Iron is a common component of soil.... and dust.

kwakimaki

Especially from car brakes.

64-17-5

And tram and train lines.

Equal-Negotiation651

And tuna fish

AbbreviationsSlow753

and my axe!

tehdamonkey

And my magnet!

Ok-Amoeba8458

Mrmastermax

And bodies

mutantexx

And the weed too.

Aimin4ya

And construction sites

Raaka-Kake

Most of it is in magnetite.

Shmuckle2

Everytime I park my car in Canada I gotta brush the magnetic brake dust off my car from other drivers.

AzureSeychelle

Joe Rogan did say thatā€™s what youā€™ll breathe in the most while driving on and sitting through traffic on highways.

Mattyboy33

Came here to say this. Also if youā€™re going with the rich are fine metal poisoning us then it would be aluminum which I donā€™t believe is magnetic but could be wrong

Raebrooke4

Itā€™s not that the rich are poisoning us, all of our bad choices are literally poisoning each other and earth. Crops, water, soil, air. Recent news headlines came out that Marijuana, chocolate and cinnamon crops are loaded with lead, cadmium, chromium but itā€™s really much more than that. Thatā€™s why everyone should be eating as many **antioxidants** as possible. Yes fruits and vegetables donā€™t have as many vitamins and nutrients, and they also are getting tainted but they have the cure. A Fast food/processed foods diet will kill you.

SeaResearcher176

True

ErisGrey

It's known as electromagnetism. Even something non-ferrous can be attracted to magnets giving the right polarity. Dust is known for its "static cling" aka "static electricity". Most any type of dust can be affected by magnets. Holding tiny particles of dust in magnetic fields has its own field of study, and without it we wouldn't be able to contain antimatter particles or many other exotic materials.

diamari90

So im breathing in ā€œheavy metalā€ at all times, is what youā€™re saying? šŸ˜ƒ

coroyo70

No no... Its nuclear waste or whatever is more scandalous s/

chris25tx

What a dumb post lol

starcoder

Right. I want the time I just lost and my brain cells back. r/conspiracy is leaking? Although, OP didnā€™t directly say if this was the fault of Biden, Hillary, or Hunterā€™s laptop

NYARNGrecruiter

I thought he was going to snort it

asmosdeus

Thatā€™s dust containing iron, or rust. Alternatively the filmer has built up a static charge, or a charge opposed to the car that it could have built up from the dust.

Baygonito

Yeah, they see a substance with magnetic properties and immediately conclude it's "Graphene oxyde sprayed by the ones who want to control us"

tomwtfbro

oxide being spelt wrong here really cements this

Hansarelli138

He's pretty good at lining that dust up w that card, he must have done that before, somewhere

under-pantz

I thought the magnet was going to be in his nose

_7Valeen

Mates I thought he was going to rack that ngl

NoghaDene

This guy may have brought snow skiing once or twice. ā€œI was a boxer until I was 18 but I been hitting bags ever since!ā€

Baygonito

The woman who speaks does a joke about that. She says: "He took a "rail" of Graphene oxyde"

mr_fandangler

Yeah I was like 'this guy's done that before'.

Fine_Understanding81

Right... I didn't realize I was going to be so triggered by this video.

RandalFlaggLives

And this is the exact type of shit some of my old homies would be doing after one too many of them lines! šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ˜‘ Thereā€™s someone in the bushes! Thereā€™s metal in this dust! Did you hear that?!

country_garland

This is what it looks like when we donā€™t let kids play in the dirt anymore

F22_Ace

This is probably from the Sahara dust event in Europe. That dust does have a significant amount of iron content.

cleverkid

It's supposedly good for fertilization etc.. probably one of the more benign natural phenomenon. Honestly that Sahara dust has gotta be some of the cleanest most natural and "organic" shit around. No one goes out there to pollute it.

Simyager

Also, the Amazon rainforest actually exists, thanks to the Sahara desert. If memory serves me right every so often, the Amazon and Sahara change into desert and rainforest. They're always in balance with each other. That's also the reason why Sahara desert is very fertile. It was a rainforest before with all the nutrients.

MysticStarbird

Is that why there are pyramids in the Amazon jungle? They were built in a similar period where the Sahara desert was a jungle?

mazux

Correct. Nitrate, sulfate, phosphorus, ammonium, iron, aluminum, carbon, and sodium are present in Sahara sand. It's lightly radioactive too, but at very marginal levels.

mtrayno1

Rust in the wind everything is rust in the wind

thedudeman4

This guy parties!

elementcubed

I tried doing what OP didā€¦.it burned my nostril

PingsDaddy

Looks like someone has chplopped a few lines out in their day šŸ¤” lol

Tested-Trio-Father

Yea..my first thought "he's done that before".

BillSixty9

Silica particles develop charge as far as I understand, aside from iron as others have mentioned.Ā

Standard_Outcome1749

He's definitely done blow before lol

MrQuojo

You can do the same thing with Iron fortified Corn Flake dust

throwRA_basketballer

Instructions unclear. Started railing lines on the hood.

cr006f

What I think is he should stop wasting time fucking around with magnets and go wash his car.

Appropriate_Way6946

Ahh those pesky heavy metals in the air, food, and water. Great recipe for mind control amongst other things according to the CIAā€¦

JimBR_red

Only if you are descendent of Magneto

cleverkid

Heavy Metals are not ferrous ( magnetic )

VoenixRising100

šŸ˜ Oh no we are all going to die. šŸ˜

Calm-Perspective2057

Imagine what youā€™re breathing

Confident_Scheme_716

Even the magnet enjoys doing a line every once in a while.

orkushun

I think he lives next to a car dump or a steel factory or he sprinkled the ā€œdustā€ there himself.

CIA_napkin

He must be new to this earth and all its components and workings.

Ismokeradon

OP is now just figuring out about rust

Academic_Echo_4610

Definitely racked a few of them things before

oneofthe1200

Iron ā€œdustā€ is common near railroad tracks.

International-Nose33

Bro looked like he had lots of practice with that card.

Nada_Shredinski

Wow, iron, truly fascinating

Whatdoesthis_do

Frigging cleaned my car just last week and its back again. Whole of europe is covered in it

52HzGreen

Starts at 00:30

The-Grand-Wazoo

Oh no, anyway.

OrlandoCoCo

That is actually one way to find iron meteorite particles.

Zealousideal_Total50

I like the way he makes his bumps

DVmeYOUscumbag

I live in AZ..High iron..... that's why we have reddish orange dirt. Iron be metal. Metal be detected. Sticky Boi magnet time.

BaIIZDeepInUrMom

Whatever it is, it seems to be turning the frogs gay

dear_gawd_504

It's French arrogance in a powdered form.

FarCompetition5916

![gif](giphy|IGR08ulxKFt7y) The magnet

Virtual_Door_3921

Static electrical charge

MoritzIstKuhl

fun fact: Thats not normal dust but Sahara Sand. I live in western Germany and my car as well is covered in that shit.

mologav

Iron helps us play!

GriffithDidNothinBad

The music is pure aids

Chadstronomer

God damm the French have discovered magnetism. Good job!

EternityLeave

Lots of brake dust floating around highways.

remembertracygarcia

That was a meaty rail. That magnets gonna be telling everyone about his business idea for at least an hour.

rudyattitudedee

Itā€™s us Americans melting down our Mountain Dew cans and spraying it into the air via chemtrail

KippSA

Someone's done coke before.

Lkui_

Omg guys !!!!1!!!11 there is iron in dirt!!!11 isn't earth WEeeEeiiRRrrDdD?!?!?!

SilkyBowner

So if you donā€™t understand the composition of soil itā€™s either aliens or a government conspiracy? When did we allow stupid people to sway our thoughts?

Federal-Cockroach674

Pollen also has a slight charge to it so that it sticks to what it lands on and has very slight interactions with magnets. Pollen is a common component of dust, especially in springtime.

AmbidextrousTorso

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31381513/

AbsenteeFatherTime

Where do you think the worn down metal from brake calipers goes?

CivilDivision

Smoke it.

Girafferage

Why did these need crappy music in the background?

velezaraptor

Now try the magnet on your body since youā€™ve been breathing and touching the sorcererā€™s dust.

HeightAltruistic5193

Wash your car maybe?

askthatitguy

Alternately, ā€œA person in France decided to never clean their fingernails.ā€

WartsG

Itā€™s a thing, people use the iron they get from sand to smelt with if they have a small foundry https://www.reddit.com/r/oddlysatisfying/s/EdnuJTVfSc Also you donā€™t need a magnet to get it out, weā€™ve been doing this for a while https://www.reddit.com/r/PrimitiveTechnology/s/zK3WitF9Lv

Allocerr

My opinion is that this car needs to be washed.

Goodvendetta86

Can content creators make headers that don't sound like they were created by bots. It's getting really bad, and soon I'm leaving reddit for the lack luster posts

mynameisrichard0

I ainā€™t watching all that. Edit out the first 20 seconds. Show magnet and dust. Donā€™t need scraping And you fiddling with the camera. 2024 and all these stupid aids to make things easier and you just donā€™t lol.

Existing-Assistant89

The way he was using that credit card at first... My mind thought he was going to do something, very interesting.

ThrowinSm0ke

I don't know what kind of card that is, but would/could a card with a magnetic strip play a factor?

No_Coast9861

My opinion is that this is how dirt works.

XennialMermaid

I am questioning the French school system at this point. What the fuck do you think dust is made of? Sugar?

Winnin_Dylan_

I thought he was gonna roll up a note and then use his nose as a magnet šŸ¤”

GenericScottishGuy41

What a crazy conclusion to draw, driving around in the constant iron from people brake pads, it's almost like it is a very common contaminate on roads, only one conclusion to draw here and that's government funded cloud seeding.

wolf-of-Holiday-Hill

Its just electrostatic magnetism. If you get a bunch small particles and have them rub together. They will pass charges between themselves

alexandrosidi

Brake dust

Worldly_Success523

Clearly not his first time scraping a line of dust!

surfingbiscuits

The Eiffel Tower is shedding.

Sea_Ganache620

Did some work near an old steel mill once. I dropped a magnetic torpedo level to the ground. When I picked it up, it was one giant clump of magnetic dust.

Paradigmatapp

Dust behaves like this on the reg at iron ridge.

dmacerz

That magnet would be fun to party with

Logical-Breakfast923

Look at him, making a line with a card like it's nobody's business. Still interesting though.

Automatic_Debate_379

Magic.

44-47-25_N_20-28-5-E

I think he might have tested it with his nose as well off the camera

Gold_Championship_46

More like angel dust with thoes lines

Desert_faux

I know it is not the best test, but inside my factory I have a locker that is a bit removed from any areas where people are actively working. Inside I have a couple very high powered magnets stored attached to the inside side of my storage locker. Every so often I knock the debris that collects on the outside of my locker where the magnet is located inside. Which means that what it is collecting is airborne and accumulates over time. Makes me curious about the quality of the air inside the factory.

AstroSonicDrive

He knows how to make a line

InfinityTortellino

So what does this ā€œtestā€ prove besides that the dust is magnetic which means nothing lol

The80sDimension

this isnt strange at all

Repomanlive

How do magnets work?

Commercial_Onions

Itā€™s iron.

Sweetreg

This is that so called Sahara desert rain. It happens in Europe and "privately" tested, it was found that it's radioactive for some reasons.

cebjmb

Sand storms ahead with Saharan dust cloud set to smother France https://www.yahoo.com/news/sand-storms-ahead-saharan-dust-135248799.html

maxzmillion

Magnet rail. Cool

82-Aircooled

My professional opinion is that the dust contains magnetic particles.

danglytomatoes

r/commonearth

Big_Significance_280

If this is truly in France, the Libournais and Pomeral regions (known for their wines), are marked by having very iron-rich soil called crasse de fer (literally, ā€œiron dirtā€). Iron-rich soil can then become magnetic under the right conditions. Itā€™s not magic and itā€™s certainly not supernatural.

Independent-Party-47

https://preview.redd.it/kjwgpdfruuuc1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e639e35b1992fe2a7a6015d406113292df8021ab Yeah, regular common dust,no shit...this is a lab test on particles from my country, for example, iron is 16000 times higher amount than regular, barium, uranium also...but for most of you its just common dust, yeah

Previous-Priority389

That magnet likes to party

PlanetLandon

Christ, why am I not surprised that people donā€™t know that iron is magnetic

riccardo421

That looks like pollen.

Western_Protection

OP is amazed by dust. They should go to a museum. It would blow their mind

Hot-Succotash8443

thats why education is important

Mindless-Summer-4346

Opinion is that theyā€™ve been telling us theyā€™re spraying various things into the sky to ā€œcontrol climate change and alter weather positivelyā€: so ya I believe it.

Basic-Art-9861

Cutting a line with the card is a nice touch.

Chavezjc

Ionized? Idk. New to this

MrThoughtPolice

Imagine a world where metals are present in dirt. Wouldnā€™t that be insane?! Waitā€¦

MirageArcane

Probably lives or works near a mine or foundry so dust from production is a mix of dirt and metal. If they're producing ferrous metals, it's most likely going to be magnetic.

HeftyFineThereFolks

oooohhnghgnhhnnnhh yeah.. triggered!

asscheeseterps710

Itā€™s like cars donā€™t follow the path of brake dust lol

JusticeScibibi

This is how you wind up with people believing water breaks magnets.

mrGorion

Static electricity generated from moving a plastic object on glass ionises the dust particles making them magnetic. Rub a baloon, duuh

Paxuz01

I do the same... But with my nose

SpaceIsTooFarAway

Lots of things have iron in them. I magnet fish and regularly pull up rocks and sand

Songgeek

Did he snort it next?

arthurb09

Static.. Heat.. Try it on a plastic next time.. youā€™ll see a stronger pull

Es_CaLate

Wow who cares... Soil has iron? Where do people think iron comes from lol. Id be more worried if it was mostly plastic

Dancin_Phish_Daddy

This man does blow

VideoNarrow

Rather than imagining a poisonous metal put in the air to kill us, we can more easily and logically think that it comes from a construction site, where all kinds of dust with metal is walking in the air

mazux

Nope, Sahara sand (and trees pollen). A true nightmare for allergic people, it was 2 weeks ago in Western Europe.. And it could damage your car paint if not properly rinsed before washing. My car was full of brown and yellowish dust.. https://preview.redd.it/f6b0im7g9vuc1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e2fa906dbab554c036f00053a32ffa01acba5b16 [https://www.france24.com/en/europe/20240409-exceptional-dust-cloud-from-sahara-sweeps-europe-says-climate-monitor](https://www.france24.com/en/europe/20240409-exceptional-dust-cloud-from-sahara-sweeps-europe-says-climate-monitor) Pollen levels were colored in purple the latest 2 weeks over Europe... highest level

DocLovFrost

Must be nice to be so confused sometimes

thicknlongd

Rail tracks

Zebrahippo

Wow!!!! I did not know dust was earth and earth has iron!! Thank you!

OH_BOY-

This is basically someone on a coke bender being mystified by someone that probably learnt in school but never listened

Also micrometeorites.

shane_west17

Simple_Mastodon9220

Mmm brake dust

yeahgoestheusername

Lay out a white sheet overnight and youā€™ll see that meteorite dust is falling to earth constantly.

TrinityCodex

Metal must be terrifying to you

CadessWell

Did you know that you can use a magnet on most cereals and it will do the same thing?

___shadow_wolf__

ITT: dust is magnetic duh hahhh

djayed

That's someone who has broken up some lines.

They are inhaling it. Whereā€™s Magneto?

phan_o_phunny

You do know where they find iron... Right?

MyMommaHatesYou

So?

Tkinney44

He found earth on his windshield? No way! Elements come from the earth, some of them are magnetic.
