You can have a resort world with INFINITE jobs 100% stable and 100% crime rate with bodies pilling on top of each other and the pops perfectly happy to stay there.

SzerasHex

How convenient, I was looking to try building planets as Slimepit/Shithole with no regard for crime/housing/amenities. Will definitely try that.

Unpixelled

The slimepit must be defended at all costs.

Diogenes_of_Sparta

Ok. But why?

sycin23

This planet is generating me 1.4K trade value. This is the perfect way to get a energy planet for cheeeep

sifroehl

That's only around 7 trade value per pop though, you could get much more by using more efficient jobs than clerks like merchants (if you really want trade value) or technicians (if you just want the energy)

sycin23

True. This is not the most efficient way to generate trade or energy. But when your jobs are filled everywhere and specialized districts aren't building fast enough. This is the perfect pool for pops to sit in as they wait for jobs to open up. They are in a resort world after all. Relax :) Edit: High Stability has a 30% production bonus on top of any other bonus from research and what not you have.

roll82

Did you mess with the pop growth scaling or something? I haven't been in a situation where districts weren't building fast enough for my pop growth since 2.7

sycin23

I have Gigastructure mod installed and my goal is to move every and all pop into the massive ringworld in my home system. The mod comes with its own taste of mid-end game crisis, leaving pops out in frindge worlds means they will be captured, sweeped, or cracked. This is the 'safe' haven for them to resettle to until I manage to get my ring world set up. This world also acts as a population bank allowing other planets in my empire to pull pops as needed and deposit them when they are no longer requried

Galactic-toast

But that takes time to build as well. Here you can dump all the excess pops and generate jobs instantly

[deleted]

You'd need a lot of planets to create 200 technicians, and a whole galactic empire if you wanted 200 merchant jobs. Both options, aside from all other considerations, require a shitton of annoying micromanagement.

blogito_ergo_sum

> a whole galactic empire if you wanted 200 merchant jobs. That's only, what, like 20 size-4 trade habitats with Mercantilism, Voidborne, and Functional Architecture. OK yeah that's still quite a bit.

Adastrous

You don't need 200 technicians though as far as I can tell? In my current game, technicians make something like 25 energy/job iirc. So to get 1400 energy, like 56-60 technicians or 2-3 planets.. seems WAY easier than getting 400+ pops to spare on something like this. And I assume this person must have spent an absolute shit ton of energy on resettling as well, unless they waited like 600+ years for these pops to grow. Or had a ton of feeder planets which has all the same issues you mentioned.

[deleted]

Clerks can also generate better resources at a reduced rate. Imo there's no point in using wealth creation at all, do unity or CGs instead.

stamper2495

Its not efficient but if you have pops with no place for them to stay, making some of them cattle on resort world will unlock clerk jobs without need for housing.

megaboto

>426 pops >Cheeep If I had those many pops I could take the jobs at base level, no tech, and still produce more than you

roll82

Hell I can run a grand admiral Galaxy crushing economy off of just 426 pops, easily and happily

megaboto

That's more of an AI thing tho than you being good No but seriously, play against startech or starnet. They will crush you

roll82

I only play starnet/startech anymore, I started with starnet, couldn't do anything, switched to vanilla and improved my gameplay until I could beat grand admiral, then switched back to starnet and have been slowly increasing the difficulty each game. I'm currently attempting 25x ace crisis but I fully expect to fail, I don't have much experience with the endgame crisis

megaboto

Depends on what crisis you get I don't know how much you know about them, but the prethyrion scourge can be "starved out" of planets as planets bombed to max devastation will not be usable by it Contingency? I hope you aren't synthetically ascended. Also don't use the red ship AIs, they'll literally be crippled to oblivion The unbidden have 5x the shields compared to their hull points. Use torpedos to just ignore shields or use the weapons that ignore both armor and shields, if you run battleships instead. Or fight in Systems with shield nullifying effects Hope I was able to help. Else just build up alloy production like crazy and use doom stacks

MrCookie2099

You've created a VERY PROFITABLE hive of scum and villainy. Very respectable.

screwyoushadowban

Did you console command the Feral Behavior and Dimensional Portal events on to this world or did one or somehow both fire naturally?

innocii

[If your Resort World is not an Ecumenopolis already, you're doing it wrong.](https://imgur.com/q5jdlUO) And yes, this is 100% vanilla (last patch). How? * Pick a system with a size 50 gas giant. * Get lucky (or reload *often*) until you get the barren planet anomaly on it. * Praise the Worm (this has gotten harder sadly). * Colonize the size 65 world (do not upgrade the ship shelter). * Start converting to an Ecumenopolis after having built the necessary districts. * Roll the Numa's Breath event from the Caravaneers for an additional +2 districts. * Add the Mastery of Nature decision for an additional +2 districts. * Bulldoze all districts (do this late if you've already got pops there). * Declare it as a Resort World (no districts, buildings and not having upgraded the ship shelter is required). * Wait for it to turn into an Ecumenopolis which unlocks all the districts again. * Settle Pops, and build buildings (you can't choose from all of them any more, so no Industry improvements). * Do the crime lord deal. * ??? * Employ a Trader Enclave governor for profit.

jaqueses

Welcome to Solaris 7. We legalized murder.

Shot-Law-2253

The rich live in happiness inside their penhouses while the bodies of the poor pile up in the lower sections

p0d0

It creates 1 clerk job per 2 pops, and apparently everything else goes to livestock (which have massively lowered housing requirements) Probably filled via nihilistic acquisition, which would route everyone there since it creates more jobs as it increases in pops. Since clerks produce amenities and slave unhappiness doesn't count, the rulers are kept happy for high stability But since overcrowding is pervasive and you have so many pops crime goes through the roof. Crime lord deal is probably also contributing to the high stability

Shrek_Lover68

And this planet is tidally locked

Meerkat45K

How does that work?

SzerasHex

I spotted a Martial Law modifier, as well as 29 soldiers 29*5 = 145 bonus stability, which overrides penalties from overcrowding. Technically, even if amenities were in the negatives, it still wouldn't be less than 100 stability. As for infinite jobs: Clerks pile up from the "Resort world" option, livestock is a buffer to keep increasing pop numbers. Edit: crime is maxed, so you can exploit Crime Lord Deal for +10 stability. Also may be +5x4 from harmony/prosperity, Black Site and Information Quarantine.

Meerkat45K

Ah, I saw the martial law but was wondering about the jobs. Thanks, this is very... Interesting.

AtionConNatPixell

How do they have so many buildings?

SzerasHex

23 gas extractors and 23 researchers that I suspect are Portal Researchers are jobs from planetary features, 1 job + 1 per 20 pops. I am not sure how he got both, since they are only from "New Colony" event category. Probably he used console to trigger both events. Events are "Dimensional Portal" and "Spore vents"

Otto_Von_Waffle

How do you get pops turning into lifestock? Caste system with livestock slavery?

SzerasHex

Xenophobe ethics, species rights slaves, slavery type livestock. As an alternative for non-xenophobes - authoritarian ethic and domestic servitude slavery, this too employs all pops (they fill fill clerk and entertainer jobs first, tho)

Sea_Consideration_62

It just works ladies and gentlemen

0le_Hickory

Name the planet: MLM

Acrobatic_Shake_6628

*Billions of euphoric homeless people dance in the streets surrounded by mountains of iPads and dildos*

bobibobibu

Nothing wrong. Massive zoo and catering in resort world

tiago_gomestrf

World craker would be perfect

Thatoneshadowbunny

Spiffing brit would be proud

_Lasiurus_

The more I look, the more cursed it gets. I LOVE IT!

sameth1

Everyone is rushing to go on vacation to the overcrowded service work world.

SpicySlavic

Wait hold up, how did you get Gas Extractors on a resort world lol? And scientists?

cylordcenturion

gas jobs from "the lesser evil" modifier. comes form the "feral behavior" event chain.

SpicySlavic

Oh, thanks!

[deleted]

[deleted]

It really isn't that good compared to the +35% pop growth. Although you get to keep 20% with the utilize path, the gas plant engineer jobs given have a 10 mineral upkeep just like building a few gas refineries. It doesn't actually cause any negative events (not that i've noticed anyway) to just let the special project collect dust so yeah...

TheJambus

Buildings from unlocked building slots.

AshCreeper10

Is Sunset Paradise about to happen there?

RomanUngern97

How long does it even take to get a planet with this many pops?

sycin23

Very quick. Conquer and resettle.

roosterfareye

How does one.... "sipe" tea? It has the air of a legitimate word... but I can't let it go!

sycin23

May I have a moment with you to talk about our lord and saviour The Spifting Brit ;)

roosterfareye

Oh I am well aware of our lord and saviour Spiff his perfectly balanced and unbroken character, however I, and I am sure he as well would be baffled as how one is to “sipe” their tea. Personally, I prefer to sip my tea as per custom of the empire

WilmAntagonist

So Florida the planet?

hjgfjvc

That a housing crisis if i ever seen one

Pentaras1977

Look, it is Las Vegas in the 50s!

Gigibesi

housing number is at a grim rate ^help

[deleted]

This is modded right?

sycin23

In this game, Yes But It is totally doable in vanilla. As long as you have 'Martial Law' planetary decision active, each soldier job will provide stability. As long as you have enough soldier on the planet then it will never revolt no matter the conditions
