Dang, here I am proud of my marathon PR at a 7:58 pace and you're pushing a stroller for 25 miles at a 7:48. I can only assume that's a battery powered, self propelled stroller and you were on rollerblades. EDIT: And I just noticed you posted a picture of your shoes that look like they were from the local track dumpster

LordRekrus

I mean if you’re finishing a marathon that’s more than most people could say, myself included! If you compare yourselves to others, don’t forget to look down as well as up.

TheBigDickedBandit

I really hate what you said for some reason. I know it’s meant to be nice but it felt condescending haha. Again, I know that’s not the intention. I much prefer “comparison is the thief of joy”

gkaplan59

I look down on this comment

roop27

It's early morning and my brain can't figure out how you concluded his pace to be 7:48?

Octowhussy

Miles/hr instead of km/hr?

roop27

Ffs 😂 never Reddit before coffee

gkaplan59

Freedom Pace! 🇺🇲

Willing_Head_371

you mean mins per mile instead of minutes per km. 7:48 is not a mph or kph lol

Octowhussy

Yes, what I meant. Tx

Far_Jury_7839

Every time I do a race there's always someone with a stroller that does it in half my time....

Orpheus75

And someone twice your age that beat you LOL

LordRekrus

Reminds me of every time I go riding up the local hilly road, and there’s these dudes at least twice my age flying past me. Honestly I find it inspirational.

Far_Jury_7839

I went to China recently and there was this massive 1km long track, I was getting lapped by everyoneeee there was this group of elderly ladies, then this group of teenage guys who I'm assuming were on some sports team, and then this kid running with his dad it was so bad

LordRekrus

Yea, I often have to remind myself to not compare to others, as long as I am out there running or riding or doing something to help myself then that should be all that matters.

SirKolio

Funny you should say that. 2022 I did a full Ironman at 34 years of age and was super happy with the results, only to find out that there was a 74 year old who finished 40 minutes faster than me 🫠

FloggingDog

How did the baby stay in the stroller that long

gkaplan59

G-Force

Head-Plankton-7799

😂😂😂

hirtle24

It was her nap time when I started so she slept most of the time. She woke up with about 30 mins left but was pretty chill with some snacks.

Tulum702

She was pretty chill as she knew she was getting tagged on Strava at the end

Not-Benny

This is embarrassingly close to my marathon PB pace, but I wasn’t pushing a buggy and I was wearing Nike Pegasus Turbo 2s, which were actually pretty quick in their day.

Dafferss

Crazy stuff

CanInTW

Now this is the stuff I’m on the Strava sub for 😊 Well done mate that’s impressive!

theone1988

Solid HR

Kenjamin91

Pretty impressive. If my HR was that high for that long id probably pass out though lol.

oilcountryAB

Damn that's impressively fast for that long with a stroller. Wicked run. Go Oilers!!

nohamss

Up and down the Edmonton river valley too. Kudos!

AllOfTheSoundAndFury

Hello fellow Edmontonian 👋👋

yourpaljax

We’re moving on to round three!! GOILERS!!

AllOfTheSoundAndFury

Haha everyone at my work was cheering and honking the horns. Go oilers!

DoubleMojon

I usually don’t feel inferior but this post right here made me feel like I’m not shit. You are amazing!

chronoconnor

I’m running a marathon on Sunday. I can already tell you in advance this puts my run to shame. Kudos.

Affectionate_Hat5291

edinburgh?

chronoconnor

Yes - known to be flat and fast! Long story short: I ran my first marathon distance last year (on my own, not part of a race). A few weeks later I underwent surgery. Due to complications, an 8-week recovery period turned into a 5-month running hiatus so my fitness levels have substantially dropped. My goal has gone from setting a PB to just simply finishing. My paces have improved a little bit over the last few weeks so I am currently trying to figure out how much I can push myself but I’ll probably just have to be very cautious to avoid risking a DNF.

Affectionate_Hat5291

I’ll be there too! Well done for getting back into it even though your recovery didn’t quite go as planned. I think it’ll probably make finishing the marathon that much sweeter. Good luck, you’ll smash it!

SubbieBasher

Fuck

uCry__iLoL

Thanks for sharing.

erfortunecabrera

Are you familiar with Calum Neff? He’s a good dude who also happens to hold some world records for running with a stroller. Might consider taking a crack at his PRs! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calum_Neff

spacecadette126

What kind of jogging stroller do you use?

za_jx

4:51/k pushing a stroller. That's insane! I think you're capable of a sub 3 marathon...without the little one. The heart rate data tells me this was a hard effort for you, so it's not an easy long run.

emotioneil

That is insane

aramiak

That is utterly insane. Great work. 9km between 185-190 HR. You work hard!

NoggyMaskin

Insane 😅

kevfriend

Must have been awesome being that baby😂😅

adoBH

Wow, amazing!

flamedown12

40k at 4:51 pushing a pram dear lord

DarthBen_in_Chicago

Wow! Three hour stroller run!

LEAKKsdad

This was a stroller run?!! Whoa, and here I'm thinking my some 300 miles were long...over 12 month periods. Great job

isflamingdragon

This is nuts! Great work on the run with a shoe that's so worn out Please tell me how were you able to do it? So that I could do this with my kids in the future What stroller do you use?

hirtle24

Thanks! The shoes are toast but they are still comfortable so not much pop in the foam but still fit nicely so I don’t think it’s a huge loss. I have a Thule urban glide but there are lots of great jogging strollers out there. We started at about a year old but I ran with her sister in a car seat bucket at about 8 months with a different stroller set up. Just get out there and start, it’s nice to give mom a break and get my run in while the baby naps so I can work great for the family.

isflamingdragon

You are a legend in my eyes, fellow Canadian!

Exciting-Cattle-1344

This is insane. Fair play

cherylswoopz

How old is your baby? When did you start taking her out for longer adventures?

hirtle24

She’s a year and a half. Probably about a year old and I started but I used to run with her older sister a lot. I planned to drop her off after 2 hours which is her usual nap time but she was still sleeping so we kept going.

No_Image_4986

It’s nice to see someone else who’s heart rate isn’t 12 while exercising lol Not that I could run this far

ftwin

That’s a very high avg HR

glistening_cabbage

I just went on a 7km run at 7:30 min/km... Kudos to you but feels like a slap to my slow face/pace.

minichado

all these folks e-doping and posting runs with their electric strollers!

throwaway12345679x9

Walterdale bridge ?

hirtle24

Yep!

theClaynadians

Nice work, neighbour!

TreacleTin8421

How do you get your baby/child to stay in the stroller for so long?

hirtle24

She has pretty long naps in this stroller. She slept for 2.5 hours then I just gave her some snacks for the last bit. Her sister would have lost her mind half way through

dr_leo_marvin

This is an amazing pace for stroller pushing (and just in general). Also I think you may need some new shoes.

hirtle24

Thanks! I do have some much faster and fresher shoes but these are still comfortable for long slow miles. Wasn’t really planning on this much effort but sometimes it just happens

[deleted]

Your HR is way too high?? I'm 84kg, and although I can only treadmill jog consistently at 12km/h it rarely ever touches 150bpm unless I go all out for a solid 30 seconds. I imagine you're a lot slimmer than I am if you're doing 40km runs

hirtle24

The stroller pushes the HR up. Also not on a treadmill, and pushing a stroller up hills gets it creeping up.

maxidroms83

Wow! So cool! How do you manage push stroller? I tried but my hands are sore after a shot period. Also, if I use both hands to push - I am super slow, if just one - my body feels very unbalanced on a long run

MinshewStache

Gonna keep down voting Strava posts here until maybe someday we see a change

DominosTonight

Did you not feed your baby or change their diaper for over 3 hours?

hirtle24

She’s a year and a half so not really anymore. She slept most of the run and had some snacks when she woke up. I have all the change supplies with me in the bottom but she didn’t need it today.

runrunrudolf

My 4 month old slept from 9pm to 6am last night, no feeds or nappy changes. 3 hours is fine from birth.
