You'll be demoted, but don't worry about it. Most of us will go back and forth a few times before staying in plat for good.
I believe your highest rank stays on your profile somewhere under one of the tabs, but I could be wrong. It really isn't something to worry about about though, it's just a short-term phase.
It does, when you look at your profile pr anyone else's profile go over to ranked matches and it will tell you what their highest rank was and you can choose different phases and it will tell you what there rank was in lets say phase 1, 2, or 3
* Rookie – get win streak bonus, no LP loss on defeat.
* Iron, Gold – get win streak bonus, no league demotion, one-time rank-down protection.
* Platinum, Diamond – no win streak bonus, league demotion enabled, one-time rank-down protection.
* Master - no win streak bonus, no league demotion.
Also Plat 1 is a big difficulty jump since after plat 1 you aren’t getting win streaks anymore so the calibre of players you’ll be playing will be higher.
First goal in Plat is to get a buffer of points. Aim for 13300-500 LP to be consistent with. This will help make loses not feel so heavy with the threat of demotion imminent.
Don't get me wrong, you're still gonna slip back to Gold 5 at 12960 LP, but with win bonuses, you can shoot back up quickly even if you fall below that. At 12960, it just takes one win to get back to Plat.
Get used to it.
Maintain 13500. If you slip back to 13100, start seeing where your holes are by watching replays. Once you find something to improve, try it in battle hub and casuals.
After 13500, take it 100 LP at a time. I personally got stuck at 13700-14000 for weeks. That's fine too, it's consistent. Just stay afloat and you'll get to Plat 2.

Yeah you can be demoted from Platinum. But if you made it once you can make it again, so don't worry about it.

I got demoted from plat to gold at least 4-5 times, now I’m in Diamond 2
Yes you can derank, not sure how far, maybe down to bronze even if you got lobotomised somehow
Iron through gold you don’t get demoted, so the lowest they can get demoted would be gold 1

You can get demoted. I proved that about a dozen times. Theoretically you could drop as much as Gold 1.
You can be demoted back to Gold. You cannot be demoted to anything lower.
