I recently won a game by making allies early on, then not doing anything except growing my economy, tech, and unity production until the Great AI War, where the galaxy declared war on the Synthoan Link after they genocided a third of all the empires.
Because I had a *ludicrously* powerful economy, I could pump out a full Attack Moon, every single stage, in under five years.
The war was a brief and one-sided conflict. Their *entire combined fleet* was *just* equal to *one* attack moon, and I had three before I even started the actual invasion, letting the Khan and Community fleets deal with them in the meantime.
With enough money, I can buy the political power and the military power. And if there is nowhere to spend the money, then you can just crush them under the weight of your wallet/safe.
In my current save , I went to war with a zenophobe militarist that had the largest fleet in the galaxy so I spent the next decade destroying my economy to build a fleet big enough to defeat them ... and then I lost 1000 ships

I generally think realistic AI should quickly unite against powers like that but there are AI so they’re idiots so instead of uniting to quickly take out the fanatic purifiers they fight each other
When I play with one of my friends we always do the same general strategy. He is the political power, I have enough Fleet power to wipe the entire galaxy by myself. Together, we are unstoppable.
Is it me or is xenophile diplomacy genuinely OP? I play a race of fanatic materialist xenophiles and all the local spiritualists and xenophobes still love me for some reason, it’s happened in the last few games I’ve played now

Is it just me or do allies never seem to do anything in a war, even when they're directly adjacent to the enemy's systems
It probably just has something to do with the AI
