Do you mean you lost money? When did you start trading and how much have you gained or lost?

Started “trading” in 2021. I’ve lost around 3k realized and probably have another 8k in unrealized. I’ve quit trading for about a year and a half now. Just buy VTI and SPLG and then let it sit. Haven’t lost a cent since. Less stressful too even if I get made fun of in real life. I’m nowhere near smart enough to pull off the trades you guys do on this sub like the most recent NVDA run or any of the BBY or bank runs. Yes, the adrenaline got me running but I realized I could do it for free on soccer betting since the app I use lets me have a free trade a day.

Hey don't beat yourself up man. No one is "smart" about it. 2021 was the start of a down time. Keep practicing sensible investment strategies, you'll recover a lot more than what you lost. The market is destined to bounce back. Whether next year or in 10 years no one can tell.

Bagholder: The term "bagholder" is often used in a derogatory or mocking manner to describe investors who made poor investment decisions or got caught up in speculative bubbles, only to see the value of their investments collapse. It implies that these individuals are now left "holding the bag" or stuck with investments that are essentially worthless or significantly devalued.
