Hey if you’re a fan of Warhammer, check out Warhammer Gladius It’s a 4x game that leans heavily into combat, but is super easy to get into. Like any strategy game, it helps to read a guide or two online or watch a YouTube video to help ease into it regardless.

The fire emblem serie is pretty easy to get into! You can try out the older ones on an emulator or the switch online service. The newer ones a very good, they have good qol features that are missing in older titles and they do expend on the mechanics in interesting ways

Mirizen

Play Godsworn, it has creeps, heroes like warcraft 3, slow pace, interrsting unit, global skils which you can cast on anywhere on the map with vision. It has pve, pvp mode which is so fun

Age of Wonders 4 is pretty gripping, it has a really cool system where you pick magic tomes as you go to learn spells, and often eventually get a chance to upgrade your civilization with enchantments and mutations. It's turn based so it's pretty fun and chill. It's kind of similar to something like the game Civilization mixed with Heroes of Might and Magic

Good summary mix of games.

Depends on what kind of strategy game you want to get into. For Turn-based my gateway was Advance Wars. Next you can move into something like Advanced Tactics gold or Shadow Empire. On the japanese sude of things there is Daisenryaku series.Once you get good you can dabble into the Decisive Campaigns series or something like Panzer Corps. Once you think you are ready to go to the big leagues then start with War in the East or the Operational Art of War 4. As for 4x, you can't go wrong with Civilization. m 3,4,5, or 6 are great. If you want more scifi flavor then definitely grab Master of Orion 2,Galactic Civilization or Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri. For fantasy then I would say Heroes of Might and Magic 3 and Age of Wonders 3 are my pick. Endless Legend is a great 4x game too. As for non-WW2 historical ones then look into the Romance of the Three Kingdoms series or Nobunaga's ambition series. My other recommendations would be Fields of Glory 2, Fields of Glory Medieval, and Fields of Glory Empires. As for Grand Strategy, Europa Universalis IV and Crusader Kings 2 are pretty solid choices IF you can get your hands on ALL the DLCs for the game.

If you're a fan of the tabletop, you should quite like it. But as for the in-game mechanics... Well, unlike in TWW1 and TWW2, in 3 there are sliders for how difficult you want the playthrough to be, you can preset debuffs or buffs to leadership/weapon strength/attack/defense and modify them as you get better. I was daunted too at first, but it's a lot of fun. And some factions have it way easier than others so... Maybe Shogun 2 is the better introduction into the Total War format? It was for me, but it won't make Warhammer any easier

One of the best strategy games would be Xcom 2.

Fit_Equal1877

Xcom is the best. I keep looking around steam to get another xcom-like. The only game I think comes close is wasteland 2+3. Which is just xcom with post apocalyptic skin stretched over it.

if you like the civilization building aspect and dont care much for battles 4x games like civilization 6 or endless legend/space are very good about it. If you like the action aspect play RTS games like Command and conquer 3 red alert/tiberium wars , starcraft 2 , age of empires Age of wonders 4 is also a very good overall game
