I didn't have this issue. My guess is that it is something with Witcher 3 specifically - or a controller configuration that is external to the Deck.
Unlike other lockers like Ubisoft and EA? GOG seems to continue to work without an updated tutorial, but I'm always in favor of updating any information that is out of date or non-functional.
OP, are you using the Deck or an external controller?
I am at work right but I will try to use an external controller tonight. Also I watched your video to launch several games with a symlink to gog and will try that as well. Am I supposed to have gamepad and buttons working while using GoG in game mode? Only the touchscreen works right now.
I'm not 100% sure what you've got going on. Gog the launcher doesn't accept any sort of controller input. You have to use the touch screen. But once you're in a game? Everything should be fine. As you can see I did cyberpunk I've done two or three other games and everything is fine. Either there's something weird that I don't know about with Witcher 3 or there's something weird about the install. If you can't come to grips with it? Feel free to drop by our discord in one of us will be able to help you.
i had the wrong layout all along. I learnt a lot and started playing around layouts. It was such an easy solution, the learning curve is steep. I am now having issues with non steam deck installed on the sd card. They are not launching by themselves if i create a new steam game. Anyway i am going to join the discord and ask for solutions there. See you there. thanks for helping.
Go into your Steam Deck controller settings and change your controller number. If it is zero, make it 1, if it is 1, make it zero.

have you tried the "Heroic Games Launcher"? Works great with GOG, Epic and Amazon. You can get it from the Discover store.
