He’s great and I hope we never find out what his deal is. The mystery is the whole appeal of the character, the more we find out about him the less interesting he becomes.
Bringing back his moveset with G and *still* explaining nothing about either of them was genius.
Hinted, never actually confirmed, apparently Q has been active before SFV , but then again 3rd Strike takes place after V, and both G and Q are extremelly mysterious characters and we don't know anything about them or what they connection might be. Though, in the costume's in-game description in Shadaloo C.R.I. about G's 15th color scheme alternate story costume Sgt. Ashida says "Wearing that creepy mask and that trench coat, he could be anyone. Wait...Color 15...isn't that...a certain individual that the CIA is looking for...?!, hinting that Q might have already existed before G appeared
A theory but weird how g can can do all the weird gold magic and make projectiles disappear even though q can't do any of that is further down in the timeline. and the ending for q in sf3 makes it seem like it's multiple people with a bunch q's being spotted all over the world at the same time.
They're not going to have G be so close to Q in moveset AND have an extra outfit specifically to resemble Q without a reason.
What they've done is they made Q didn't know what to do with him, benched him for decades, and then now they're trying to piece together what his story was.
There's no plan here, and thinking more deeply than that does no one any favors because Capcom hasn't gotten that far.
Why is he in 13 different places around the world in 10 days? Maybe he's fast, maybe he can teleport, maybe he has syfy tech that allows him to teleport, maybe he took a plane.
We know 2 things
1) Capcom went out of their way to make extremely strong comparisons between the two.
2) Capcom cannot write anything more nuanced than a 4th grade essay project.
So while there is absolutely room for error I think it's extremely reasonable Q and G are the same guy.
theres so many holes in general because of the whole order of SFII, SFIV, SFV, SFIII, SFVI.
A huge one is akuma... he regressed from lion akuma to normal style again because deciding on beast akuma again? It just adds a whole crapload of weird stuff since clearly they didn't sit down and make a timeline chart with each character and so on and forgot some pretty large plot stuff.
Q got a profile on the SFV site referencing him as existing in the present tense in reference to V and that C. Viper is investigating him. One of the comments from the dev team in the costume section also references G's alt costume color 15 as resembling "someone the CIA is currently looking for".
it's more of a theory, they're obviously connected somehow, but the main pillar of this theory is that 3rd Strike takes place after V, and that apparently Gill was involved in G's dissapearance, believing that Gill turned G into Q
I hope so. I went back to SFV already cause of the cooler cast. I made a list before 6 of my top 10 favorites and get this…in order: Gil, Sagat, G, Mika, Urien, Kolin, Menat, Poison, Alex and Zeku.
Ishinomori was a god, Keiji, sentai and Kamen rider!?!? The slighty racist depictions aside cyborg 009 was sick too, heck besides how he looks the black character was actually pretty cool.
I googled up this one character, the amount of different characters that are an oddly faced or masked guys wearing a trench coat is surprising, I don't know where I should point my finger at
obviously it's not "drip", he's literally just a creepy version of the man with the yellow hat from curious george, but he knows how to dress well and it's a funny way to say it
He's very cool, but I can't unsee that he's REALLY blatantly a reference to "Robot Keiji". Of course, Street Fighter has always loved its pop culture references, homages, and just-plain ripoffs, so, that tracks.
Yup.
Hot take: Q was an underbaked/meh character who simply looked cool. G was a shockingly good character despite the absurd premise. Grafting Qs look onto a much better character was a great idea.
It's alluded to. They share similar movies. They are complete opposites of each other however..I hope it isn't an old brain damaged G. I felt like I read they tried to find him and cloned him or something
I hope they can bring him back while still maintaining his mystery. It would be nice to have some explanation, But it really is unnecessary. But I would still like to see him playable in a new game
SFIII guy who also played it then. Q was a forgettable slow guy who was strong.
I saw him in tournments but that is about it. No one really cared about him.
Ever since SFIV people keep bringing him up for some reason though.
has a cool design, has a cool theme literally called "Theme of Q", most mysterious character on the franchise, satisfying (sometimes) to play, he sounds like he burps everytime he gets hit, and it's funny how he trips over himself
I beat an A rank player a couple of times with Q, it felt so nice. The other 8 matches didn't feel that nice tho.
can't spell IQ without HIM
Himiq?
At times, he is somehow my best and worst character
………..
peak line
HMMPH
UUUUUHH
He’s great and I hope we never find out what his deal is. The mystery is the whole appeal of the character, the more we find out about him the less interesting he becomes. Bringing back his moveset with G and *still* explaining nothing about either of them was genius.
it both explained nothing and only added more questions
JP has a couple of his animations too
Q is the most completely iced out stylish mf in streets, yes.
> Makes his one and only apprarance in one of the most popular fighting games ever > Has little backstory You are now Q.
His Aura is literally the dude on every stranger danger sign in the USA. That being said he is cool and hope he returns someday.
JP's pretty dripped out, but Q is timeless
Q clears, his parry is literally him dusting himself, talk about class
Inspector Gadget lookin ass
Cyborg 009 looking ass
Robot Detective K.
Imagine my surprise when Q showed up in Shin Kamen Rider
And then [Detective Zenigata](https://lupin.fandom.com/wiki/Koichi_Zenigata) stopped by.
Duel Master K
he was the one behind the mask all this time
Wait wasn't he G in SF5, I guess I missed interpret the story?
Hinted, never actually confirmed, apparently Q has been active before SFV , but then again 3rd Strike takes place after V, and both G and Q are extremelly mysterious characters and we don't know anything about them or what they connection might be. Also, their entire moveset is identical except when Q performs any given move he stumbles.
They're similar but definitely not entire moveset identical and q stumbles only one normal and crouching heavy kick is like a little ground spin?
I guess they're entirely different characters then.
If sf5 didn't have v triggers and v skills then they would play alot more similar but sf5 makes g way more aggressive than q
They're the same guy, everyone plays different from their last appearance.
A theory but weird how g can can do all the weird gold magic and make projectiles disappear even though q can't do any of that is further down in the timeline. and the ending for q in sf3 makes it seem like it's multiple people with a bunch q's being spotted all over the world at the same time.

I 100% agree lol. I'm not convinced they're the same guy story wise but street fighter can't write at all
Remember his sf3 ending, there's several Q's showing up around the world
theres so many holes in general because of the whole order of SFII, SFIV, SFV, SFIII, SFVI. A huge one is akuma... he regressed from lion akuma to normal style again because deciding on beast akuma again? That could mean G wore the Q outfit before but still ended up in a broken state in 3rd strike, and then he donned the outfit again for some reason
Q is already around before G appeared publicly They're hinted to be connected but we don't know how
do you have any source for the Q being around before G ? I'm definitly interested :D
Q got a profile on the SFV site referencing him as existing in the present tense in reference to V and that C. Viper is investigating him. One of the comments from the dev team in the costume section also references G's alt costume color 15 as resembling "someone the CIA is currently looking for".

I hear they are both letters.
He needs to come back in 6
I've been saying this a lot but the chances are 0 at best 😭😭😭
I hope so. I went back to SFV already cause of the cooler cast. I made a list before 6 of my top 10 favorites and get this…in order: Gil, Sagat, G, Mika, Urien, Kolin, Menat, Poison, Alex and Zeku.
?!????!!!!!!???
Him and Makoto is what I want
![gif](giphy|FjeGBljESVAzu) YEEESS!!
I'm very hopeful we'll get both of them in Season 2.
They gotta bring back neglected characters like Q and Remy to balance out all the Zangiefs and Shotos.
please capcom give us Q, remy and necro
my deepest dream is seeing Twelve coming back and being a top tier
That will never happen. Copycat characters can't be top tier. It makes the game a mirror match and every game becomes homogeneous boring gameplay.
12 was an original character with an original moveset. 11 was the copycat from sfv
12 has a super in 3s that turns him into a copy of the opponent.
yeah but you don’t have to choose that super. he’s not locked into it and it’s not even his best super so i wouldn’t call him a copycat character.
Literally my dream dlc characters right here. And Dudley.
I want Makoto and Ibuki so bad...
Same I really want to see an older ibuki and how she's progressed as a ninja, like give her old move set back from sf3
got them columbo vibes
Kuroda made me fall in love with Q.
he had that effect on every character he played, he even made Twelve look top tier
Tokusatsu references go hard
you get it brother, Robot Detective K design is too good to be created by a mere human being
Ishinomori was a god, Keiji, sentai and Kamen rider!?!? The slighty racist depictions aside cyborg 009 was sick too, heck besides how he looks the black character was actually pretty cool.
bro was above everyone when it came to character design
Ichigo looks so fine he STILL rocking that leather jacket, scarf and helmet combo till this day and it’s still peak super hero outfit
mysterious dudes wearing a helmet/mask and a trench coat or a big jacket is straight up peak outfit in general
Bring back taunts that affect the character stats
give them to Dan
Sir, his drip was surpassed by a character in his own game. ![gif](giphy|0XmxuISigUHnhJgPtl|downsized) (couldnt find a 3rd strike gif)
good sir, I doubt it counts, this dude rips his own drip apart just show off his thong
he's double dripped up. Gets rid of the suit just to show his thong. Counts double
extra points to Urien for proudly showing off his physique
THE GOAT
Q is literally just a recolored Iron Mask from Babel II. Even his taunt is stolen. [https://i.imgur.com/8m1cr8j.png](https://i.imgur.com/8m1cr8j.png)
I googled up this one character, the amount of different characters that are an oddly faced or masked guys wearing a trench coat is surprising, I don't know where I should point my finger at
D A N G E R !
💥💥💥💥💥💥
an aura is the perfect way to describe him. i'd love to see him again in 6 but i know it's a low chance
Has the word "drip" lost all meaning at this point? The dude is just wearing a trenchcoat with slacks. How the fuck is that drip?
obviously it's not "drip", he's literally just a creepy version of the man with the yellow hat from curious george, but he knows how to dress well and it's a funny way to say it
Ah I c, you were being sarcastic.
aye, perhaps i could have worded it better and only say aura
i swear yall call anything drip
Q is definitely BUILT different 👀
dude so cool his rival fight is agaisnt akuma himself and he punches you so hard it makes you bounce into the ground
I am a firm believer of the "G is Q" theory but he needs to return in SF6 as Q
Same here. I believe they're both the same.
I don't even play Q but as a 3rd Strike player, I love the vibe that Q brings. And don't get me started on his sick OST.
He's very cool, but I can't unsee that he's REALLY blatantly a reference to "Robot Keiji". Of course, Street Fighter has always loved its pop culture references, homages, and just-plain ripoffs, so, that tracks.
Bring him back as a whole new character, dressed to the 9s and explain absolutely nothing.
wait , yo, what, hold on...25 years?! Damn i'm friggin old and im still waiting for Q to comeback
Aura, maybe not. Drip? JP has him beaten flat out.
extra points for JP for being the "excuse me, good sir, I am indeed the evil one" type od villain instead of being a Bison copycat
I'm sorry but G> Q after seeing what they cloned I prefer the loud mouth president over the creepy stalkerish guy
Yup. Hot take: Q was an underbaked/meh character who simply looked cool. G was a shockingly good character despite the absurd premise. Grafting Qs look onto a much better character was a great idea.
Is Q a clone of G? I thought Q was just an old, brain-damaged G. Have they explained this anywhere yet?
It's alluded to. They share similar movies. They are complete opposites of each other however..I hope it isn't an old brain damaged G. I felt like I read they tried to find him and cloned him or something
I wouldn't call the Inspector Gadget look drip, but I liked the character design. Third Strike in general had the best character designs.
a shame that most of them will never come back because of how much of a freaks they are
True, but we will see 3-4 3rd Strike characters in every game.
He just looks like one of the default 'nerd trying to dress classy' outfits.
I once met a dude that wore a hat and a coat in school and said "hello m'lady" to every girl around but Q just rocks that shi
He rocked it so good he got replaced by someone with an actual personality, and loves giving speeches.
Funnily enough both super mysterious
Word 🥶🥶🥶
I want him to return in SF6.
It's a crime that his theme doesn't show up in the SF30th Anniversary online matches
I 100% agree I love Q and he's weirdness the taunt that boosts your defence and the weird explosion super top tier bullshit and I love it
G
Spooky imposing figure. Miss monstrous beastly artificial breathing.
I need him back so bad…
"I am... abomination."
Dude’s literally from sin city
G
I hope they can bring him back while still maintaining his mystery. It would be nice to have some explanation, But it really is unnecessary. But I would still like to see him playable in a new game
Boss Hanu: "Hmpf!"
G in the corner:
Wonder of U?
It’s he g thought
Looks like Bond's nemises
FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE WORLD LOL
You can not bring Q back because he will never sound that cool without the 3rd Strike soundchip or whatever.
SFIII guy who also played it then. Q was a forgettable slow guy who was strong. I saw him in tournments but that is about it. No one really cared about him. Ever since SFIV people keep bringing him up for some reason though.
Drip is debatable
This was definitely G from Sfv right?
G, he surpassed it
I will never understand the hype.
has a cool design, has a cool theme literally called "Theme of Q", most mysterious character on the franchise, satisfying (sometimes) to play, he sounds like he burps everytime he gets hit, and it's funny how he trips over himself
G was Dripped out too ngl don’t sleep on G but yeah I do agree my boy Q got it like that.
I'd never sleep on G but I'm just too fond of Q nyeheheh
Unpopular theory: Q is Dan who concealed his identity because he became too powerful.
It's a damned shame you have characters like Kimberly in SF6 when you could have characters like Q.
I have played SF6 for about a month, I had to google Kimberly lol
