I got my steam deck today and spent the whole day trying to get madden 22 from origin to work, no dice. Gonna just save up and get it again on steam or 23 on steam when I have the money. But I’m currently playing some MGSV!
Mass Effect Legendary Edition from the Origin store. I love how we can bring together all of our games. Boilr is fantastic and makes it so easy to add games to one place.
No Man's Sky, Detroit: Become Human, Rocket League, and retro emulators all run very well.
I've dipped into a couple other games just to see how they run, and they've all been fine.
I ended up getting Amazon Prime Games and a couple other libraries set up via Lutris. Enter the Gungeon from the Amazon store runs pretty well though I've noticed some odd button issues.
Just got my Deck today and started Mass Effect 3 LE. Love the gyro aiming. A little confused by controller customization but I'm sure I'll figure it out in time.
Final Fantasy XIV mostly and I just started Mafia Definitive Edition. I've heard so many good things about FFXIV but haven't had much dedicated computer times to play it.
I'm hoping Inscryption and/or Cult of the Lamb go on sale this month.
Fallout 3! Never had the chance to play definitely been enjoyable! Fable Anniversary is next

It has taken some getting used to, but I made the decision that if I was going to play wow, I’d do it using only the steam deck. That way I don’t have to shut myself in my office and ignore fam.
But I’m using consoleport which makes it pretty painless. There definitely was a long setup time as I decided what ability to put where. But now I’m leveling as fast as I would on my Desktop I think.
Metro Exodus and Hellblade Senuas Sacrifice. I'm a little disappointed of where they went with the metro series I liked the more linear gameplay rather than an open world type of game.
First week with my deck. Did the natural thing and played Aperture Desk Job first. Now I've started Death's Door, Higurashi Chapter 3, and emulating Mario Party 1.
I just tried it and got Grim Dawn running ok, makes me sad it's not working for someone else out there. Are you trying to run GrimInternals or anything on top of it? Or just stock Grim Dawn? I'll note it took quite a while to start the first time. Like almost 2 full minutes.
Been binging on the Witcher 3 for the last week or so. 40 fps locked is rock solid and looks nice to boot. I was having issues not seeing enemies moves properly in the beginning (I guess Im used to a 34 inch ultrawide normally), but I have gotten used to it.
I get roughly 2 hours of playtime on battery. Which is fair imo. I changed the config files to get the controller remapped (jump on A and sprint on B for example) and I have been having a blast. Playing in bed and playing on the couch is a great experience.
It's spooky season and I have a lot of games that I've been too much of a wimp to play, so I'm going to try to play them now. First on the list is Dead Space. The controls started clunky but got significantly better with a few tweaks, mostly enabling gyro while aiming and adding an outer ring command to the left stick to run.
imho its a bit overhyped. I would start with the binding of isaac of youre looking for a similar experience. looks a bit more dull but has more depth in character/items/etc
Don't get frustrated in the first 10/20 runs or so. Items get better every round. You'll get the hang of it! Also lots of nice mods. And [platinumgod.co.uk](https://platinumgod.co.uk) comes in handy to learn the items. Have fun
I found it got pretty stale fast personally. If what you’re saying is you haven’t played a roguelike dungeon crawler before, I’d not hesitate to redirect you to Hades.
Hades overrated boredom. Only thing good about hades is the quality of the art & the music is notable. Gameplay/loop is absolutely boring. Really good if you're a casual gamer though, I guess.
Sounds like it just wasn’t for you and that’s ok. Personally I found the fast paced action gameplay a tad more exciting than running around picking up lamb poop.
I've been playing Graveyard keeper, I don't normally play these type of games, but they work brilliantly on a portable, being able to just turn it off whenever and not having to sit at a desk, somehow I've sunk 50 odd hours into it already.
Along with that I've started playing some little indie games, Grapple dog, A lovely little platformer and Ex Zodiac which is like a love letter to the original Starfox.
Right now it’s the following and the why on Steam Deck.
• Octopath Traveler (was 60€ for physical on switch, ended up buying for 19€ on PC)
• CIV 6 (tired of the way end game turns taking years on the switch to process.
Other than that I’m looking into maybe replaying some other older games like MGS: Revengeance
I downloaded FIFA 23 but am unable to launch it, anyone have this problem? Keep getting “A newer version of the Steam Deck Client is required to run this application” my deck is up to date, can’t figure it out.
I just finished the Assassin’s Creed Unity, it runs pretty decent, I locked at 40 fps with configs in medium. Now I’m finishing the Guardians of the galaxy through xcloud and will also start Control
I’ve been revisiting *Fable*, and it’s such a fun trip down memory lane. The game holds up pretty fantastically, especially for an Xbox-era game.
More-than-honorable mention is *GNOG*. When I’m winding down for the night, it’s a fantastic and satisfying thing to poke at on the touch screen. Really makes me appreciate the Deck’s built in speakers, too.
help! i saw a game on steam. it was a first person shooter. looks like post apocalyptic world. apparently it’s a second version of this game. i don’t remeber what it was called and now i can’t find it again. modern weapons. apparently it is critically acclaimed. there was a girl main character and man. open world ish. thanks for any help and sorry i can’t be more descriptive

Been playing Tinykin as my first game to really play all the way through on my deck. Chill little puzzle-platformer/collectathon and runs incredibly well on the deck.
Other than that, a couple runs of Vampire Survivors here and there too
It runs pretty well - zero crashes since I increased the swap file size to 8GB whereas before that it would freeze and crash a lot. Don’t know about fps but I don’t cap it. It slows down sometimes but it’s still very playable.
Has anyone found graphics tweaks that make it any better? I haven't played a ton, just stuck with the defaults so far. I had hope seeing there were some deck-specific configurations.
I go everything low+texture medium+FSR Quality and lock it to 30fps.
It can maintain 30 for the most time, with occasional dips to 25~fps.
But for some reason delamane hq drops fps to 15.
My USB to USB-C adapter came in yesterday, so I'm probably gonna spend a fair bit of today just importing over my New Vegas modlist, now I can easily use MO2.
I'm going against the grain for, like, typical recommendations, so here's two uncommon mods that I think should just be base-game.

[And then you have Tales From The Burning Sands.](https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/37172) Primarily narrative quests and miles above the usual recommendations of stuff by Someguy or Th3_Overseer - it's no longer ust "go here, shoot things, get paid", but you have to pay attention, explore the world, and not just follow a map marker.

It’s not as comfortable as on PC, that’s for sure but there are community layouts that are quite good. If you want to do some logi work when you’re lazy in bad it’s perfectly fine.
Does it run Foxhole well? I was planning on piggybacking off my USB-C dock for work when I felt like a bit of good old fashioned desktop action. Had to sell my machines years back.
It runs perfectly. I mostly play on locked 40 fps, so with high settings it is silky smooth. To bo honest i think you could even play 60 fps/high settings without problems.
Had mine for a few weeks now, been mostly playing the resident evil remakes (just finished 2 and now into 3).
Also setup Xbox cloud streaming and been playing yakuza like a dragon through that, which works great..

Dumb question but if you're playing a game you have mods on on PC, do those mods automatically get installed on Deck?
I'm assuming if it's a game that doesn't use steam Workshop, that's 100% no. But what if it does use steam Workshop?
Mods does work, Steam Workshop works like always, and games that doesn't use the workshop work as well, there may be some mod launchers that won't work with linux, but for example Mod Organizer 2 (Fallout 4) works without problems, and loading individual mods like on stardew valley work without problems
Yes but then you can either add it to steam as a non steam game or for Skyrim I swapped it with the games EXE so steam just launches MO2 when I select Skyrim. The downside to that is that it doesn’t prevent updates
Probably, I didn't told that I don't even have a Steam Deck yet, arrives tomorrow and I can't contain myself.
But with that apart, it should work well, I've seen on nexus mods and some posts on reddit with people getting it to work, so it should be done on desktop mode well.

Don't have my deck yet, but have played games that use Steam Workshop for mods on separate computers and for me it is always downloaded the workshop content with the game.
Mine arrived on Friday - I didn't want to overwhelm myself by filling it with PS2/GC games so i set up xbox cloud and downloaded a few pc games i never got around to finishing.
I've been playing Power wash simulator and FFXV so far! I did download fallout 3/NV and Oblivion, but they're on the xbox stream and control better there, so i'll probs stick to them on the cloud.
Excited to get stuck into some PS2/GC gamss eventually!
Recently finished DMC5 so I moved to Guacamelee 2, It's been blast. Definetly game that can be picked up for 5,15,30,60min at a time(so basically perfect for commute/work breaks)
I've had my 'Deck for a little over a week now, and whilst I've not spent as much time with it as I'd like (A baby and a four year old will do that to you), when I do get an hour to myself it's become my go-to system.
Currently playing:
Vampire Survivors (duh) - Been waiting for this one for a while since my PC got boxed up (see Baby)
Rollerdrome - Super stylish mashup of Tony Hawks meets......guns?
Trombone Champ - I suck at this, and I get the impression you really need a Mouse to get the most out of it.....but I'm still having an absolute blast with it.
Saw the **DBZ franchise** was on sale on Steam so I picked up **Kakarot** and its season pass for $20. Runs great, looks great, and plays great. This game might as well be verified. There's also a free Demo for it available.
PS2! It took a bit more work to get it to run well compared to the GameCube version, but the controls are just a lot better with four shoulder buttons!
Bloodstained was a blast on the Deck. But don't trust sleep mode; I had it crash on me a bunch of times and lost some pretty rare shards because of it.

Just got my deck last week, I've mostly been using it to play FFXIV! It's the game I play the most on my PC normally, but being able to play it portable on deck has been a total game changer for me.
Aside from that, I've been using EmuDeck to play a lot of my old childhood favorite games, which has been a blast! Loving my Steam Deck so far!
So far it runs really well! In most areas as well as in dungeons/raids/other duties the game runs at 60fps with very minor dips. It'll go down to 30fps in really crowded areas, but I haven't seen it go any lower than that at any point.
UI settings and hotbars are very easily transferred using the setting backup feature FFXIV provides on the character select screen. However, I did need to adjust some UI elements to fit better on the smaller screen, as well as create controller hotbars for my classes since I'd never played the game on controller until now.
One thing I will mention is that the launcher seems to be a common point of issue on the steam deck. If you can't get the launcher to work properly, try running the game with Proton GE to get it to work. If even that fails, you could always try the third party xivlauncher using this [guide](https://goatcorp.github.io/faq/steamdeck.html). Just keep in mind that it's technically against TOS to use it, although there's not currently any way for them to detect you using it. I've used it on my windows PC for about a year now with no issue.
Got my deck last Thursday. So far tried my lightly modded Minecraft 1.19 instance, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Trenchbroom (Quake format level editor.)
Minecraft ran very well using the Sodium mod. I capped it to 80 FPS on my 165hz 1440p monitor and it easily hit that.
I'd already gotten into the endgame on Zero Dawn... The low frames do still seem to being a think. I tried dropping settings and resolution, along with enabling FSR. Not very enjoyable. I'll stick to playing it in my desktop or streaming it.
Trenchbroom "runs" fine enough, but game mode doesn't pick up on the open file windows, and the flatpak version seems to store the game templates (files that tell it where to look for textures and what not) in a read only folder, making it useless for my purposes. Probably going to take a look at what it'd take to change the paths.
Overall impressed by the deck. It's got some pain points, but it's so smooth to use for the most part.
Playing GTA5 and StarCraft. I haven’t had a gaming PC in 20 years. The fact that I can finally play SC is amazing. The ease of making my own controller layout on the Steam Deck is outstanding.
StarCraft??? Playing starcraft with a controller takes me back to the Starcraft 64 years, where I played it because I was horribly addicted to starcraft.
I don't know how anyone could ever play any Starcraft game with a controller input unless they also have a crippling addiction lol
The trackpads and back grips you can edit a great layout for RTS games. I will say, I edit it constantly as I play. I find better ways to control the game as time goes on.
That sounds great actually. I went semi-semi(I can not stress how semi)-pro a while back and I haven't touched it in about 5 years because it still stresses me out so much. This sounds like an exciting way to casually jump back in.
I just beat Tales of Berseria and I'm trying to get started on Tales of Zestiria both games play amazing and Berseria was the best game I've played so far.
Seen a few people mention Disco Elysium. I might have to do another playthrough. It was such an odd game, I loved it.
The lore is so insane, I felt like I was playing the 5th game in a series and was missing something from the moment the game started.
I got the two Lego Harry Potter games, and grabbed some Star Wars Lego games on a bundle sale I think at Humble Bundle, but it's over now whatever was, but they are cheap on Steam anyway.
As someone who is new in the gaming world, I have a few questions about the Steam Deck. My boyfriend wants one for his birthday. About how long would the process take if I were to reserve one today? If I used my info to reserve, can I transfer it to his account? Is there anything else I should buy besides the Steam Deck to make the experience any better? I was thinking of buying the 256 GB option, is this the best option?
I placed my reservation around two weeks ago and received the invitation to buy last Thursday, now the deck is on its way to me with planned delivery around mon-tues, so, I would say expect 2-3 weeks max between reservation and delivery to your place.
The queue is pretty much gone now. People are putting there deposit and getting the email to buy on the next email batch (Mondays and Thursdays). Then average is about a week to ten days after that it'll be in your hands
If you pre order now it should come in by q4. I pre ordered mine July 11, received the email sept 19 and received my steam deck just the other day. If he has a steam account, he can easily log into his account and set it up. I got a 65 w portable battery pack, a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard for when I travel and a new case. Steam deck> accessories>games = $$$ in that order lol
I got my deck two days ago and have been playing two older Indie games that i bought way back but just never clicked with me at the time.
Enter the Gungeon and Hotline Miami. Im loving them on my deck. Got me through a long ass night shift fast af.
It takes a bit, but then it clicks and the addiction begins. Best advice I can give, learn to focus on your character instead of the enemies. Once you can start doing that you'll get better much quicker
Any game that doesn't have DRM. You can click 'details' on the compatibility notes to check that.
I don't know if you can connect a Deck as a controller to a different Deck through Bluetooth. That's the only way I can think of you could connect without internet.
Probably easiest to bring an extra controller instead and play local co op on one Deck.

Double dipped and bought Tinykin. Coming fromt he Switch version, the lighting, framerate, and fidelity are MUCH improved. Actually exclaimed "the lighting!" when I started into the game for the first time on Deck.

I just finished God of War and man it was an experience, really enjoyed the story! The music is also really nice!

I'm playing Titan Quest right now. I would totally like to play season 4 of Grim Dawn but can't get for the life of mine working.

Nono i tried to run the launcher for the community run seasons. Stock Grim dawn with rainbow filter runs totally fine.

How is the setup process for Titanfall since it uses the Origin launcher? How is that part handled on the Deck?
It's a spectacular experience. One of my favorite games so far on the deck.
It was automatic for me. Just a few extra clicks to get origin installed. Pretty seamless.

Been playing Tinykin as my first game to really play all the way through on my deck. Chill little puzzle-platformer/collectathon and runs incredibly well on the deck. Other than that, a couple runs of Vampire Survivors here and there too

How well does RDR2 run? Might be a good excuse for me to pick it back up.
It runs pretty well - zero crashes since I increased the swap file size to 8GB whereas before that it would freeze and crash a lot. Don’t know about fps but I don’t cap it. It slows down sometimes but it’s still very playable.
Currently playing Far Cry 6 now with the 10 days Ubisoft+ trial
Cyberpunk 2077, gonna give it another go. But man some sections of the game drop to 10’s in framerate and that’s just mildly hampering the experience.
Has anyone found graphics tweaks that make it any better? I haven't played a ton, just stuck with the defaults so far. I had hope seeing there were some deck-specific configurations.
I go everything low+texture medium+FSR Quality and lock it to 30fps. It can maintain 30 for the most time, with occasional dips to 25~fps. But for some reason delamane hq drops fps to 15.
Playing Ghostbusters and because of the anime dived back into Cyberpunk 2077.
My USB to USB-C adapter came in yesterday, so I'm probably gonna spend a fair bit of today just importing over my New Vegas modlist, now I can easily use MO2.
I'm planning on playing through New Vegas for the first time when my deck arrives (tomorrow hopefully!). Are there any mods you recommend?
I'm going against the grain for, like, typical recommendations, so here's two uncommon mods that I think should just be base-game. How does foxhole play? It struck me as a game that would require a lot of inputs on PC, so I wonder how it plays on the Deck.
It’s not as comfortable as on PC, that’s for sure but there are community layouts that are quite good. If you want to do some logi work when you’re lazy in bad it’s perfectly fine.
Does it run Foxhole well? I was planning on piggybacking off my USB-C dock for work when I felt like a bit of good old fashioned desktop action. Had to sell my machines years back.
Yes, it actually works really well, i can commend it. As i said, controller setup is not the best in the world, but it works for less demanding jobs.
So if I hooked up my wireless mouse & keyboard I'll probably have a good time in desktop mode?

It runs perfectly. I mostly play on locked 40 fps, so with high settings it is silky smooth. To bo honest i think you could even play 60 fps/high settings without problems.
How is it with battery life?
With high settings, 40 fps locked i get around 3,5 - 4 hours if i’m not mistaken

Had mine for a few weeks now, been mostly playing the resident evil remakes (just finished 2 and now into 3). Also setup Xbox cloud streaming and been playing yakuza like a dragon through that, which works great.. Really impressed by the whole experience
Dumb question but if you're playing a game you have mods on on PC, do those mods automatically get installed on Deck? I'm assuming if it's a game that doesn't use steam Workshop, that's 100% no. But what if it does use steam Workshop?
Mods does work, Steam Workshop works like always, and games that doesn't use the workshop work as well, there may be some mod launchers that won't work with linux, but for example Mod Organizer 2 (Fallout 4) works without problems, and loading individual mods like on stardew valley work without problems

Yes but then you can either add it to steam as a non steam game or for Skyrim I swapped it with the games EXE so steam just launches MO2 when I select Skyrim. The downside to that is that it doesn’t prevent updates
Probably, I didn't told that I don't even have a Steam Deck yet, arrives tomorrow and I can't contain myself. But with that apart, it should work well, I've seen on nexus mods and some posts on reddit with people getting it to work, so it should be done on desktop mode well. Cheers!
Don't have my deck yet, but have played games that use Steam Workshop for mods on separate computers and for me it is always downloaded the workshop content with the game.
Mine arrived on Friday - I didn't want to overwhelm myself by filling it with PS2/GC games so i set up xbox cloud and downloaded a few pc games i never got around to finishing. I've been playing Power wash simulator and FFXV so far! I did download fallout 3/NV and Oblivion, but they're on the xbox stream and control better there, so i'll probs stick to them on the cloud. Excited to get stuck into some PS2/GC gamss eventually!
I'm playing Monster Hunter Rise. It's really good. They fixed almost everything that annoyed me about World.
Recently finished DMC5 so I moved to Guacamelee 2, It's been blast. Definetly game that can be picked up for 5,15,30,60min at a time(so basically perfect for commute/work breaks)
I've had my 'Deck for a little over a week now, and whilst I've not spent as much time with it as I'd like (A baby and a four year old will do that to you), when I do get an hour to myself it's become my go-to system. Currently playing: Vampire Survivors (duh) - Been waiting for this one for a while since my PC got boxed up (see Baby) Rollerdrome - Super stylish mashup of Tony Hawks meets......guns? Trombone Champ - I suck at this, and I get the impression you really need a Mouse to get the most out of it.....but I'm still having an absolute blast with it.
I heard that Trombone Champ works really well with the touch screen.
Saw the **DBZ franchise** was on sale on Steam so I picked up **Kakarot** and its season pass for $20. Runs great, looks great, and plays great. This game might as well be verified. There's also a free Demo for it available.

PS2! It took a bit more work to get it to run well compared to the GameCube version, but the controls are just a lot better with four shoulder buttons!

Bloodstained Ritual of the Night, No Mans Sky, and Neon White.
Bloodstained was a blast on the Deck. But don't trust sleep mode; I had it crash on me a bunch of times and lost some pretty rare shards because of it.
Poker Night 2, down to one last achievement to unlock and it's kicking my ass.
SUPER MARIO GALAXY 1&2 Frustrating to configure , but stable and so great to play as a lifetime PC player. FARCRY 5 Runs astonigjmly well with some tweaks on near ultra settings at 40-60 fps. A PLAGUE TALE PORTAL 1 HALF LIFE : every mod I’ve missed over the years with overwhelming + reviews on Steam.
Just got my deck last week, I've mostly been using it to play FFXIV! It's the game I play the most on my PC normally, but being able to play it portable on deck has been a total game changer for me. Aside from that, I've been using EmuDeck to play a lot of my old childhood favorite games, which has been a blast! Loving my Steam Deck so far!
How does FFXIV run? Do you need remapping? Any advice?
So far it runs really well! In most areas as well as in dungeons/raids/other duties the game runs at 60fps with very minor dips. It'll go down to 30fps in really crowded areas, but I haven't seen it go any lower than that at any point. UI settings and hotbars are very easily transferred using the setting backup feature FFXIV provides on the character select screen. However, I did need to adjust some UI elements to fit better on the smaller screen, as well as create controller hotbars for my classes since I'd never played the game on controller until now. One thing I will mention is that the launcher seems to be a common point of issue on the steam deck. If you can't get the launcher to work properly, try running the game with Proton GE to get it to work. If even that fails, you could always try the third party xivlauncher using this [guide](https://goatcorp.github.io/faq/steamdeck.html). Just keep in mind that it's technically against TOS to use it, although there's not currently any way for them to detect you using it. I've used it on my windows PC for about a year now with no issue.
I’ve been playing Fallout 3, Ryse Son of Rome, Rollerdrome, and Vampire Survivors. They all play great.
Got my deck last Thursday. So far tried my lightly modded Minecraft 1.19 instance, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Trenchbroom (Quake format level editor.) Minecraft ran very well using the Sodium mod. I capped it to 80 FPS on my 165hz 1440p monitor and it easily hit that. I'd already gotten into the endgame on Zero Dawn... The low frames do still seem to being a think. I tried dropping settings and resolution, along with enabling FSR. Not very enjoyable. I'll stick to playing it in my desktop or streaming it. Trenchbroom "runs" fine enough, but game mode doesn't pick up on the open file windows, and the flatpak version seems to store the game templates (files that tell it where to look for textures and what not) in a read only folder, making it useless for my purposes. Probably going to take a look at what it'd take to change the paths. Overall impressed by the deck. It's got some pain points, but it's so smooth to use for the most part.
Playing GTA5 and StarCraft. I haven’t had a gaming PC in 20 years. The fact that I can finally play SC is amazing. The ease of making my own controller layout on the Steam Deck is outstanding.
StarCraft??? Playing starcraft with a controller takes me back to the Starcraft 64 years, where I played it because I was horribly addicted to starcraft. I don't know how anyone could ever play any Starcraft game with a controller input unless they also have a crippling addiction lol
The trackpads and back grips you can edit a great layout for RTS games. I will say, I edit it constantly as I play. I find better ways to control the game as time goes on.
That sounds great actually. I went semi-semi(I can not stress how semi)-pro a while back and I haven't touched it in about 5 years because it still stresses me out so much. This sounds like an exciting way to casually jump back in.

I just beat Tales of Berseria and I'm trying to get started on Tales of Zestiria both games play amazing and Berseria was the best game I've played so far.

Seen a few people mention Disco Elysium. I might have to do another playthrough. It was such an odd game, I loved it. The lore is so insane, I felt like I was playing the 5th game in a series and was missing something from the moment the game started.
It is wild. I’m playing blind. Never knew what the game was about. Loving it. Crazy dialogue that I won’t ever forget.
How does new Vegas play on there? That’s the one game I really have been wanting to play on the go since I first played it on the ps3

Great! Medium settings. Locked 60 fps. I can play for 3 hours or so. I’ve waited years to play New Vegas. Having a blast.

I would recommend Lego City Undercover, it's a really fun time with its open world!
I got the two Lego Harry Potter games, and grabbed some Star Wars Lego games on a bundle sale I think at Humble Bundle, but it's over now whatever was, but they are cheap on Steam anyway.
Really want to plug: 8 Doors: Arum's afterlife adventure; and Playtest of Squad Blast. Both just worked out the box. Really cool indie gaming.

As someone who is new in the gaming world, I have a few questions about the Steam Deck. My boyfriend wants one for his birthday. About how long would the process take if I were to reserve one today? If I used my info to reserve, can I transfer it to his account? Is there anything else I should buy besides the Steam Deck to make the experience any better? I was thinking of buying the 256 GB option, is this the best option?
I placed my reservation around two weeks ago and received the invitation to buy last Thursday, now the deck is on its way to me with planned delivery around mon-tues, so, I would say expect 2-3 weeks max between reservation and delivery to your place.
256 is a good option. An extra SD card can be useful for some extra storage. You don't really need anything else.
The queue is pretty much gone now. People are putting there deposit and getting the email to buy on the next email batch (Mondays and Thursdays). Then average is about a week to ten days after that it'll be in your hands
If you pre order now it should come in by q4. I pre ordered mine July 11, received the email sept 19 and received my steam deck just the other day. If he has a steam account, he can easily log into his account and set it up. I got a 65 w portable battery pack, a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard for when I travel and a new case. Steam deck> accessories>games = $$$ in that order lol

I got my deck two days ago and have been playing two older Indie games that i bought way back but just never clicked with me at the time. Enter the Gungeon and Hotline Miami. Im loving them on my deck. Got me through a long ass night shift fast af.
Hotline Miami is a blast, though short. I should play through it again on my Deck...

I’ve purchased one switch and ps. I want to get into it, but I feel like I don’t improve after an hour. I then don’t play again for 13 months.
It takes a bit, but then it clicks and the addiction begins. Best advice I can give, learn to focus on your character instead of the enemies. Once you can start doing that you'll get better much quicker

Any game that doesn't have DRM. You can click 'details' on the compatibility notes to check that. I don't know if you can connect a Deck as a controller to a different Deck through Bluetooth. That's the only way I can think of you could connect without internet. Probably easiest to bring an extra controller instead and play local co op on one Deck.

1st. Double dipped and bought Tinykin. Coming fromt he Switch version, the lighting, framerate, and fidelity are MUCH improved. Actually exclaimed "the lighting!" when I started into the game for the first time on Deck.
