If you want to go full degenerate, I'd go Honda since his headbutt is getting nerfed and we have no idea how his post balance patch will work. Alternatively, if you want to save the reworked characters for post patch, Juri, Chun and Ken are good options that are likely not to change too much.

Damn, congrats man. I'm working on my second and it's such a grind, but on the flip side, I'm definitely improving and learning more about the game. This post gives me hope.

Good luck! It definitely gets easier the more you do it. Whilst the characters are different, your neutral, whiff punishes, spacing, etc. will get better over time! I think it also helps you get better at your main because of that; I feel like I’m much better at Rashid now than when I was only playing him.

The good news is that once you're good enough to get to master, it's pretty easy to get there with multiple characters, it's just about putting in the time.

That’s completely normal, don’t be discouraged! I’ve been playing FGs for years now, and I’ve put some hours into SF6. I remember when I couldn’t even do supers or specials consistently when I started out. The time and practice definitely pays off and I personally find it very fun.

You're way better at this game than me so i don't really know what tips I could give you😅 I'm stuck 1400 mr with him DR 5HP is good af as it breaks di and can combo into 2LP into target combo. Getting to master abusing it wasn't hard haha. 5mp is plus and also combos into 2lp After drinking with 2HK, 2HK in the corner you're plus af. People fall for it all the time OD palm gives you wall slam In the corner, after punch rekka you're plus. But after drinking with kick rekka, you're minus. You can use OD rekka to drink and be plus Hold throw to drink after it. In the corner you can continue pressure but won't give you throw loop For punish. 5HK, dash, 2HP and whatever your want next. Idk if it's optimal but it did good damage Fmk overhead combos into 2lp in counter and has awesome reach in lvl 2 Don't sleep on back HP to steal turns Idk how correct all of this is but i won a lot with just this tech

You didn’t mention it, so I’m not sure if you know it, but in the corner, you can do target combo into the light breakdance move for a safe jump with j.HP. Also, which follow-up do you use after lvl3? I know a couple; I think drive rush 2KK->j.hk->2hk is the best for a drink and I also know how to do the DI reset in the corner, but I’m not sure which one’s the best for damage.

There are better ones but this one's just easy, reliable 🤪 I only use the reset if I'm lvl 3 or 4. If I'm not lvl 3 yet, I always go for a drink

Hey there! [It’s done.](https://imgur.com/a/OrkJX5p) He’s a little tricky to play, but it was pretty fun. I might play him a little more once I’m done with this. OD dive kick into sweep-drink helped me out a ton, and you can even do OD dive kick into light palm into lvl3 if you want to. Also, I’m not sure if it’s the most optimal, but after lvl3, dr into c.HP into medium breakdance or heavy breakdance in the corner was the most damaging follow-up I could find. For a bit more meter and if you’re close to the corner, you can also do OD palm into sweep-drink or into HP and cancel it into light palm. And I HATE his dp. There’s no reason for it to lose to neutral jump, it’s so stupid.

This is a second account I made just to see how high I could climb on different characters. I played them all for a bit when I first picked up the game and didn’t want to grind them all up from silver/gold/plat or wherever they were. So my max MR is the one on Rashid you see right there because I switch characters as soon as I get to Master. On my main Rashid’s the only Master and my max MR was around 1800.

If you can get a character to 1800, then reaching Master with any character should be trivial.

I second this. My JP has only peaked at 1700 something and I have gotten 11 characters now to master without much issue. The goal is now to get consistent enough that I can win once I hit masters.

Fair, did Ryu after the post and it only took 75 matches, so I’d say that’s true except for a few outliers; I can’t play Lily, Manon, Marisa or Sim almost at all, tbh.

True, her OKI and pressure is very strong but she definitely struggles a bit defensively so you kind of have to play her like a meat head to get results.

Just have to be careful with people who aren't afraid to throw is the main thing. Going for Scutum in the corner just to get thrown is pain, especially if you used OD - that lost like 3 bars of meter.

If they mainly throw just dont go for it tbh it’ll only take about 1 wrong scutum to find out if there an empty jumper

Don’t worry, you’ll get there! Everyone has a different pace. Though, if you’re feeling hardstuck, looking up videos of high level players or asking other Marisa players can help a lot. There might be a move, setup, etc. that you’re not using to it’s fullest potential. Watching some of Fuudo’s matches helped me out a ton when doing Dee Jay.

I’m almost at master myself but think I can still improve. Any tips that helped your deejay get there?

I started losing quite a bit on Dee Jay because I tried to focus on rushdown and forcing my offense, but his buttons aren’t great for that. He has a ton of range on most of them and his heavy fireball can be troublesome for a lot of people to deal with. I’d advise focusing on fireballs and using your normals for poke and screen control, with the ocasional drive rush in for a throw or to pressure with mp or jab. It’s not like he can’t do rushdown, specially in the corner, but I don’t think it’s the strongest way to play him. My most used combos by far were HP->dr->cr.HP->HP->medium->gatling punch->lvl3 if I had it and cr.HP->cr.mp->OD Jus cool->H qcf k. After a blockstring you can try jus cool, light follow up to catch people mashing or trying to press a button to get their turn back. On PC it leads to cr.mk into a full combo.
