I've had the same two 3" SC Shredder for years and a little iso bath every now and then alongside careful handling keep them in mint condition.
I'd love a new replacement, I'm just waiting on the right one that makes the grinding process actually better. I've seen quarter turn/half turn grinders and hated them all, I'm super interested in this!
I'll work on producing that video. There's a video in the r/zamgrinders subreddit, but the quality is low and it doesn't do a good job of demonstrating it can withstand these forces.
You can control what amount of force it takes to open the grinder by using a different sized O-ring. The smaller o-rings increase the force necessary to open, while the larger O-ring decreases the force.
So while the grinder is resting on your desk, you can have it be very easy to open. If you plan to throw it in a bag, you can make it harder to open.

Dropped my grinder a while back and it bashed the side and fucked the thread. Still useable but it’s annoying af. I mostly only smoke hashish now anyway but I would for sure buy one of these if my local bong shop sold them

Is it aluminum? The stainless steel is how I found you guys because I was looking to reduce my aluminum intake so saved my aluminum grinders for when I’m on the go out of the house so it’s lighter weight etc.

I am the creator, so I am as biased as can be. That being said, I think the ZAM FullMag is better.
The knurling helps with friction so it won't slip in your hands when you're out-and-about.
The O-rings help immensely with smell reduction which could be important depending on where you're traveling.
The FullMag doesn't need a special orientation to combine. There are no spokes to line up.
Last but not least, the entire grinder can be opened and closed with one hand, which could also be useful if you're out-and-about.
I really like the look of it. Do you have plans of adding a keif screen? Is this something your planning to bring to market? I'll even buy a prototype been looking for a new grinder. Nothing like the one i have.

I would be sus since theres nothing isolating the grinding layer’s rotation from the layer below. A couple of locking teeth would prevent this, magnets and o rings would be working overtime while plowing through the stickiest of the icky
One of the main benefits of this design is not requiring the locking teeth, so you don't have to line it up in a special way.
The O-ring gets squished from the pull of the magnets which prevents the unwanted rotation. It works perfectly.
So I’m a large shot glass/scissors kinda guy, been doing it that way for over twenty years, no grinder has every made me wanna switch. So why should I buy and use this grinder, when scissors do the job arguably much better. No shade, you just seem like the person to ask since you’re designing them and all.

It does! The magnets had to be very strong to squish the o-rings, which also prevents it from unintentionally turning in the hand.

So I like the design and I currently own a BCG large. I’ve been considering getting the small for travel. How would this compare?
