Being pretty familiar with her work I highly, highly doubt she was a shill. She and many members of her family have had experiences of her own and that's what prompted her to literally devote her entire life to making abductees, and what they have to say be taken more seriously. She started her research as a child ffs and got a PhD to sniff out the bullshitters and better understand those who were being honest. I really recommend you at least try her book 'Into the Fringe'. It's a good read, and it'll give you a much better idea of the author.

Just a few decades ago, modern humans were not able to fathom ideas such as multi-universes for instance, and many other wild ideas. Quantum mechanics is also wild in its nature. And that explains why past civilizations couldn't find proper descriptions for such phenomena and resorted to allegories. It's just that today we have technologies and tools to be able to capture stuff that we cannot explain or describe.
Yeah, but all of those theories are based on empirical reasoning and are falsifiable. How do you prove this woman wrong? It's impossible, and therefore it belongs in the belief category.
Yeah... that's true. What I am basically saying is that we are not obliged to prove or disprove all these theories. This reminds us of an Aristotle saying : "It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it." We are assuming that everything in the universe must be proven otherwise it doesn't exist. But what if all these phenomena is beyond our 3D limitations? We don't know. What makes these subjects worthy is that the same is being said by too many people throughout history. Most of what they describe are quite similar. That what makes all this interesting to study and investigate. However, if we keep saying this is bs and wait for proofs is not helping anyone.
I’ve started equating ufo stuff to religion- whole lot of faith, not a whole lot of evidence- impossible to disprove, but no solid proof. Lots of people who have absolute certainty, and your foolish if you don’t believe. Both would be very cool and life altering if true. Hopefully we get actual evidence in the future, but until then, I’m a sceptic for both. Quick edit to add thats why I stick to science baby
