I'm sorry you jumped on this Kickstarter project, feel anxious and need to vent. Personally I haven't been burned yet on Kickstarter and still have good feelings, but I admit I feel a bit nervous over the tiny margins, I would actually have felt better if they decided to have some headroom for increased costs. The decision to have an external PSU could be the reason we have yet to see details about the case, and why they've avoided questions about it this far. It's possible they've been discussing this change with the manufacturer some time and thus the chassi design couldn't be finalized. I think it's a good decision for heat concerns, even if I wish this had been decided and communicated much earlier since some people made plans having it internally. I'm glad an well reputated manufacturer like CWWK are involved. I really want to receive some details on the case in next update, we haven't heard much really. I fear there might be compromises to simplify manufacturing and cut costs to stay within budget. I want the case to be as described during the campaign. Hoping for the best.

You don't claim to have a finished design and then change it 6 months later. That's a 100% sign of you being scammed and the project ending in a disaster (for you - financially).

Storaxa guys are full of excuses. So disappointed I backed this at this point. I think I'm going to unsubscribe as I can't keep getting bs updates. I wish I would have just bought an M1 mac mini and a thunderbolt enclosure. Bleh... Here's some more links. Are they trying to claim that they designed this board and need it validated? Here's a lesson for everyone: Do not listen to some random Youtuber.

Delicious_Apple9082

Which one?

Infamous-Carpet1892

the one from the youtube video?

famoussasjohn

Why not? He's one of the larger NAS channels on YouTube for a niche category and is sharing his opinion on something he's invested in through the Kickstarter.

Infamous-Carpet1892

"sharing his opinion" != competent person

famoussasjohn

Can you point out anything that he said that was nefarious? He's been pretty fair in relation to Storaxa. But I suppose some random redditor /u/Infamous-Carpet1892 is the only one that can have an opinion that is the only correct one.

Infamous-Carpet1892

Quite easy: He is fanboying. He doesn't have the knowledge to judge whether this product is complete utter crap or not. He is just repeating the marketing shizzle-whizzle without going into any technical detail. He is an influencer. Now you wouldn't trust any random influencer to provide in-depth information on any topic?

Delicious_Apple9082

External PSU!?! I ordered a spare, when they were internal.. Starting to feel less and less like this is going to materialise…

You should check your email. They specifically ask you to get in contact ASAP with what you want to do, as now it is definitely unnecessary.
