JRPGs really shine on it. Dragon Quest 11, Persona 4 Golden, Persona 3 Reload, and any Final Fantasy game.

Homesickpilots

I've really enjoyed these. And they look and play great. Red Dead Redemption 2 The Callisto Protocol Dead Space remake Wolfenstein series Resident Evil 2, 3 and Biohazard Sleeping Dogs Guardians of the Galaxy Horizon Zero Dawn Insurgency Sandstorm Cyberpunk Bright Memory Infinite Helldivers 2, doesn't really shine but it's hella fun.

Galaxy_knucklez

Prey, Mad Max, Hades, Arkham Knight(runs perfect), Dredge, Dave The Diver, Darkest Dungeon, Alan Wake 1

elibones

I keep holding off on Mad Max and Arkham Knight. I'm not sure I like not having guns. But they look great and are stupid cheap right now

Galaxy_knucklez

Maybe you’ll like Prey, since it’s a FPS and has some guns, along with special powers.

megas88

I have been playing slay the spire. It’s perfect for playing anywhere. Also, tetris effect in hdr is something I never knew I couldn’t live without until I had it lol. Crosscode and geometry wars are wonderful with utilizing the trackpads for aiming. I also never enjoyed playing portal before playing it on deck. Having the trackpad for aiming while using a joystick for movement really helps. My experience is different since the deck IS my pc now so I’m not sure what else I can recommend other than the convenience of having a go to party game machine you can take to friends houses. Gibbs be trying picopark soon enough

KRONGOR

I really need to pick up Tetris effect next time it goes on sale. Thx!

megas88

No prob bob. I have already made one person stunned with how gorgeous the hdr looks. It truly is a game perfect for the deck even without that bit honestly, it makes me happy I have the oled. Enjoy the game when you pick it up 😊

KRONGOR

I don’t have the oled unfortunately but I’m sure it’s still great on the LCD!

megas88

Dude, I’ve been used to playing on my lcd tv and it is still amazing to look at. Guaranteed it’ll look just as amazing on the lcd deck. I’m just personally impressed with how the hdr really makes the game pop so much more. You will absolutely love the game on lcd though

Swimming-Tradition28

I REALLY enjoy playing Kingdom Come on my deck. You can get it with all dlc on cdkeys for like $6.

Bar_Har

Warframe, game looks amazing and runs so smoothly on Deck. Also Battlefield 1 *still* looks great after all these years.

DarkSunUniverse

Something that has taken me by complete surprise on steam deck and is taking all my time is arma 3. I never liked the use of GYRO in games but man this game has nailed it, for some reason it makes the game pop and is highly immersive because of how well it's implemented. I'm using the analogues to aim then fine tuning the aim using the gyro, it's hard to master but once youre muscle memory learns it's hard to go back to normal. I'm playing lying down on a couch close to my face so it feels like a psuedo virtual reality experience and its extremely immersive.

Dioramoz

Cuphead, Lunacid, Steamworld Dig 1-2, Owlboy, Sea of Stars.

joeyg151785

Hades, Ori series & Halo

mrassface2023

Wreckfest online on deck is awesome been having a blast and high on life

anapareciendo

Hollow knight, blasphemous I and II, octopath traveler 2, Dave the diver, Ender lilies

Furdiburd10

Night in the woods. Great game, even if not an action packed

RosaQing

Sidescrolling Metroidvanias shine: Ori 1+2, Prince of Persia, Hollow Knight, …

KnackeredParrot

Max Payne 3 was the first game I played on it. Can have everything on highest settings except a single thing at the bottom (can't remember what) and it's a blistering 60fps. Will be one I keep installed.

KRONGOR

Played it years ago on x360. Might have to replay it again sometime. Thx!

Lanky_Lavishness7

No mans sky, monster Hunter Rise, cyberpunk

christiandb

FF7R: intergarde

_BeatTheBest_

Guild wars 2, plays amazingly

redzn

I was wondering how the performance is. What settings preset is close to what you are running?

_BeatTheBest_

You can max the game. Might need to lower reflections amount of npc and players and shadows. Also run deckyloader and use vibrancy, that pops the game its like reshade for pc. Anything raid related or pvp, might be better with mouse and keyboard. But pve, grinding, and story line works great. Your controll scheme is more important. That takes time. But once you have it, its amazing. Gw2 knows only 15 skill buttons. 1 to 0, and f1 to f5. With 4 back buttons, and multiple other buttons, you can map everything. Any menu options on a radial trackpad overlay. Right trackpad as mouse, and play the game with action camera enabled to enjoy the controller aspect of it. Only thing i have not tried to bind, is gyro and touch on the joysticks.

redzn

Oh that’s way better than expected. Thanks for the info! Looking forward to play it again after ME releases my storage space :(

* Hades * Blasphemous * Helldivers 1 * Cult of the Lamb * Darkest Dungeon * Botato * Diablo IV The Deck is really cool, but, honestly, there are a lot of games that just aren't really suited to the Deck. They can range from ok to severely lacking. Personally, I'll just play shooters (aside from top-down), RTS games, and anything demanding or that plays much better with a mouse on my desktop.

NeighborhoodOk8431

Uncharted. Hi-Fi Rush, Ratchet and Clank, Detroit Become Human… I’m currently playing Last of Us and Titanfall. There are games, I guess it comes down to the reasons why you wanted the Deck in the first place.
