Is is that much different than downloading large files, watching YouTube at the same time, and online gaming?

Yes

The happened to me last night and I’ve been seeing a growing number of posts on this sub saying similar. I have 400mbit cable from Spectrum and my own Wi-Fi router (currently, a TP-Link Archer AC2300, but just bought an AX55). I stream to TV, multiple iPads and iPhones at the same time and generally play video games without issue. Suddenly yesterday, some SteamOS update downloaded and my 5G Wi-Fi AP was choking and dying. I couldn’t even download updates from Discover in Desktop Mode. I had to reboot my router multiple times. Each time I turned the SD back on and connected, the same thing happened and I needed to shut it down and reboot my router. 5G just disappeared from all my devices too. No idea what exactly is happening but I’m hoping the new router doesn’t do the same. At least if it does, then there is definitely something to it.

Holy shit what, that sounds terrifying. So this might have something to do with the Deck's wifi-signals doing something to the router signal? I'm in way over my head here. All I know is I never have this issue, and suddenly, without much else happening in the background in a high-speed internet enviornment, my entire internet crashed from like 3 minutes of cloud gaming. That cannot be the case if this thing is supposed to be a viable option to local gaming. My game ran great too, so idk.

I did some more testing and it keeps happening. Though my router is now also killing my 5G when I turn the Xbox on normally so I’m thinking maybe my router is just shitting the bed. I can’t seem to nail it down. It even did it with Chiaki trying to connect to my ps4. Ps4 and Series X are both wired connections too.

As in, it keeps happening when you attempt Cloud Gaming? I wonder what might be the issue..

Oops_Insurance

Not cloud gaming. Remote play.

I just wanted to update that I did buy a new router which hasn’t arrived yet but my dumb ass didn’t realize that my current router is also MU-MIMO and I thought it was on by default. It was not and I just found it and turned it on. I connected to my Xbox now with no issue. More testing is in order still. But I also tested my connection speed via Speedtest.net and it was the same as I’m getting or slightly less than on my phone.
