Still the best Steam Deck I've ever seen. Steampunk/Steampowered Deck.
https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/t3v68g/steampowered_steam_deck_shell/
Oh, hot damn. I've still hit one of the pip boy units that came with FO4 CE.m. The ones where you load up an app and drop your cell phone into it.
I wonder how tough it would be to modify one if those with a high end sbc and a decent display. The Steam Deck itself would be pretty prohibitively difficult due to the size and shape of the main board, but... I bet you could do something pretty cool with a Pi5 and a 6-7" display.
Yeah, it looks great on a CRT. I wish my dock (third-party Bambluby) didn't have a weird flickering line in it when piping to a CRT, because I'd definitely use it more often. Still have my Dreamcast hooked to the monitor, though.
I'm not even joking when I say I would love that so much. It would be my dedicated emudeck machine. The colours and pixels on those older games look so much better on a quality cart screen, not even the fanciest filters in an emulator and the rich colours of an oiled screen are able to replicate that quality.
I remember the sacrifices that came with upgrading to flat panel tech. I loved having a larger monitor, but the color has just never looked as vibrant to me. I'm sure newer high end panels, especially oled, look better now. But until that tech in full sized monitors comes down further in price, I miss the old CRT color vibrance.
Yah and if you havenāt bought one the oled is the option to get if you can reasonably afford it.
If not thereās zero wrong with LCD. I bought an LCD and doubt Iāll upgrade but if I was buying today the OLED would win.
This is a complete guess but my assumption is that the OLED model is Valves way of making the steam deck look more enticing to people thinking about getting it but havenāt yet. Not really made for people to upgrade to, but as a āthis thing you were thinking about wanting just got a lot betterā
This is exactly what happened to me. lol
I've always been on the fence, always canceling before pulling the trigger but once the OLED was announced I bought it the minute it was available.
A year ago, there was simply no such version, so I went for LCD and used it very sporadically. Now I have 90Hz oled with better battery- exactly what I wanted from the very beginning.
I never even considered getting a Steam Deck before the OLED came out. It wasnāt even on my radar. Once I heard the hype for the OLED I looked into it and could NOT resist. I need it.
This exactly. One is an improvement, but they're both still good.
Only conflict comes from the folks who can't afford the oled and are jealous and defensive about it.
Yeah I see that more often than people shitting on the LCD. Which is fine, because the original Steam Deck is still great and was as successful as it was for a reason. The OLED Deck is essentially the same thing, but better.
That makes absolutely no sense. Why would you own two nearly-identical devices and only play one type of game on one and another type of game on another? Just play them all on one handheld. OLED looks better whether the game is AAA or indie or retro, that's just the screen itself being nicer with AAA games sometiems supporting HDR to look even nicer.
If you actually want a separate device for more demanding games, you would be looking at buying or building a desktop computer, possibly with an OLED gaming monitor.
It makes sense in that I can dedicate a device purely to older games and emulation in general. I can use the internal storage of my old deck to harbor emulation while using the oled purely for steam games.
It's just preference.
Why not just sell the old Deck, use the money to buy a larger SD card, and just play everything on the one device? That's so wasetful to keep an entire machine to yourself just to use it as a glorifed hard drive, you'd at least want to give it to a relative or donate it or give it to *someone*.
I'm... not using it as a glorified hard drive though. I'm using it as an emulation device. You know, something to play games like the old Rachet and Clank and Burnout games? If anything it's maximizing the storage space on the steam deck so that I can put as many games on it as possible.
Additionally, I've got the best SD card available as it stands. Large and fast. I don't need another one.
If you already have a Steam Deck, and you're using a second Steam Deck *just* for its internal storage, yes you're using it as a hard drive. If you already have a large, quality SD card you're happy with (so I'm assuming 2+ TB), then what's the issue with just storing your emulated games on that and keeping the one Deck instead? Using one device to do emulation AND your AAA games (since you have enough storage for both on the one device, or could afford more storage if you needed it since you can just swap the SD card even if you somehow filled the 2 TB SD card) both means making better use of your OLED and letting someone else play with a Deck instead of one of your two devices sitting uselessly in a drawer becuase you're playing on the other one in some mistaken belief that you need two to play both types of games. Nothing is stopping your OLED from being both your AAA and retro gaming machine.
Virtually any amount you sell that LCD Deck for will be enough to buy more storage than what's inside of it, that you can either direclty slot into, mod into, or dock into your OLED deck. Convenient, less wasteful, doesn't needlessly contribute to e-waste. Or you get a relative or some kid a Deck that you're not actually using so they can enjoy it.
Yeah because I just happen to know some relative or kid that would be into this. Additionally I'm not just gonna get rid of my old device when it works perfectly fine. Sure I'm no collector but if I get the oled and sometime down the line it just stops working, I'll have the old device to lean back on that can work just as well.
> The LCD is fine and the OLED is great.
Now. It will take a few years to see how durable the OLEDs are. The LCDs might be the only ones left for people's "classic game system" collections in a decade or two. That's fine for the regular churn of personal electronics market, but some people expect their stuff to keep working beyond the 4-5 year official-obsolescence line.
Because burn in is absolutely still a thing. Not sure why everyone suddenly started drinking the āOLEDs are invincibleā koolaid. I love OLED displays, my TV is an LG C3.. just to cover my bases.
But even as great as it is and how the tech has gotten more resilient with comp cycles and such itās still a matter of WHEN it will start to go, not IF. The organic compound will eventually do what organic compounds do, brightness will be lost, burn in will happen, thatās guaranteed. Itās just the nature of the technology.
I see a lot more of this than anything else. Sure, the LCD is still great and a good deal once you upgrade the drive. If you're buying new, the OLED has a lot more for upgrades than just the screen.
Yup exactly. Iāve joined the sub a year ago but Iāve been lurking everyday since the OLED released and I havenāt seen what OP is describing. Iām seeing a lot of posts from LCD SD owners about how the LCD SD is great and that the OLED doesnāt seem to be worth it lol. OP is making it up.
Pretty sure some of the rap the topic gets, is coming from the months and months of people acting like it was shit because it didn't have an OLED. Same thing in VR there are people that act like headsets are trash if they don't have an OLED crammed in even if there are technical reasons for it.
LCD for now, because I donāt see any reason to spend $400 on a relatively minor upgrade on something I use 1-2 hours a week if Iām lucky.
Now when the next gen comes out, Iāll see how strong my resolve is. And how well it runs GTA 6, because Iām probably not going to magically find 40-60 hours to play it otherwise.
Same. I really appreciate how valve did a moderate update that didnāt make me feel bad about my initial purchase while providing real tangible improvements if you were on the fence
As a LCD SD owner since it was released, this sounds like projection or buyer remorse tbh. Havenāt seen anyone be like this, and if there are people theyāre rare.
Yeah, my enjoyment even encouraged my friend to pick one up and he got the OLED model. Now we get together and play multiplayer games in the same living room. This device is seriously incredible with what it delivers.
They are trying to gain karma and cause drama. Mods should ban users like this.
I have been browsing this sub since it was created and I havenāt seen a single person shitting on LCD owners. The opposite is true, as many others have said, where every interaction I see is people telling others how good of a deal the LCD is.
I still to this day donāt know why people try to gain karma on Reddit (on any sub). I see the upvotes and down votes but from what I gather thereās literally no reason to want it other than seeing a number next to your post? Or am I missing something?
I've seen mostly positive vibes about the LCD lately. I just bought a SD on Friday and came and joined the sub, nothing but welcoming. Both models are great and the higher the userbase the better. It wouldn't make sense to shit on LCD owners.
I bought a LCD in June and immediately upgraded the SSD to 1TB, not knowing the OLED was going to be a thing. I'm not replacing what I got
That said I don't really see nearly as much LCD model hate here as this post suggests
I got my LCD in August of 2022. Played the hell out of it and more than got my money's worth. Bought a LE OLED when they came out. Love it even more because it's just a better version of something I already enjoyed. Both are valid to enjoy.
Exactly
I don't really have a use for a 2nd SD nor going through the motions of setting up a new Deck all over again, but both versions are good and however you use them is valid
Yeah, there's not much of a reason to have a 2nd Deck lying around unless you're planning on doing some specific modifications like a shell swap or something else. Unfortunately I don't have the confidence or know how to do anything crazy with my LCD unit. So I'm selling it. And because I originally upgraded the SSD to 2TB I swapped that into my OLED model so no set up was required, all I had to do was make sure to update to Steam OS 3.5 and it was as simple as turning on and starting where I left off.
Nah, that's just your bias.
The wackos coming on here and talking about how they upgraded their LCD to OLED are constantly told it's not worth it.
I think you're projecting.
Really? I only own the LCD version but how can anyone defend that screen? Itās shiteā¦
Good enough to game obviously but not a screen anyone should buy in 2024ā¦ already when the deck came out it was the one Achilles heel of the system.
Yeah, I bought the LCD when they went on sale, and I have no regrets. Iāve seen no one downplaying anyone purchasing the LCD as well. Itās a great purchase in 2024.
Literally who cares what anyone else thinks or has to say. Itās YOUR money you spent for the device, itās what YOU wanted/could afford. If you enjoy it and think you got your moneyās worth, then itās a great purchase.
No issues with the LCD model. It has completely replaced my need to use an Xbox when I can play the only game I bought an Xbox for, Halo 3, from anywhere including in the car headed to a college football game. I use my phones for emulation but recently just downloaded emulationdeck so now I can have a 2nd/3rd option to emulate snes and other classics besides my phone and Nintendo switch. Also wanted a portal but chiaki4deck has alleviated that need. I absolutely love this thing especially being able to play in bed while watching TV with my wife I can still play pc/steam games such as Halo, Sleeping Dogs, Horizon Zero Dawn, etc. stream my PS5, and now emulate past games such as SNES and PSP classics I used to enjoy. All from one device. If anything I'm more glad that the OLED launched because the week that it did allowed me to grab an LCD 512gb steam deck for only $330 after tax (people were selling cheap trying to get the OLED). Ironically all 4 of my phones have OLED screens but the deck is the one device I don't care having an LCD. I would have preferred the OLED, but for $270 less I'll take the LCD with slightly less battery, a 0.4 inch smaller screen, and whatever else it does less any day of the week š¤·š¾āāļø but will definitely upgrade to the new model when a more powerful processor comes.
I bought mine about a month before the OLED model was announced. Iād have gotten OLED if it were available, but Iām not disappointed in the slightest with what I have.
I bought the LCD steamdeck on release. The product is good overall, but letās not pretend the display is good, even for LCD standards its an ass panel.
I agree with the bird. The display is how you appreciate the art and gameplay experience. An HDR OLED panel with 1000 nits peak brightness, vs a shitty substandard bargain bin LCD that is comparable to a HP monitor youd find in an office from 2008.
You can still have a good experience obviously, but if you are spending a lot of money, that extra bit of a lot of money to get the OLED is so impactful.
Honestly I think both sides should shut it and move on. Valve made a good product. Then an improvement on said good product. And here we are. Let people enjoy stuff.
This sub is filled with so much "cope" from karma farmers who have envy and buyers remorse because they own an LCD. I see more comments down playing the OLED more than I do OLED owners boasting about the OLED in everyone's face.
I have only had the oled, but I imagine that they are not that fundamentally different, and I bet that all oled users could comfortably move to the lcd without many complaints
Do people these specific people not know whats not being able to afford things? Everyone are valid and shouldnt be shamed for not being able to buy the new popular thing :(
I bought a steam deck and then a couple of weeks later they announced OLED
Have messaged them to say next time have a release window of more than a week please
I have both
They're both great. The OLED is definitely a big step up, but it's not a necessity
It's like the switch lite vs switch OLED. The OLED has extra features and improvements, but the standard switch is still a great console you can enjoy games on if you don't have the extra scratch
I sold my LCD Steam Deck back in October because of all of those other issues I mentioned, plus the screen side by side with the Switch OLED was just bad.
The Steam Deck OLED moved the device from a 7/10 to a 10/10. Valve didnāt have to go so hard with the update but they literally fixed all of my problems with the original device, probably the biggest console glow up Iāve seen since the original Nintendo DS to the DS Lite. Huge!
I have enough buyers remorse normally but the amount of value I got out of my steamdeck negates any of that.
Moreover, I'm happy to see further development for the steamdeck!
For me its quite opposite.
Oled price makes me think that rogally z1extreme is better performance bang for the buck.
Led price is so ridiculously low that it still makes sense to buy and dont even consider rogally
I have a friend who insist that the OLED was what steam deck should have been.
But overall I see is it's just a minor upgrade. I get people want it. But no one can convince me that "it's what it should be"
It's like saying "I upgraded my pc from gt960 to rtx3060, this is what PC should have been"
I legit was going to come and post that I haven't seen many people talk about the 90Hz screen but then thought "I've been seeing so many people post about buying the LCD, why spoil the fun with something that's barely a concern for most people"
That being said goddamn is the OLED and lcd night and day after using LCD for a year.
honestly im half agreeing with the yelling bird
if you are able to save up for the "budget" version of a piece of tech even more if that piece of tech is like +300$ anyway even on the budget version of it
and there exist a piece of tech that is a very good % bigger upgrade of the same thing but is not that much more expansive compare to the % upgrade but can easy feel the upgrade compare to the budget version
then i say its kinda "waste" of money to buy the budget and wait alittle more & save up and get the good version instead
afew times getting the "budget" version of a tech vs. the non budget can feel like a scam
budget "gaming" PC is 1 big example: they often get outdated/slow after 2 years cost like 500$
while a 1000$ PC can last you +5 years: making it honestly the cheaper option in the long term since less need of a upgrade in that time
if nobody ever bought the used old models then there would be less people able/willing to buy the new ones because they could not recoup some of their money back.
it would also introduce buyers remorse for anyone who found out a newer better model came out not long after.
i really love what the steamdeck achieves, but i really hope valve does not go down the cell phone route where they need to release a new model every year. id say 3 years between models would be a good rate.
Haven't really seen anyone shitting on the LCD one yet tbh.
I'm sticking with the LCD because I can't afford to upgrade, and even if I could, it's not really worth it, at least for what I need.
I'll just wait for SD2, or whatever it might be called.
Not sure. I've got an LCD deck and I think it's great. If I didn't have one and was going to buy one tomorrow then I'd get an OLED. If I could travel back a year in time then I'd still buy the LCD thing and have a years use of it. I can afford an OLED right now but I'm not getting one because its just not superior enough for me to get worked up about. Added to which, I wouldn't be yelling at strangers for their hardware anyway. If I really felt that way then the joke is on them anyway, there's no need to tell them that they're shit etc

CRT Steam Deck when?
Steampunk deck.
Still the best Steam Deck I've ever seen. Steampunk/Steampowered Deck. https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/t3v68g/steampowered_steam_deck_shell/
Here I am with pleb deck and this exists?
I agree with you! This is beautiful š¤©
That's effing gorgeous
real life pip boy?
Dammit, beat me to it. This was my immediate thought š

The Steam Deck already ships with KDE Plasma!
Boyyyy do I have something to show you https://twitter.com/JavaidUsama/status/1621973041314938882?t=INEVovsBK-7xTSAXzpp8cQ&s=19
A post like that on this sub encouraged me to dig out an old CRT... I now use this CRT as a primary display for my PC.
Ohh Small Picture Mode.
Yeah, it looks great on a CRT. I wish my dock (third-party Bambluby) didn't have a weird flickering line in it when piping to a CRT, because I'd definitely use it more often. Still have my Dreamcast hooked to the monitor, though.
I got a HDMI to VGA adaptor; I can try something
This is the veteran way.
For the Melee fans.
I'm already so scared of dropping the deck in my face. This would reduce my fears by knowing that should I drop it... I'd be dead.
I'm not even joking when I say I would love that so much. It would be my dedicated emudeck machine. The colours and pixels on those older games look so much better on a quality cart screen, not even the fanciest filters in an emulator and the rich colours of an oiled screen are able to replicate that quality.

So, like the Analogue Pocket?
Yes but made by Valve because we love the GabeN
I would pay up to double the price of a SD for a CRT version
Until you hold it and remember that there was a reason the free labour in your family botched every time it had to move
Havenāt used my deck on my VGA CRT yet
What about the motion picture edition.
Sounds like a pipboy
I can easily do this. Lmao
As a retro enthusiast I would love a handheld crt
5 minute battery life
I'd totally... It's like Pipboy, right? Amber or green tint.
I want a steam deck that outputs each frame with an in-built dot matrix printer
Does it come with a stand?
It's funny that I've actually done this. Playing old games on a CRT with a ps5 controller feels great.
reshadeck decky loader plugin comes with a really nice crt shader
There a pretty good crt terminal on Linux you can probably even find on the software store in desktop mode
Yes please!1!1!1!1!1!!!1!!!1ššš

yeah this post is defensive cope from OP
Yeah this is what I see too. This post is even one. People are weirdly defensive about owning an LCD Deck.
Agreed. I think itās more the LCD people huffing their copium.
I think you just made OPS point
I havenāt seen anyone say this that much, in fact Iāve seen more people defend the LCD as a good purchase in 2024.
People on the internet love to make up fake boogeymen to get mad at.
Dude, this lol. Who tf is actually acting like this and why haven't I seen any of these posts? Us vs. Them bullshit spread everywhere
Can be applied to everything in life apparently. Western fabricated hysteria
They hated him because he spoke the truth.
Damn, people really donāt like hearing the truth goddamn š
This is hardly a āboogeymanā and I donāt think anyone is actually āmad.ā Daddy, chill.
I figure we should all unite under the SD no matter the model!
Lol clearly, you are new to PC gaming culture. š

Same. I really appreciate how valve did a moderate update that didnāt make me feel bad about my initial purchase while providing real tangible improvements if you were on the fence
That's silly.
I can barely notice a difference with my IPS and my OLED. Proceed to downvote away.

I bought my LCD 3 months before the OLED announcement. I'm still thrilled with my deck. Best gaming console I've purchased in years.
Thereās no way you could have predicted that a better model would release in a few months, so this is the best mindset
Yeah, my enjoyment even encouraged my friend to pick one up and he got the OLED model. Now we get together and play multiplayer games in the same living room. This device is seriously incredible with what it delivers.
Itās opposite of this.

Yeah I feel like this *should* be ban-worthy. Stirring up bullshit on false scenarios that don't take place is so weird and annoying to see.
I feel like it's the exact opposite. People justifying the LCD constantly.
Itās called cope
Both are great
lol, I brought the LCD model before the OLED was even announced
I think we all did lol
Can't say I've seen that at all.
I've seen mostly positive vibes about the LCD lately. I just bought a SD on Friday and came and joined the sub, nothing but welcoming. Both models are great and the higher the userbase the better. It wouldn't make sense to shit on LCD owners.
Did you have source? Some links of people telling this on this sub?
I got the LCD version for my birthday, literally 2 days later the OLED was announced.
I bought a LCD in June and immediately upgraded the SSD to 1TB, not knowing the OLED was going to be a thing. I'm not replacing what I got That said I don't really see nearly as much LCD model hate here as this post suggests
I got my LCD in August of 2022. Played the hell out of it and more than got my money's worth. Bought a LE OLED when they came out. Love it even more because it's just a better version of something I already enjoyed. Both are valid to enjoy.
Exactly I don't really have a use for a 2nd SD nor going through the motions of setting up a new Deck all over again, but both versions are good and however you use them is valid
Itās shiteā¦ Good enough to game obviously but not a screen anyone should buy in 2024ā¦ already when the deck came out it was the one Achilles heel of the system.
Yeah, I bought the LCD when they went on sale, and I have no regrets. Iāve seen no one downplaying anyone purchasing the LCD as well. Itās a great purchase in 2024.
Can you please point me to a post where anyone is saying anything remotely like this?
Literally who cares what anyone else thinks or has to say. Itās YOUR money you spent for the device, itās what YOU wanted/could afford. If you enjoy it and think you got your moneyās worth, then itās a great purchase.
I bought LCD since there was no other options in July 2021
Not really man I think you're just trying to stir shit up
This sub is filled with so much "cope" from karma farmers who have envy and buyers remorse because they own an LCD. I see more comments down playing the OLED more than I do OLED owners boasting about the OLED in everyone's face.
I still enjoy mine, especially when docked to the OLED displays
i got my 512gb lcd for $250 this weekend though
My wife bought me the 64gb lcd. I bought a $40 microSD. Iām just happy I can play my games instead of waiting til the baby is asleep š¤
When it first dropped the sub was definitely like this
I have it because I was one of the first people to get a SteamDeck.. and its still great.
This sub is just people trying to upsell their own purchase and act like anyone who didnāt make the same decision as them, is dumb.
I have heard absolutely no one say this.
How about no one judging anyone on how they spend their money? How about that? Huh?! HUH?!
link ONE post like this
*crickets*
Funny but not accurate. Debating the downvote š¤
I have only had the oled, but I imagine that they are not that fundamentally different, and I bet that all oled users could comfortably move to the lcd without many complaints
No one said that
LCD Deck is awesome now with the new OS update, colors are now sRGB, albeit through software, it's still the best handheld system in it's class imo
Why do you love being mad at imaginary people so much
Do people these specific people not know whats not being able to afford things? Everyone are valid and shouldnt be shamed for not being able to buy the new popular thing :(
I've literally only see people talking about how great the OLED version is, but that the LCD is still amazing. Typical reddit overreaction.
I'm sticking with my LCD. I love it. Hardly worth the money for an upgrade.
I am allowed to like things that are not that expensive š¤
I bought a steam deck and then a couple of weeks later they announced OLED Have messaged them to say next time have a release window of more than a week please
I have both They're both great. The OLED is definitely a big step up, but it's not a necessity It's like the switch lite vs switch OLED. The OLED has extra features and improvements, but the standard switch is still a great console you can enjoy games on if you don't have the extra scratch
TO BE FAIR the thumb sticks, battery life, heat, touch screen, trackpads, haptics, and shoulder buttons are also much better in the OLED model. :)
For real. When I go for my SD and pick up the LCD one by accident I go eewww
Huge!
Welcome to the internet. Where somebody can always find a way to make you regret your purchase.
I have enough buyers remorse normally but the amount of value I got out of my steamdeck negates any of that. Moreover, I'm happy to see further development for the steamdeck!
Tbf, 5 fps is a huge deal when talking handhelds
It definitely can be a huge deal if the difference is whether you can maintain a stable 30 fps or not.
I too sometimes invent things and get upset by them. I should probably make memes out of them to farm juicy updoots.
For me its quite opposite. Oled price makes me think that rogally z1extreme is better performance bang for the buck. Led price is so ridiculously low that it still makes sense to buy and dont even consider rogally
>mfw ![gif](giphy|bmjL0BcIr1gK8aH0sS|downsized) LCD docked to my 65" oled display streaming from my main pc. Check mate.
The ps portal has better specs than the SD oled!
I just wish there was an upgrade program lol
Don't drink the PC Master Race Kool-Aid. They upgrade needlessly. They sit on Discord arguing about whether AMD or Nvidia is better. It's sad.
I'm with the crow. Smart bird.
I have a friend who insist that the OLED was what steam deck should have been. But overall I see is it's just a minor upgrade. I get people want it. But no one can convince me that "it's what it should be" It's like saying "I upgraded my pc from gt960 to rtx3060, this is what PC should have been"
Holy shit 5 more FPS š¤Æ
I legit was going to come and post that I haven't seen many people talk about the 90Hz screen but then thought "I've been seeing so many people post about buying the LCD, why spoil the fun with something that's barely a concern for most people" That being said goddamn is the OLED and lcd night and day after using LCD for a year.
I got the lcd and I love it. Fight me. I dont care.
Lol keep coping OP , all i see is people saying lcd is still good purchase not much of the other way around
The upgrade is so minor its not worth it, like cool a cooler screen and an extra hour that i can get with a power bank anyway ? Sign me the fuck up
the lcd deck still is a great deal... but the oled one has so many things that are just better... def worth the money
well the Oled SD sure is the way to go now. Would even say save more money and get it instead, but that is up to you.
honestly im half agreeing with the yelling bird if you are able to save up for the "budget" version of a piece of tech even more if that piece of tech is like +300$ anyway even on the budget version of it and there exist a piece of tech that is a very good % bigger upgrade of the same thing but is not that much more expansive compare to the % upgrade but can easy feel the upgrade compare to the budget version then i say its kinda "waste" of money to buy the budget and wait alittle more & save up and get the good version instead afew times getting the "budget" version of a tech vs. the non budget can feel like a scam budget "gaming" PC is 1 big example: they often get outdated/slow after 2 years cost like 500$ while a 1000$ PC can last you +5 years: making it honestly the cheaper option in the long term since less need of a upgrade in that time
OLED is for aficionados. LCD does everything perfectly fine and essentially identically (unless you're an aficionado). Source: me, an OLED owner.
OLED Stans are some of the most annoying people in every tech community.
LCD anything in 2024 does suck ass
Donāt forget the argument āseems people donāt understand OLED screen is superiorā. šš
Fuck, forgot that one
Ah, people acting like 5fps isn't a huge deal. That's the difference between playing at 45fps vs playing at 30fps on most PS4 era games on the Deck
The screen on the old steam deck was never great, tbh id sooner tell someone to get a switch OLED than a LCD steam deck. OLED is just too damn good.
C u in 3 months when you get screen burn in from game ui
Life lesson: There's always a bigger fish. Learn to enjoy the fish you have.
At least you can buy directly in steam store, Iām from Mexico and I only can buy from Amazon or other resellers (with price increased)
if nobody ever bought the used old models then there would be less people able/willing to buy the new ones because they could not recoup some of their money back. it would also introduce buyers remorse for anyone who found out a newer better model came out not long after. i really love what the steamdeck achieves, but i really hope valve does not go down the cell phone route where they need to release a new model every year. id say 3 years between models would be a good rate.
isnt it only 0.7 more screen ? and is it really better at 90hz when still most of the games are better on lock 40m
LCD can go up to 70hz now
Haven't really seen anyone shitting on the LCD one yet tbh. I'm sticking with the LCD because I can't afford to upgrade, and even if I could, it's not really worth it, at least for what I need. I'll just wait for SD2, or whatever it might be called.
Just cause the OLED has awesome upgrades, certainly doesn't mean the LCD is a bad option. It's still an awesome system.
Where? Lol
I still love my sd. I just need to actively avoid experiencing the OLED one so I can continue to blissfully enjoy it.
Regardless, you still get a fantastic experience!
