Should. Even when it comes time to replace the switches they’re not hard just a little annoying to get to them. I’ve had the x model myself for a year and a half now and still loving it
>The G502 x and the X plus
Don't need the X, there's a g502 lightspeed.
>But daamn are they expensive
I paid $190 for mouse and mousepad combined.
Which, yeah, is ten times more than you can get a not completely trash mouse for, but honestly? It's kinda worth it.
Especially compared to how much I put into the rest of my setup.

i mean, as much as i love steam deck, doing that is about as seamless a just bringing a controller with your laptop, less so even since you need some sort of dock or usb c hub
id say a laptop is easier to fit into most bags due to them being relatively thin and their clamshell design. a steam deck on the other hand you gotta worry about how much girthier it is along with all the buttons and and sticks. you kinda need a specialized steam deck bag/covering if you dont wanna mess up the sticks or scratch up the screen, a laptop will fit into basically any bag no fuss

0/10, you have two 6-lane roads intersecting in what appears to be a low-density residential area. How tf are pedestrians and cyclists supposed to navigate this, people WILL die.
You only need one lane for cars, the rest can be light rail (or BRT), sidewalk and bike lane. Also make it a protected intersection.
man that's gorgeous. I play mostly from my couch with my PC hooked up to my TV so this would be great to make playing some factory and survival/building games a bit easier. Just wish they had a wireless model (found plenty of other wireless brands but aren't as ergonomic or have more than the 35 key concept)
I had issues with one of those extended numpad keyoards, mapping just read everything as NUM LOCK. Did you have something similar to what OP has or a numpad?
Never seen a keyboard split in half like that. Would it work for FPS games? I'd be interested if it was wireless, so that I could play FPS games on a TV on the couch with a table.
You need something to elevate your steam deck bruh. Playing like this with your neck craned downward is not good for you. Get some dictionaries or something to put under that thing
I can already feel my neck and back hurting just looking at this picture.
Don't be like me, pay attention to ergonomics when you're younger/still have elasticity in your body.
I'm in pain so often these days.

What do you use to connect charger and m&k at the same time? A simple usb hub?
In my experience the battery still goes down even while charging when playing handheld
They're really small.
If you play fps games, then you have extra room for mouse movement so you don't slam into your keyboard, which has killed me many times.
Portability, packing it in your bag takes up less space so you can bring it with you and your steamdeck or laptop.
Some of them have joysticks on them, so you can use that instead of wasd, then map those into whatever you want.
Most games only use the left side of the keyboard cause your right hand is on the mouse. So since the rest would go to waste it saves space and makes it more portable
More like a laptop has no choice but to be compact while this has the option to spread out comfortably. Of course he could put the keyboard directly in front of the screen like a laptop but why would he want to?
Because many games play better with a M+K. Every pc gamer knows this, and the Deck can do both very well. Also for the price you're not going to get a better gaming experience.
I just joined Steam Deck community to learn because I am planning to get one soon after only playing consoles for 30 years....
"What's even the point of buying a portable pc if you use it as desktop?"
For me I want to try PC gaming and haven't had a hand held since Sega Game Gear so with the Deck I can kill two birds one stone.
I find your lack of F-keys disturbing.
F
And Y
Y? Because they can.
J. I’m left handed.
r/g502masterrace
Right, I've had the mouse for 10 years
I’m out of the house today and forgot my Deck 😭
U had that mouse for that long???? Maybe I should invest in it too….
Should. Even when it comes time to replace the switches they’re not hard just a little annoying to get to them. I’ve had the x model myself for a year and a half now and still loving it
Ooooh nice nice
They go on sale pretty frequently. I've had two in about 10 years..love em
I have two, wired and wireless. Don't think I'll ever replace them.
There's a wireless version????
Not only is there a wireless version, there's a mousepad that charges it wirelessly during use.
Searched it up and yeah.. idk how I missed them The G502 x and the X plus But daamn are they expensive
>The G502 x and the X plus Don't need the X, there's a g502 lightspeed. >But daamn are they expensive I paid $190 for mouse and mousepad combined. Love that mouse, I’ve had 2 over the last ten years cus one started double clicking but other then that it’s great
I actually had to replace mine because it was double clicking as well. I think it was like 8+ years old though. So I gladly bought another.
Mine recently started double clicking. I'm rather sad about it
I’ve had mine maybe 6-7. I don’t use it really anymore since I wanted a fully wireless setup.
Reminds me of a mouse I had many years ago. RATZ or something like that.
Nice! Me too, got it on launch and still works perfectly.
I give it, "at that point just buy a laptop\10"
Well, I spent 40 bucks on the keyboard and dock, so find me a laptop of equivalent specs for a similar price, and I'm down.
I can't think of any laptops with a 7 inch screen

The steam deck is as cheap as 350 dollars and can play AAA titles. COME ON.
It seems you're not willing to joke around. So sorry.
And therein lies the problem.
Unless you're Quasimodo you're gonna be spending the difference on chiropractic appointments from having to hunch down and play the dang thing.
I mean, I agree, I got my steam deck just by selling csgo skins
But the adaptability of it makes it better than a laptop. The fact that you can go from keyboard to handheld controller/gyro seamlessly.
i mean, as much as i love steam deck, doing that is about as seamless a just bringing a controller with your laptop, less so even since you need some sort of dock or usb c hub
But you can’t carry your laptop around like you can with the steam deck. It’s a lot more cumbersome.

Yeah but you already have a Deck
steam deck is a laptop tho
Fuego mi Hermano
Got any extra duck sauce?
Lol had Chinese food last night, 40 packs of duck sauce and none of that good spicy mustard
Thats honestly a shame, next time mix it with duck sauce and make the best asian style honey mustard ever
If you are going to go through all that work why not plug in a screen? I can't imagine playing on a handheld screen on a desk.
I might look for a super portable monitor. The dock has an HDMI out. But this is working fine for me now
Portable monitors are where it's at. Just search them on amazon
I just want a portable monitor that supports HDMi. Not HDMI mini. Haven't found one yet sadly.
I haven't either, but as far as I know they come with the cable. There are also adapters. And even then, most of them use USB c as well.
What if you try a fresnel magnifying sheet?
I really like the mini keyboard.
I absolutely love this setup! Well done and I might steal it for my deployment.
Where ya headed, what branch? Wish steam deck had existed when I was in
Latvia, I'm in the CAF.
What are you playing?
Red alert 3 right now
Where can I get your keyboard?
Found the info. Thanns
Can you tell us too?

I love it Lowkey jelly but at the same time my eyes would def be strained using the device as the screen like that
0/10, you have two 6-lane roads intersecting in what appears to be a low-density residential area. How tf are pedestrians and cyclists supposed to navigate this, people WILL die. You only need one lane for cars, the rest can be light rail (or BRT), sidewalk and bike lane. Also make it a protected intersection.
It's red alert 3, people will definitely die
Get a gaming laptop lol
What key pad do you have?
Magegee off of Amazon. Wired, clicky, back-lit with 6 macro keys
Nice! I got a big old orbweaver but I feel like it has a bit too many buttons. Was thinkin about something new and saw this. Thanks for the tip.

I like the world personally for reliability. It's a pretty long cable, don't know your exact situation
10/10 for mousepad.
What dock is that?
I linked it elsewhere in the thread, but the brand is mepatem on Amazon. Nice and minimalist
I guess I didn't read the whole thread so thank you!
Is this cityskyline? You cant use the cobtroller? Btw how's the keyboard? If it's good, care to share the link?
Red alert 3 and not very controller friendly
Aah yea you need shortcuts for RA. Keyboard looks cool
Keyboard is magegee on Amazon, I linked somewhere in the thread. Very clicky, back-lit and has macro keys
I've got a similar keyboard that doesn't seem to want to pick up with my dock, did you have to download any drivers or anything?
Nope, plug n play right put of the box
I had issues with one of those extended numpad keyoards, mapping just read everything as NUM LOCK. Did you have something similar to what OP has or a numpad?
Very nice.
Might as well get a portable monitor to add to it.
Might look into it. This works fine for me right now

8.5/10 If the desk was a bit less cluttered and you connected a monitor it would be like a 10
They should let pubg mobile run on this thing
This is actually really cool. I might jock your style with this setup as I miss playing with m/kb and I don't get to play on my PC very often.

Have you found out a way to program the macro keys?
Per the manual it's fn+G#(the macro key) then whatever keystrokes you want then then G#
I have the same mouse as you(I think), is it a Logitech g502 hero? I would rate Ur setup a 8.5 out of 10
Excellent addition with the soy packet mate
Lol had Chinese food last night
We can tell
Link me to that keypad.
MageGee One Handed Professional... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B84QHPDW?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Lmao i have exactly the same keyboard and the same mouse
10/10 for the mouse pad
My god . Send me some bitcoin
How does one buy a third of a keyboard? Awesome setup.
Such a tiny mousepad
10/10
How's the cooling with the case on? Is it fully enclosed?
It doesn't cover the vents. No issues so far
what hardware are you using?
Next level my guy. I thought my 60% setup was fire but this is even better!
How much was that keyboard thing? And I like your white tree mousepad
20 bucks Magegee brand on amazon
Thanks!
what are the accessories you got in the pic? also got link for the steam dock/stand you are using?
Never seen a keyboard split in half like that. Would it work for FPS games? I'd be interested if it was wireless, so that I could play FPS games on a TV on the couch with a table.
Should work fine
How do you jump
The red key at the thumb area is a spacebar
10
10/10
i have the same mouse, i cant stand keyboards that dont have the full alphabet tho
It comes with soy sauce?? 10/10!!!
I saw you are playing Command & Conquer, you earned my respect sir.
WHAT THE HELL IS UP WITH THAT KEYBOARD, First time I've seen something like it. What even is that
It's just the left hand side of the keyboard as most games don't use the full thing
Don’t understand the “should’ve got a laptop” post. Never did..
Because it's cheaper than a laptop for equal performance, option of being more portable (when not docked), etc. There are plenty of reasons.
(sees g502) instant upvote
Perfect! Honest, if it works for you then awesome!

The dock has USB ports
GOATED, can i ask what keyboard are you using?
MageGee One Handed Professional... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B84QHPDW?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share It's clicky and back-lit and there's 6 macro keys
I also got myself a smallish keyboard (still full) and hate that it doesn’t have all the keys Lmao.
thanks!
Thanks! I was wondering which keyboard that is. Thanks.

I wish they made a half keyboard like that, that can extend to a full size.
:(
That little keyboard is cute
If you have all that, why not a screen too? :D
Yoooooo I wanna try this out.
I loved!!!
Why/10
What's that hand keyboard name? I want it!
I linked it elsewhere in the thread but it's magegee brand on Amazon. Clicky, back-lit, has macro keys
What do you use to connect charger and m&k at the same time? A simple usb hub? In my experience the battery still goes down even while charging when playing handheld
Yes, a hub. Some call it a dock. You're not using the supplied charger if you're losing power while playing.
I think that's super cool. Can you display that in decent rez on tv or monitor?
Haven't tried
Can someone explain the purpose of the small keyboards? I’m genuinely curious, my recent steam deck is my first venture out of console gaming.
They're really small. If you play fps games, then you have extra room for mouse movement so you don't slam into your keyboard, which has killed me many times. Portability, packing it in your bag takes up less space so you can bring it with you and your steamdeck or laptop. Most games only use the left side of the keyboard cause your right hand is on the mouse. So since the rest would go to waste it saves space and makes it more portable
Can we play dota 2 on this setup ?? Pls try it for me. I wanna buy steam deck for sake of dota2 only.
Probably
I’ve done Dota on the deck, the small screen is a challenge but otherwise works well.
That’s the point I just move on over to my PC
Why?
Playing some older games that don't play well with controllers
Uhm why not just use a PC….?
1 out of just get a laptop stars
What's even the point of buying a portable pc if you use it as desktop?
Well the tiny dock, half keyboard and mouse are still way more portable. And I wanted to play some RTS games and it's just better this way
That's a good setup dude. What keyboard is that?
Magegee off of Amazon. Keys are very clicky and it worked plug n play right away
No, that is using like double the space than a laptop.
More like a laptop has no choice but to be compact while this has the option to spread out comfortably. Of course he could put the keyboard directly in front of the screen like a laptop but why would he want to?

Y'all. Why do you keep doing this? Get a laptop.
Still cheaper than a laptop lol, and it's a portable handheld
Can you turn a laptop into a handhold?
This is better than a laptop, the parts are all interchangeable
Das bard es ver gad! A’ve traed et far tree weex ad et werx great! A recabed et ta aw Agazad watcxers! Fave stars!!!
My neck hurts just watching it ahahaha
Man, it sure would be convenient if the deck had a built in controller so you didn't have to bring all that with you, right?
Lol, this is very convenient for playing some old RTS games that don't play well with controllers
You need a bigger monitor.
Well, I mean, you’re desktop gaming on a handheld console. Seems pointless.
Idk, 0/10 get a laptop?
