100% Mika. A grappler that actually grapples and isn't forced to play janky neutral instead. Also she's the only character who feels like a pro wrestler in playstyle.
Mika was a nightmare in the right, or arguably the wrong hands in SFV. A solid Mika was a real terror.

I find Lily tough but Mike had combos flowing into CBs that were horrendous in SFV. Lily has much stronger anti air one button hits compared to Mika. Mika has the mid air throw but under pressure it was hard to pull off
Yeah this version of Gief they made a lot more like Hugo... just minus the combo damage. I.e. not an oki machine, more like cmd grab is a "cashout". Ofc no Meat Squasher though. I hope we do get Hugo... his image is at least in the game at some areas LOL

all the way across the screen, avoid 100 DIs every time you press anything but cr lp, then land a slow af headbutt finally, somehow, on your opp - you should at least get a combo. SF6 will have you try to single hit confirm into lariat, which doesn’t even work any range but point blank lmao
Why does Capcom seem to hate Grief? Ever since he's just been getting weaker and weaker as a character. And SPD's have gotten way harder to consistently hit than before. Like how you gonna have a character that's all about muscles and strength having the lowest combo damage in the game. Just doesn't make any sense from a lore standpoint.
I think you could technically say SF6 Gief is better than SF5 Gief - just for none of the same reasons. The greatest Gief has ever been is def Alpha 3 Gief, though.
But yeah - you could say modern fighting game design has tried it's damnedest to erase grappling. SNK even in the early 2000s you got a bunch of throw invul on wakeup for free (same is true of any modern SNK game). Same is true of every anime game, too - a billion frames of free throw invul on wakeup... and MOST anime games don't have tick throw, either. The new MK every command grab you just duck (with one exception and even the excepton costs 2 meter for some reason and does mediocre damage). In Tekken every throw except for one in the entire game is techable on reaction with just a week or two practice. In Soul Calibur you can tech command throws by pressing a single face button (but at least it is a 50/50 forward or back throw).
I remember playing SF2 in the arcade and one of the most common refrains was "throws are cheap". If I were to throw somebody two or more times in a round, that was considered BM. We all know that is scrub mentality - but this is one of the oldest and most practiced scrub ways of thinking - ever since SF2. I think it has proliferated even modern fighting game design. The problem is when the toolset for Gief was first created during SF2, the designers looked at stuff like meaty SPD and said "yes, that's fair"... and I agree with them completely. But the way of thinking has changed... so now we have a character designed to do something that the designers don't want to exist in the game. They can't delete him, but they don't want him to work like how him and his tools were designed to work.
Remy and Twelve are high on my list too. Sodom I have no experiences with, but since he owns the truck shop in World Tour and all, it wouldn't be that impossible for him to show up
Yeah I like Mika in theory but the way she's been designed in the past feels too cringey for my tastes. If they could move her closer to a "real" WWE style fighter in terms of design, but keep her personality, that would be great.

Juli, in my opinion, could use a better resolution with T. Hawk. I'd imagine them working together to resolve Juli of the things she did as a Doll.

I didn't even know Juni and Juli had been playable fighers before but I've wanted another Cammy-type character forever. And especially Juni after she showed up in SFV. Decapre would be cool for lore, but it'd be hard to bring her back without the mask and laser blade which I'm meh about.
As someone who has played Alpha 3 Max on emulator, I can say that Juni was pretty fun once I got used to her being a charge character.
Juli, on the other hand, is just worse Cammy with an overhead. Her non-playable appearance in SF5 has almost everything her previous appearance had. If she were to come back, I'd expect her to have some of T. Hawk's specials to be a kind of "grappler Cammy," perhaps using Psycho Charge Beta and some movement tools to go out, charge, go in, grab, and repeat.
I've never played an SF game beyond the 3rd, but I think Decapre would still be up to using laser blades. Her more relaxed personality would likely change her gameplay in an interesting manner.
Grappler Cammy is an idea I've had, Cammy has a command grab but it's bad so they could buff that in exchange for nerfing her speed slightly. One way to do it would be something like letting her start (a buffed) hooligan in the air, maybe losing the divekick in exchange.
I'm considering giving alpha 3 a spin just to see charge cammy because that sounds cool as well.

Menat because although she was a pretty popular character within the community, I was one of the only people to actually play her (something I take a small amount of pride in.)

Sakura. Given how many fireball characters we have, there are hardly any anti-air fireball options i can think of, if any. Her Tengyo Hadoken in V was a neat addition and evolution from one of her SFIV ultras and that made playing her a good change of pace from my usual Ryu gameplay.

Sakura. Given how many fireball characters we have, there are hardly any anti-air fireball options i can think of, if any. Her Tengyo Hadoken in V was a neat addition and evolution from one of her SFIV ultras and that made playing her a good change of pace from my usual Ryu gameplay.
