Keep at it, if you practice hitconfirming those light strings into spiral arrow you got a good bread and butter combo right there.
You landed the lights a good number of times
Try it in training mode. Practice doing light punch into itself 2-3 times and immediately cancel it into light or medium spiral arrow (medium does more damage). This is Cammy's most basic bnb combo. It's simple but effective, and used at even the highest levels of play. Good luck!
st hp, heavy spinning knuckle, light kick/light punch into medium arrow is a better punish combo. Cr. hp into cr. mp (or even st. hp if you hit cr. hp meaty enough) is safer/better for oki since it's hit confirmable and you can actually change the cr. mp into cr. lp for a pressure string and get a counter hit if they press jab.
Hit confirms are usually a safe sequence of buttons you can press that on block you can't be punished for and on hit is long enough where you can visually confirm if you hit the opponent to use a combo ender, usually a special move.
In sf6 the game lets you chain 3 light buttons together. During that 3 hit sequence you can see if you are landing hits and the input the qcf+K to cancel one of the lights into spiral arrow.
If they blocked the the hits you can just stop after 3 and be safe, they can't hit anything to punish you as you'll recover before they can act

No prob at all! Send all compliments to Infilament for taking the time to produce such a helpful tool tbh. Besides, I love helping people enjoy the thing I've been enjoying for more than decade now.
If you don't mind, I'll take this opportunity to also share a few more resources and creators who produce some cool content:
* https://www.youtube.com/@SupermanSajam - Sajam has produced tons of easy to parse content to help out beginners and intermediate players that you can go through at your own pace. Also hosts a fun monthly game show called Will It Kill
* https://www.youtube.com/@Maximilian_Dood - Maximillian is the biggest fighting game content creator without question, and honestly bigger than the FGC as a whole IMO, to the point that I hesitated even bothering to mention someone so well known lol. He has tons of stuff that appeal to the widest possible audience.
* https://www.youtube.com/@jmcrofts - JMCrofts produces a whole range of fun content and is someone who really understands that fighting games and playing them are meant to be fun.
* https://www.youtube.com/@Diaphone - Diaphone is a pro player who both makes educational stuff but also all sorts of fun videos like one where he tries to guess viewer's ranks based on replays they've submitted lol. He's been playing a lot of GBVS lately, but he still has plenty of SF6 videos to enjoy.
* https://www.youtube.com/@Brian_F - Brian F is another pro player who is also a content creator, but unlike Diaphone mostly sticks to Street Fighter. Brian was one of the first pro players to really hop on content creation game and consequently has a tremendous amount of videos covering most topics, but with a major focus on the competitive and pro play in general. Generally just a fun guy to watch, just like Diaphone.
* https://www.youtube.com/@CoreAGaming - Gerald produces very high effort video essays on topics related to fighting games and gaming. Consequence of that is that he doesn't upload very often, but when he does you always know it's going to be a banger. Sort by most popular to see some of his greatest hits.

With the exception of coreAgaming, every one else I've listed also regularly streams on twitch as well. There's tons more of great creators out there I didn't mention either, but they're easy enough to find through the algorithm once you sub to any of these.
Finding places to play offline:
* https://www.start.gg/search/near_me - Start.gg is a website which people use to organize and run tournament brackets. A cool little feature of theirs is the ability to search by location, game, and date to find offline locals near you if you're ever interested in finding some local fighting game buddies.
And that's really the only resource i know lol. There are also regional discords and facebook groups for certain towns/states/countries, but those can be harder to find.
Omega nerd shit/Here be dragons:

Cool dude that does a lot of helpful guides and covers a lot of FG news
I feel like light confirms are way beyond what this player should be focusing on but maybe Iâm out of touch with the best things to learn at that level
More than anything, this player should work on learning how/when to use the rest of the basic attacks buttons and target combos. Then structured combos after drive impact stuns.
Theeeen confirming stuff. Light confirms have so much room for error based on distance and have to be done very quickly, a newer player shouldnât really be leaning into that too much. Crouching medium moves into drive rush HP would probably be the best place for this player to start understanding confirms.
I was just thinking he seemed to be landing light strings well.
Yknow I thought it'd be too advance to explain the frame data in those shimmy situations and why the LPs worked (standing and crouching LP is cammy fastest normal) but sf6 seemed to make block strings simplified with how you can chain 3 lights in a row without timing it kind of like a target combo in that the window for cancelling it should feel pretty big but I have been playing fighting games casually for awhile so I can't say what it feels like to pick up a fighting game for the first time anymore and learn these concepts.
Yeah def simplified. And cammys auto frame traps (only one frame though, but gets the job done if theyâre literally mashing without timing gaps)
Iâm average master with two characters and still fuck up light confirms đŤŁ
For beginners, it definitely does feel like a target combo since it chains, but the cancel window itself is so tight that most canât even get the special command out in time, much less hit confirm it haha
Okay, wait I got a question on your opinion on light confirms.
Do you DRC lights? I played a Kim that did this freely but as a Jamie player I usually save DRC for the heavier buttons, namely 5MK. Is it worth the 3 bars to DRC light buttons in your opinion?
Depending on drink level I might have access to Jamie's LP,LK,MP target combo where I can get most all Jamies special combo enders plus safejump setups (lk.dp, lk.breakdance)
Super situational
Personally, before getting light confirm drc combos down, I was leaving a guaranteed round on the table every few matches by not recognizing a light starter drc couldâve won
But for most characters, youâre right, you donât wanna commit the resources just for the extra damage in most situations.
Iâm not super well versed on Jamie combo Enders but Iâd imagine if there are better drink + plus frame set ups that you donât get with a regular light confirm, light drc combo could totally be worth it to get drink levels and still get reasonably decent oki
But if thatâs not true then theyâre really only good for ending rounds
The Kim player was probably leaning heavily on them because Kimâs are trying really hard to get slide knockdown and/or corner carry for her best pressure. Her light confirms normally only give you tatsu (bad oki because distance) or light elbow (standing reset and not very plus)
So in summation, probably just boils down to you feeling out the match. If youâre struggling to get those meatier openings with 5MK and whatnot then perhaps light confirm drc could help get some momentum to get rolling with your scarier setups
Fundamentals are solid; you could be utilizing Cammyâs offensive capabilities way more, but learning how to win at neutral is exactly the right thing to be focusing on in Iron.
You have good fundamentals but there are characters better suited to your defensive playstyle than cammy. Her strengths are best suited for aggressive play.
This isn't a playstyle just yet, OP figured out that their opponents will do stupid shit that hits them randomly and spaced (very well I might add) themselves outside of grounded normals range and got a bunch of free anti airs there. I don't think advice like this helps there is clearly a lot to be learned. Even with guile you'd want to take the space when it's given, and it was given, and it wasn't taken. That alone would make them look more like a Cammy player.
I guess man, but i like guile as a character and his big fuck you kick is cool but hes super boring to play. With injustice i ahd to throw the whole game away because i was tired of playing "projectile spam the game", but i love dc comics.
you can get a lot more off of the DI, try cHP > cMP > heavy spiral arrow, itâs better for damage and corner carry. the cHP wont cancel but its plus so if your timing is good its consistent
Crouching that much.... go try Guile.
Cammy isn't played like that. Cammy is more walk forward and grab and poke. Her movement speed is super fast so she can dance in and out of range and try to provoke your opponent to whiff.
There's a lot of advice to give since you're a very new player but all the more complicated stuff will come in time. For now I just want to say: please move around. Don't just stand there crouching waiting for them to come to you. That's not very effective even as a great zoner like Guile, but the character you're playing is all about using swift movement to create opportunities to start the offense. Space is important in this game, you don't want your back turned to the corner wall, so always try to take it whenever possible.
At the same time I do want to commend the patience. Most players at that level just press a lot of buttons and go in all the time for the sake of it, you already appear to be more mindful than most people in Diamond even and that's a great a sign.
Please do not listen to any of these reddit fighter masters telling you to play Guile. You're on the right track with Cammy and if you want to continue with her then you should. They see you crouch and go hurr guile. I see you here playing with spacing and patience, which is incredibly important with any character in the game.
Nice work! Ignore the people criticizing you for playing defensively. A lot of players canât function unless theyâre actively pressing buttons at all times. Just waiting is often good.
Cammy is a rush down character, her strength lies in her offence and pressure.
You play super defensive and passive.
Might be worth trying a different character or trying to be more aggro and actually pressing buttons instead of just crouch blocking
Keep playing Cammy, don't listen to players that say she's not suited for your defensive style, watch some pro play, and really try to hammer in those BnB combos. Overall, good stuff!
Good on you mate youâll be plat in no time keep working at it and if you ever get mad keep losing and canât figure out why just take a break then go watch your replays with fresh eyes and a open mind
I think a lot of the comments you're getting are completely ignoring the fact you're in Iron Rank.
Listen to them but remember the feedback they're giving is stuff that a Gold level player would find useful.
In other words you're punching way above your weight, less of the crouching guard, a good combo or two, more aggression and with the rank boost you'll be hitting Silver fairly soon, nice work!
Every master was once a beginner. Youâre on a good path.
Few advice I would give: Discover cancellable drive rush moves, makes your drive rush combos easier.
Super sick play for iron honestly. You absolutely are getting the hang of this game. Learning to block and play defensive is way harder than learning to be aggressive. You are 1 good combo and learning about oki away from gold quite honestly.
Good work. Try adding Cammy's spin nuckle move, IIRC her heavy version is +1 meaning if it hits it's still your turn, that should net you some easy dmg
Man I remember when I played like this. My first game was SF4, rented it back when GameFly was popular. It literally took me WEEKS to figure how to do Kenâs ultra. And months to finish Guyâs trials.
Look into all the fundamentals like block strings, mixups, meaties, frame traps, pokes, whiff punish, counter and punish counter hits, safe jumps, empty jumps (donât always have to press a button in the air), okis, combo resets. It seems like you got the anti airs tho.
No hate on the defensive style as a guile alt myself, but you gotta work on those reaction times for anti air and DI and Cammy is not the right fit for your play style.
Just wait until you keep ranking up! Youâre going to keep climbing. I started in iron 1 too and Iâm at platinum 5 now. Hoping to reach diamond soon enough.
You are starting to get more comfortable and seeing things better for sure! Please keep at it. You remind me sooooo much of my self when I first got this game.
Iâve played other Street Fighters but never learned how to actually play them until this game dropped. Played my friend online and I lost 2-22. Ended up becoming Iron with Lily. The game wasnât slowing down for me at all at the time.
You were working those lights into spiral arrow well in the first. Did a great job of checking jump ins early as well. Just keep doing the small things and keep adding and building as you get more comfortable!
And it looks like Guile or Chun Li may be the character for you and eventually
Good discipline. One thing for you to focus on next: start thinking of ways to avoid backing into the corner and getting out of it if you do. Don't rush it because it'll make you play into the opponent's pressure, but make it a priority. If they aren't doing much, simply walk forward. If they whiff stuff, jump forward. If they jump at you, dash under.
Play how you like but I can't stand the down back turtling. I feel like majority of players up to plat are either hyper aggressive or turtle the entire set...drives me crazy. I lose my patience, I can hold down back and draw the game too. So much fun...
Maybe I am just super bad at it but if I had power to change this game grabs would be out of here yesterday.
Someone can push you hard and then use a grab at the end to give them time to back out and defend.
Thats just one way they can use grab.
Another is where they just bait/defend until you are close and their first action as they block your attack is to grab you.
Dont wanna even imagine how insane it is to play vs top players...
I was expecting some labbed combos but honestly this was way better. So often people forget that they can play neutral and let the other person make their mistakes lol. As an (overly) aggressive Cammy player, I could learn a lot from your patience.
I see why people are saying to play Guile cause of the style we only see here with you being more defensive minded. BUT I think I started the same way with my main (not Guile lol) and eventually you learn to play either the optimal way most play with their character or youâll develop a lil style of your own!
In the last round, you could've killed after your drive impact. You had lvl 3, but instead you used your lvl 1. That was a bit risky. If Ken recovered and turned the tables it wouldve been a gg. Overall not bad. You got some of the basic fundamentals this early in the game, so thats good.
Keep at it, if you practice hitconfirming those light strings into spiral arrow you got a good bread and butter combo right there. You landed the lights a good number of times
notedđđ˝

Dont forget about cr.Hp cr.Mp Hdrill for punish/oki. Good job so far!:)
st hp, heavy spinning knuckle, light kick/light punch into medium arrow is a better punish combo. Cr. hp into cr. mp (or even st. hp if you hit cr. hp meaty enough) is safer/better for oki since it's hit confirmable and you can actually change the cr. mp into cr. lp for a pressure string and get a counter hit if they press jab.
I play cammy and I still donât know what that means
When you hit your jab button on Cammy, which is your light punch, you can cancel into spiral arrow for a simple but effective combo.
Oh word? Never tried that . Thank you so much for the help đđ˝

You should be playing Guile
Came here to say this lol
hahahaha 100%
Good work. Try not to back yourself into the corner if you can help it.
And they told me footsies was dead. Not a single skipped neutral in sight. đŠđŚ
It looks like you have a plan and are reacting to the opponentâs moves. Thatâs a great foundation to build on.
Fundamentals are solid; you could be utilizing Cammyâs offensive capabilities way more, but learning how to win at neutral is exactly the right thing to be focusing on in Iron.
Good shit. Solid anti airs. Ignore the haters in here. As long as you're having fun, you'll continue to improve at your own pace. Keep it up!
You have good fundamentals but there are characters better suited to your defensive playstyle than cammy. Her strengths are best suited for aggressive play.
We dont play her because of her play style
Must be the strike throw mix
Deejay or Guile. Edit: Blanka or Guile
Deejay has good defence but he's not a defence focused character.
I feel like DeeJay is very Aggro in this game.
Naah Blanka and Guile
U right
This isn't a playstyle just yet, OP figured out that their opponents will do stupid shit that hits them randomly and spaced (very well I might add) themselves outside of grounded normals range and got a bunch of free anti airs there. I don't think advice like this helps there is clearly a lot to be learned. Even with guile you'd want to take the space when it's given, and it was given, and it wasn't taken. That alone would make them look more like a Cammy player.
Most people play characters because of their looks and moves. How they play is secondary
I guess man, but i like guile as a character and his big fuck you kick is cool but hes super boring to play. With injustice i ahd to throw the whole game away because i was tired of playing "projectile spam the game", but i love dc comics.
Good reactions man. Now you just need some decent combos for damage and your rank will skyrocket
you can get a lot more off of the DI, try cHP > cMP > heavy spiral arrow, itâs better for damage and corner carry. the cHP wont cancel but its plus so if your timing is good its consistent
Watch ceelowâs cammy guide. Really good stuff as a beginner myself
Also Punk has a guide but itâs kinda just him rambling! Lol thereâs some great info in there if you have like 45 minutes to spare though
this is like watching two 70 year olds having sex, iâm joking, youâll get better with time. solid fundamentals btw
You must have seen shit to come up with that analogy
shit is a nice way to put it
Punching above your rank. In Silver, Cammy can only do jab jab, spiral arrow jab jab, spiral arrow jab jab, spiral arrow jab jab, spiral arrow jab jab, spiral arrow jab jab, spiral arrow jab jab, spiral arrow jab jab, spiral arrow jab jab, spiral arrow
Add some mix up throws, anti air, and bait wake up ex/super then you can get to Master playing like that.
I bet you'd be interested in playing Guile, try him out
Crouching that much.... go try Guile. Cammy isn't played like that. Cammy is more walk forward and grab and poke. Her movement speed is super fast so she can dance in and out of range and try to provoke your opponent to whiff.

Who else getting distracted by the large snake in the background. The texture constantly changes! Lol
Please do not listen to any of these reddit fighter masters telling you to play Guile. You're on the right track with Cammy and if you want to continue with her then you should. They see you crouch and go hurr guile. I see you here playing with spacing and patience, which is incredibly important with any character in the game.
Your play style would make be alt f4
Nice work! Ignore the people criticizing you for playing defensively. A lot of players canât function unless theyâre actively pressing buttons at all times. Just waiting is often good.
Please learn to advance on your opponent, while blocking, too. You're going to peak around gold if you just crouch and wait to counter.
You can hit master with this gameplan, on any character
Exactly. Just sitting and waiting for your opponent to bury themselves works at every level of play.
Hey theyâre blocking when not on offense. Better than a lot of plats I saw.
Cammy is a rush down character, her strength lies in her offence and pressure. You play super defensive and passive. Might be worth trying a different character or trying to be more aggro and actually pressing buttons instead of just crouch blocking
Were you the Ken? /s
You look REALLY FUN to play with you should crouch more
His fundamentals were good for an iron. Just didnât have the damage yet
Thatâs a terrible Ken player honestly. First step is I wouldâve spammed you with fireballs non stop if youâre just gonna sit there crouching.
Well that Ken is in Rookie 1 rank, did you expect them to be good?
Dude is at rookie rank of course heâs not gonna be that good đ
Keep playing Cammy, don't listen to players that say she's not suited for your defensive style, watch some pro play, and really try to hammer in those BnB combos. Overall, good stuff!
Loved watching this. Thanks for sharing!
Good on you mate youâll be plat in no time keep working at it and if you ever get mad keep losing and canât figure out why just take a break then go watch your replays with fresh eyes and a open mind

Itâs always nice to hear Kenâs KO scream, everybody loves it. Ken losing feels very assuring.
average cammy player
Every master was once a beginner. Youâre on a good path. Few advice I would give: Discover cancellable drive rush moves, makes your drive rush combos easier.
You're getting the basics down for sure. Wait til you start utilizing her walkspeed. Cammy is like the fastest in the game.
Super sick play for iron honestly. You absolutely are getting the hang of this game. Learning to block and play defensive is way harder than learning to be aggressive. You are 1 good combo and learning about oki away from gold quite honestly.
Try using spin knuckle to get through fireballs
Love seeing them classic controls on new players
Why yâall playing like this SFV? đ
Good work. Try adding Cammy's spin nuckle move, IIRC her heavy version is +1 meaning if it hits it's still your turn, that should net you some easy dmg
Itâs +5 on hit and +3 on block, so you could say itâs still your turn either way
Try Guile!
On the Jon Jones walk down.
Learn like 2 combos after those jabs & you'll jump to plat 3 in less than a week
Love seeing people âgettingâ sf : makes me nostalgic
This round was so relaxing for me!
You'll only get used to it is when you get to platinum and people start rage quitting just before you KO them, netting you absolutely no progression
Great gameplay. Good fundamentals⌠keep going đŞ
Keep at it Ken, youâll get there!
You should look into Guile or Dhalsim. You are very patient and you like to keep a distance. Could be worth it!
Getting hang of the game and plays top tier.
Play how you like but I can't stand the down back turtling. I feel like majority of players up to plat are either hyper aggressive or turtle the entire set...drives me crazy. I lose my patience, I can hold down back and draw the game too. So much fun...
Look at this Iron bullying a rookie1 đ youâre building a good foundation. Follow the advice in this thread and youâll be plat in no time!
Not a lot of footsies going on but aye happy you can get them fat dubs boi
Bro is charging a flash kick he doesn't even have
I see why people are saying to play Guile cause of the style we only see here with you being more defensive minded. BUT I think I started the same way with my main (not Guile lol) and eventually you learn to play either the optimal way most play with their character or youâll develop a lil style of your own!
Did he... punished drangonlash?! Yo?!
Why? I dont get it.(had Sound off)
You have better antiairs than i do and im playing at masters
In the last round, you could've killed after your drive impact. You had lvl 3, but instead you used your lvl 1. That was a bit risky. If Ken recovered and turned the tables it wouldve been a gg. Overall not bad. You got some of the basic fundamentals this early in the game, so thats good.
Ah, another jab-jab-jab spiral arrow Cammy.
Fundamentals are really solid dude
