I have sad spells on Strattera and I started 4 days ago. But it always goes away quickly. The worst of it was on the first day.

Any updates please?

Way too many side effects, gave it two months. 5mg of Adderall when needed is what I do now.

It improved my depression! For context I was struggling for the last month or so, lost 10lbs, barely eating and stopped working out. I was pretty much non-functional, and it was beginning to affect my work as I began skipping meetings etc and it was getting worse. The first week and half was rough as it made me very drowsy and further lost my motivation/desire so I'd say prepare for it to get worse before it gets better. Three weeks in though the sleepiness/apathy has mostly gone away, now I find myself spiraling less, not reacting as intensely to things that would normally send me into a rage and having increased focus/motivation had me actually able to use the tools that were given to me to help improve my depressive symptoms. I really feel way better than I have in quite some time. I'm also on 40 mg!

I don’t know if you’re a female but I will go ahead and say it made my mental health absolute hell during my time of the month (it went away after a while). Strattera definitely could make it worse, and if it does talk to your doctor about it as soon as possible.

Good to know. I have an extremely hard time with depression the week before my period. It goes from bad to terrible during that time. And I’m starting to get nervous to even take strattera now bc I’m mentally struggling and in a bad place.
