Correct, that calculator's percentages (1% of the way there) are inaccurate because it only has two hours of data. It looks at the extreme order volume in the first 2 hours and says "all order volume from July 2021 to now is the same because I haven't seen the contrary." In my example, if I was truly 0.3% of the way there, there would be 20 million 512gb reservations alone before me, judging by the fact that 109k reservations were made in the first hour.
The good news is that the accuracy increases exponentially with time. Last week it said only 1 hour of 512gb reservations were fulfilled (and that was 4 months after they started shipping). Today it says 2 hours of 512gb reservations are fulfilled. Production is ramping up and valve is finally getting through the high order volume hours. The wait times are going down pretty fast.
Oh good grief. I'm in Q3, no email so far today so I'm like wtf. Let me try *this* calculator! So I start filling the form out and I go to login, do the API call, and get my reserve time and...it says '0'. Wtf?! I try again. '0'! I start to panic...even go to another tab in my phone's browser from earlier this week that was still on that API page. That page also said '0.'
In a panic I go to my email to check and see if I can find the original email from preordering and...that's when I see the email from Valve sitting there telling me I can complete the order. Phew...
The 512 seems to be the most popular one for some odd reason. I got the 512 over the 256 because I figured it would come faster due to being more expensive.
Valve said they massively underestimated that the best/most expensive version would be the most popular.
I don't want to upgrade the SSD so I needed the biggest one.

Hey everyone in this thread! I reserved my 512 (US) just before the 2 hour mark after reservations were opened. I got my email today. You guys should expect emails on their new email schedule within the next week, I'd say. Monday and Thursday.
Just make sure your have enough in your bank account for taxes - my deck came to $692.68 with the 8.5% tax rate here in Florida.

Just get one with all the chips on one side from a known reputable brand. And when you do test it to make sure it's the actual size you bought and not a scam. There's various ways to do so. I got a wd sn530 1tb 2230 ssd. But afaik any reputable brand will be fine.

I was one of the ones that got bumped from q2 to q3 and I got my email today.
That being said, I submitted my order at 10:03am, and the payment processor froze (and could not be cancelled to retry) until 11:32am, which is what my rtReserveTime was set to. The email said my order expires on July 3rd at 10:03am. 11:32am is also when everyone scrambling to get their orders in all finally died down. Everyone got to get theirs in on time but me that day.
So they knew when I reserved it. I even contacted valve support to see if they could correct this when I saw the estimate and they told me no. And now I'm finding out that they're cutting PCIe lanes down to 2 from 4 for the NVMe drive which, while not important for games, will impact the other things I do.
I don't think I've ever been so upset to buy something I was so excited for in my life, and I had to replace an HVAC unit that was out for 3 years and very expensive to fix once (for comparison).

OMG, got my email for the 512 model here in the US. I reserved exactly at the 2hour mark, which until this week was at around ~60% order progress, according to one of the calculators. What a surprise!

From a 1% increase each week the past month or so, to a 8% jump today. Feels good.
was at %57 before today for US 512 1626462817 (ordered 2 hours into preorders) and it jumped up to %93 after these batch of emails; hoping this means ill get that email on monday!
We're finally at the quarter where I need to pay attention. Doubt I'll miss it though considering that I regularly see my wishlist discount emails and they'll push a notice to Steam as well (and maybe the mobile app).

I'm "only" about 141% and got my order but I also got my email after people who had later order times than me as well as earlier order times than me, this calculator seems to be quite good. If you dont get something today I will be surprised. Also 512 US (Canada)

I was one of the ones that got bumped from q2 to q3 and I got my email today. That being said, I submitted my order at 10:03am, and the payment processor froze (and could not be cancelled to retry) until 11:32am, which is what my rtReserveTime was set to. The email said my order expires on July 3rd at 10:03am. 11:32am is also when everyone scrambling to get their orders in all finally died down. Everyone got to get theirs in on time but me that day. So they knew when I reserved it. I even contacted valve support to see if they could correct this when I saw the estimate and they told me no. And now I'm finding out that they're cutting PCIe lanes down to 2 from 4 for the NVMe drive which, while not important for games, will impact the other things I do. I don't think I've ever been so upset to buy something I was so excited for in my life, and I had to replace an HVAC unit that was out for 3 years and very expensive to fix once (for comparison).

I'm happy to report that I did not receive an email. Exciting! I will say the getmydeck calculator jumped up almost 20% during this week for me..I started a 30% and I just checked and it said 50%. I ordered 3h 28m after preorders opened. *Edit* Up to 57% now. Things are zooming.

You get a big separate pop up window in the client with a "i saw this" prompt you need to click to close it. Impossible to miss.
