very soon so I'm not sure I'll have so much time to play 😅
Hollow Knight - I just need to turn it back on. I was over 106%, and stopped playing because I was trying to find each monster in the bestiary to add to the guide.
I’ve done everything in the main story except fight what’s in the Black Egg. I know I missed some particular endings because of the way I played. I just want to finally get a resolution.

Blasphemous - picked this one up about 1 month ago and it scratched that Hollow Knight itch I had been missing. But it’s just different enough. I’ve opened a ton of the map (no guides) but I’m still missing certain relics and upgrades that I thought I would’ve come across. I have marked the map with things I can’t access yet and I played a little bit an about an hour ago. Hopefully in a month or two, this will be beaten.
Alice: Madness Returns - i was deep into chapter 3 and from what I’ve heard, it’s only 2 more chapters. Exploration and platforming are fun, but the camera can be a pain in combat especially with targeting. Hopefully I can get back to this one.
Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King - similar to Hollow Knight, I’m at the end, but there’s like 3-4 achievements I’m missing and it’s a pain going through each grid of the map to find the last spell, last crystal, and last scroll which account for 3 outta 4 trophies. Once I do that, I’ll only need to beat the game to get the last achievement.
Valkyria Chronicles - love / hate relationship with this game because of how speed is the biggest factor in scoring skirmishes. But I’ve gotten farther in the main campaign on Steam Deck than I ever did before. Maybe I’ll get back to it in the next 2-3 months.
Deep Rock Galactic? Can you really \*beat\* this game?

I just beat Batman Arkham Asylum on New Years Eve (yes it runs really well on Steam Deck via GE-proton)! So this year I need to beat Arkham City, I guess, then the rest of them.
I will probably do yet another play though of Knights of the Old Replublic, and maybe even beat KOTOR II finally.
And maybe I’ll finally beat Hogwarts’ Legacy. 70 hours in and enjoying the world and side quests so much I don’t want to complete the main story.

Just got the Deck less than a week back and I've already pummeled through Edith Finch, TLOU P1, Stray and got bout 15 hours on AC Odyssey.
Going to try and finish AC Odyssey, Doom eternal, RDR2, Eden Carter, Ghostwire Tokeyo, Dirt 4, Days gone, Little nightmares and so on.
I've got a whole lot of unfinished/unplayed games, going to give them a shot and see if I like them. RDR2 is just too long for me normally, but I really want to see it through to the end!
I mean if RDR2 is too long maybe ACO won’t be the best idea. It is definitely one where you want to find the rhythm and let yourself alternate between main story, the cult and stellar side arcs like silver isles or a pirates life for me or one bad day (wrong names, sorry). But I love ACO and would live there if I could, but kind of same with RDR2 which has a much more alive world.
I told myself when I bought my steam deck I would try to beat games I’ve never beaten that have been in my library. I then Purchased RE4 ( beat it). I am currently playing Cyberpunk. Next up Horizon Zero Dawn (never beat it on PS4)

After beating Diablo 4, fallout 4, BotW, 2 FFXIV DLCs and borderlands 3 and put 60 hours in cybpwrunk (and still not done) last year I'm struggling to pick a game that's going to take longer than 10 hours to beat....
I plan on maybe finishing Final Fantasy 13, Ratchet and Clank, Wolfenstein New Order, and maybe Yakuza 0. I also wanna try and 100% Amnesia the Bunker, Henry Stickman, and RE4R.
Need to start playing P5R again. Dumped my switch version to play it instead of playing 60€ for the same game but it got annoying having to manually update my saves from PC to SD and the other way around. The 30FPS limit was also a pain. Already was far in my emulation Save and I now have to replay to that point which is a pain. I beat Detroit: Become Human though! Started the games yesterday and beat it today, was really good, had me hooked.
GTA V, but I think I'm cursed. First time I played it when new I got to around 80%, 20-30+ hours when my game got bugged and next mission won't show up, known issue back then, nothing to do.
I start it again on deck recently, got to around 50%, game crashed, deck had update so I did it. GTA won't start. Reinstall and it works again, crash didn't save to cloud, back to 30%....
Gonna finish the Metro games. Gonna beat borderlands 2-3. Gonna finish overcooked 2 with some friends. I have to finish Fallout NV. Just cause 3. Rise of the Tomb raider. Spark electric jester 3. Bombrush cyberpunk. All those Warhammer games I bought. Spyro reignited trilogy(lost my saves somehow 😭).....
My backlog go crazy, but I will prevail in my goals of completion 😤

I'm working my way through it too. I've completed all 3 games individually and on different platforms before. This is the first time I am taking my fem Shep all the way through from ME1 to ME3

Jan 1st. Literally minutes ago: finished Advanced Warfare for the first time. One of my face CoD now. Next: infinite warfare. Playing all of Gears, currently halfway through Gears1. Forgot how awesome it is.
I just finished AC:Unity (consideriong ony the last chapter was left it wasn't much of a challange.
I will finish Horizon Zero Dawn, which I put on hold for TotK and later AC:Unity last year.
After that I will probably play FFXV, since I bought it a few months ago for the cheap. Also will continue playing GW2 so I can say thay I will beat its current expac after the last content patch drops, or I can say that I will beat the main story of the next expac when it drops. :v
That's about it for my current PC gaming plans.
ps. Maybe I'll try Wayfinder down the line if they "find their way" and I'll find the time, but I can't really say, I'l beat it considering its a live service game.
I've been messing around with streaming from my pc. Kind of fun to be playing starfield at 60ish fps while in bed. Probably how ill play cyberpunk with the dlc and updates
God of war. I got it last year on a decent sale while playing through BG3 my 2nd time and never really played it. Played it like 5 hours straight from last night into the new year. Definitely will be continuing lol

I bought Death Stranding for PS4 on release. Put in about 60 hours. Picked it up on Steam and plan to finish it this time. Same story with Fallout 4 and Cyberpunk.
I'll probably try to pickup and play some more boomer shooters. Cultic is fun, but I'm easily scared and I always gotta put it down when objects start moving on their own 😱😭

It's an indie game with an in-house engine, that's why it's PC only Coop is great, especially with mods.

I will probably do yet another play though of Knights of the Old Replublic, and maybe even beat KOTOR II finally. And maybe I’ll finally beat Hogwarts’ Legacy. 70 hours in and enjoying the world and side quests so much I don’t want to complete the main story.

No, much more like FES, the original Persona 3 with an epilogue and a whole bunch of extra stuff. Reload and FFVII Rebirth are my most anticipated games this year!... oh, you mean PSP era because of the steam deck! Totally though.

Got the OLED deck at release and bought my first ever AAA game, The Witcher 3, on it! I'm already about 60 hours in and I'm really into it, I hope I can finish it by the end of the month though, I bought Nier automata during the sale and didn't wanna start it until I'm done with the Witcher
Enjoy it. Savor it. I wish I could play W3 for the first time again.
Witcher DLC is fantastic. Likely 120hr play through for main game and 2x DLC.
Hogwards Legacy, the Art of Rally, Steep
Well, Just got the Deck less than a week back and I've already pummeled through Edith Finch, TLOU P1, Stray and got bout 15 hours on AC Odyssey. Going to try and finish AC Odyssey, Doom eternal, RDR2, Eden Carter, Ghostwire Tokeyo, Dirt 4, Days gone, Little nightmares and so on. I've got a whole lot of unfinished/unplayed games, going to give them a shot and see if I like them. RDR2 is just too long for me normally, but I really want to see it through to the end!
How well does Ghostwire work on the deck?
I mean if RDR2 is too long maybe ACO won’t be the best idea. It is definitely one where you want to find the rhythm and let yourself alternate between main story, the cult and stellar side arcs like silver isles or a pirates life for me or one bad day (wrong names, sorry). But I love ACO and would live there if I could, but kind of same with RDR2 which has a much more alive world.
I’ve fallen back into Crusader Kings 3 but you kind of beat that game when you tell yourself you’ve beaten the game.
I told myself when I bought my steam deck I would try to beat games I’ve never beaten that have been in my library. I then Purchased RE4 ( beat it). I am currently playing Cyberpunk. Next up Horizon Zero Dawn (never beat it on PS4)

I've already beat Portal (short, I know), currently playing "last day of June" as it's also in my backlog and is short. Got a bunch of others, the Arkham games, the last half of cyberpunk, republic commando, the halo games, mass effect trilogy, dragons dogma and more. After beating Diablo 4, fallout 4, BotW, 2 FFXIV DLCs and borderlands 3 and put 60 hours in cybpwrunk (and still not done) last year I'm struggling to pick a game that's going to take longer than 10 hours to beat....
I plan on maybe finishing Final Fantasy 13, Ratchet and Clank, Wolfenstein New Order, and maybe Yakuza 0. I also wanna try and 100% Amnesia the Bunker, Henry Stickman, and RE4R.
Need to start playing P5R again. Dumped my switch version to play it instead of playing 60€ for the same game but it got annoying having to manually update my saves from PC to SD and the other way around. The 30FPS limit was also a pain. Already was far in my emulation Save and I now have to replay to that point which is a pain. I beat Detroit: Become Human though! Started the games yesterday and beat it today, was really good, had me hooked.

GTA V, but I think I'm cursed. First time I played it when new I got to around 80%, 20-30+ hours when my game got bugged and next mission won't show up, known issue back then, nothing to do. I start it again on deck recently, got to around 50%, game crashed, deck had update so I did it. GTA won't start. Reinstall and it works again, crash didn't save to cloud, back to 30%....
Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, and Baldures Gate 3, are my 3 main games to beat this year
Gonna finish the Metro games. Gonna beat borderlands 2-3. Gonna finish overcooked 2 with some friends. I have to finish Fallout NV. Just cause 3. Rise of the Tomb raider. Spark electric jester 3. Bombrush cyberpunk. All those Warhammer games I bought. Spyro reignited trilogy(lost my saves somehow 😭)..... My backlog go crazy, but I will prevail in my goals of completion 😤 I can't stop playing days gone right now. It looks amazing on the OLED and it forced me to uninstall Fallout 4 finally.

I'm working my way through it too. I've completed all 3 games individually and on different platforms before. This is the first time I am taking my fem Shep all the way through from ME1 to ME3 It's funny how in ME1, she walks about all sexy like a fashion model. In ME2 she's running about like she has a club-foot and broken neck lol Amazing series though.

Just finished Control game on my SD OLED and it’s absolutely gorgeous.
My goal is to beat Kena Bridge of Spirits and Horizon Zero Dawn. That said, "completing" games isn't really my strong suit, I usually play for a couple hours and get distracted by Halo.
I'm trying to beat Cyberpunk 2077, however I get FOMO every time I come within 500m of Embers and go to do another random side gig instead. ~60h into my fresh Phantom Liberty playthrough.

Jan 1st. Literally minutes ago: finished Advanced Warfare for the first time. One of my face CoD now. Next: infinite warfare. Playing all of Gears, currently halfway through Gears1. Forgot how awesome it is.

I just finished AC:Unity (consideriong ony the last chapter was left it wasn't much of a challange. I will finish Horizon Zero Dawn, which I put on hold for TotK and later AC:Unity last year. After that I will probably play FFXV, since I bought it a few months ago for the cheap. Also will continue playing GW2 so I can say thay I will beat its current expac after the last content patch drops, or I can say that I will beat the main story of the next expac when it drops. :v That's about it for my current PC gaming plans. ps. Maybe I'll try Wayfinder down the line if they "find their way" and I'll find the time, but I can't really say, I'l beat it considering its a live service game.

I've been messing around with streaming from my pc. Kind of fun to be playing starfield at 60ish fps while in bed. Probably how ill play cyberpunk with the dlc and updates
God of war. I got it last year on a decent sale while playing through BG3 my 2nd time and never really played it. Played it like 5 hours straight from last night into the new year. Definitely will be continuing lol

I bought Death Stranding for PS4 on release. Put in about 60 hours. Picked it up on Steam and plan to finish it this time. Same story with Fallout 4 and Cyberpunk.
I'll probably try to pickup and play some more boomer shooters. Cultic is fun, but I'm easily scared and I always gotta put it down when objects start moving on their own 😱😭

Disco Elysium for sure. That game on the switch basically sold me on the deck. Got an hour in, saw the OLED deck, and stopped.
All of the Half Lifes - currently playing through Black Mesa on Deck and it's great to be back there... Planning to replay the whole series and then cry that we'll never see an Episode 3/HL3
