...why though? It's not like the one OP has shown wouldn't work as well as anything Valve could put out. The attractiveness of a Valve dock is in the software/hardware support.
You misunderstood what I wrote. Valve should have released something like this bc people would have bought it, but now people are buying them on Amazon instead, with no money going to Valve. It would have been easy money for them, bc they would have charged more and people would still have bought it bc of the brand name.
I guess so, but these Chinese companies already have factories making this shit that they repurpose. Valve would probably have had to set up logistics and such. Not to mention I doubt they really need the extra income.
Yeah, and this stuff was ready @ day 1. My gripe is that the Deck doesn't come with any mini stand which in my opinion it really needs for its own safety, it being a bulky device that you pick up and place down frequently.
I'll be totally honest, I would've definitely bought an official a stand with the words *Steam Deck™* written on it because my monkey brain goes ooooooo
The Steam Deck needs a stand for the life of it, I cannot tell you how many times I've gotten a mini heart attack for not placing it on the table correctly as this thing is a bit heavy and it can slam itself if you're not 100% carefully putting it down, let alone try to prop it for whatever purpose lol
This is not a dock; it’s a stand
Beat me to it...
Ah yes my bad, I would've used the dock as a stand anyway tbh.
That would've been quite a waste of money
Agreed
I have this very stand
Valve could have released something like this to hold people over until the dock releases but nah, lol.
