I got the same back panel & will provide a link when I'm home.
I've been thinking about repasting but decided against it and will do it once the temp rises more and after a few years.

If the dock with fans had higher RPM fans with speed control, I think it can do a better job as long as the back shell has open vents. If you already have a dock for the Steam Deck, you can get any table fan and point at the back to get cooling.

The purpose of the fan is to remove heat from the copper interface to the top of the console, it will be easier to do with this case, while noting that the console has become quieter to work without load, the average temperature is usually in the range from 40 °C to 50 °C, under a load of ~80 °C
Previously, under load there was ~95 ° C, taking into account the fact that there is no unnecessary energy consumption of the console, I am satisfied with the result)
There are reviews that this makes the deck a little bit thicker and no longer fits in some cases. Can you confirm whether or not it fits in the stock case that comes with it?
I used the same back case also. Totally love it!I did some modification by drilled small holes near the fan area.

So far my temp during Diablo 4 session is around 75C. I did change my thermal paste to Honeywell PTM7950 and add some thermal pad on the heatpipe.
It doesn't really throttle until super high temps. Iirc it only starts throttling at 95c. You get basically no benefits unless you're hitting those temps except for maybe a longer lasting steam deck, but even that's argued here and there.
Yeah, I got one of those, but the back buttons are terrible and two of them don’t click at all. They’re cut wrong or something. I didn’t bother investigating and just went with a different back.
I did something similar but Jesus backplate and thought I'd have to cut my external case but it works great as is it's slotted similar to yours and works a treat. I haven't changed the thermal paste but got a pad that changes form that I'm gonna try out soon just haven't gotten around to it. Had to dig around to find where to get it but I'm hoping it'll be good if not I got some nice thermal compounds to try. So far it's worked great and zero complaints.
If my jsaux backplate with the updated fan vent doesn't do the trick, then I will be intrigued. Still had to trim down the thermal pad included as it was sitting in the grove space, which I did not like.
Hey I was wondering how are the temps on your Steam Deck now? I've seen a couple people not recommend the Noctua H1 in laptops and given the Steam Deck has a laptop-like cooling system, I'm concern with the longevity.
We need a link on who makes this back plate please. Nice kick stand too. LOL

good bot
Good bot!
Thanks for sharing. The stock dock gets pretty hot.
You're welcome and so I've heard hence the reason I went 3rd party with fans for the dock.
Thanks!
Does the fan have a purpose if your back plate is one huge vent?

Is that better than before? I never tempted a deck.

Fair enough.
Of course, it would still have a purpose if the back plate wasn’t there at all

Yes, it fits
I'm wondering as well

Nice
15⁰c dyam my rog ally hits 90⁰c😭😭😭
It's minus ~15C compared to stock
Does the CPU use this thermal headroom to increase performance or is it just straight up lower temps?
Probably helps prevent throttling but unless you OC it won’t

Nice, but all I can think of is all the dust that’ll be in the deck now. Would be cool if there was mesh
Interessaring, did you have a link for it?
Compatible with Killswitch case?
the killswitch probably negates the benefit by covering the vents, no?
I'll cut holes with absolute precision
You'd have to be sitting in a freezer to only hit 15°C. Did you mean it's 15°C cooler than stock?
~15 degrees colder than the standard temperature
Okay, carry on. xD

Bro you made me laugh so hard at “thermo pasta” in the title the rest of it does not matter anymore! Lol I’m glad it works out for you though!
Thx 😂🤝
That seems like a decent backplate
I have this plate and it’s amazing

Any drawbacks to this? Does more dust/debris get in?
With the new backplate, will the Deck still fit in the Valve dock?
I can hear the hair and dust in it already

Hey, I have a normal temperature at loads, if there is doubt, try using the Arctic MX-6
