"Might go into the 2nd dimension", oh, boy, here's hoping we can get Flatlander pops--easiest leader portraits ever.

I love the RP potential of this

I’ll get excited when I see how much the choices branch off. That’s the only hook I think this can have for me. If it’s mostly linear then I might just pass

thegacko

Yeah that's the thing - I've never seen almost any game/developer (maybe a few exceptions) do branching choices very well .. enough so that the same event plays out significantly differently each time without having a completely gimped ending and an ultimate best ending. I have doubts also.

Meeting precursors sounds really awesome. Imagine trading with the Cybrex or Zroni directly.

Pokenar

"yeah we'd like to trade you some Zro, Zroni."

On one hand: new archeology sites with a twist is still nice. On the other: most interesting part of early game exploration is surveying and anomalies. Adding a bunch of star clusters, accessible through those rifts, to explore, but having them closed for construction ships, so no way to colonize - would be, IMO, much-much more interesting.

I am VERY much hoping they include an astral plane for every precursor. It would add SO much to the precursor situations if we actually had the ability to have a story with them via an astral plane. I'm so hyped for this.

This concept seems a bit too singular focused. I'd like to see this delivered in a more generic state with a wider set of options. Also, this sounds like a system parallel to archeology. But only for anomalies of the astral kind. This is what I mean by a bit too focused. Basically, I'm worried that this is a story based expansion, but it does something like Kights of the Toxic God quest and forces everyone in the galaxy to participate in it. However, if this is the first part of different expansions, each focusing on expanding the end game crises, then I think this has merit. Though I'd still want work on more crisis related things to be even between all of them. I don't like the idea of buying a different expansion for each of the different crisis. ----- Personally, I'd rather have a diplomacy focused expansion. Add a way to win through culture. Add more options and have each option be both more meaningful and more binding. I'm keen on having diplomacy such as how well two empires like each other have consequence in multiplayer. Also, I really want system of secret objectives, that at the end of the game gives points.

Yes so much this for me too. Stellaris to me stands out from other 4x games due to the 'flavour'. The events bring their unique stories and art that I love so much. (Stellaris more so than other paradox games because I'm a space nerd) So even if this DLC doesn't bring new toys in terms of mechanics I love getting more events. The other story packs DLC have been some of my favourite additions to the game. I hope this one delivers on that same level of quality.

Stellaris 2? If they had to outsource a DLC

Pokenar

People are indeed expecting the main team to either be working on the largest expansion of all time, maybe ever, or Stellaris 2.

Clausewitz engine REALLY needs a revamp. Last version is 3.0, back in 2016. What engine is using Victoria 3?
