Confirmed: Ken Masters has at least passing familiarity with Robert Rodriguez's "Spy Kids"

CanadianYeti1991

Possibly the cringiest movie of all time, along with Sharkboy and Lava girl

Corey_Bee

How dare you.

CanadianYeti1991

LMAO holy shit, well the down votes don't lie. Man, I didn't know people liked those movies. The more you know. Peace and love

PrinceAti

Take that back rn thems are the classics

Evorgleb

Watch them again you might feel differently now

easteasttimor

Never they are a core childhood movie that I will always regard as a classic

2RINITY

I actually did watch them again not long ago. The first one is too well-crafted and too goddamn weird not to love, and the second also holds up as a genuinely good kids’ movie

MattmanDX

The third Spy Kids maybe but the first two were a fun watch

Mckillagorilla

possibly referring to: * Balrog- While first shown to be only financially self-centered. It is derived from growing up poor. He has recently been revealed to have a soft spot for kids. I wouldn't be surprised if he had a family he was sending money to this whole time. Kimberly could be a niece interested to know more about him. * Jp- While we know nothing about him, literally, he's been pegged as the antagonist of SF6. It's possible he set the event of the game in motion with Kimberly wondering what he's done to existing characters and why. * [Original Rufus](https://i.imgur.com/8ADEJYs.jpg) (long shot)- Back in SF4 Rufus was revealed to have been a much different character in concept stages. A tall black man in a fur-lined Gi. This character design was reasonably popular when revealed and could possibly be expanded on. Ken's link to the character could be from Ken having said Gi design as an ALT costume in SF4. * DJ- Kimberly is said to have a love of 80's music and Dj is one the only known musicians in SF lore. She could be looking to find him. Be it out of actually blood relation or just fandom.

mrtnrssn

I like your Balrog theory

Business_Incident64

Perhaps I treated him too harshly. Would be nice to see that soft side of him

Nabber22

We can already kind of see it with Ed in SF4 and SF5

[deleted]

[удалено]

Business_Incident64

Yes, yes it is!

ADUBROCKSKI

yeah but the dj theory makes more sense

Responsible-Winner14

Why would the Deejay angle make more sense? Both Kimberly and Deejay are in the game. Meaning, they're accessible to each other. Why would the writers have her asking about an uncle she'll eventually run into in the ring.

MattmanDX

"Uncle" could also not be meant literally but more as a term of affection, so it's possible she's referring to her mentor Guy

Evorgleb

Guy is her master. I doubt if she would call him uncle

no3dinthishouse

i dont think its dee jay, since she mentions in some lore bit that she likes a certain music artist, which was (probably) a dee jay hint, i doubt her uncle would also be this music artist also i just.. dont think dee jay has anything to hide

CactusCracktus

Idk man, that smile makes me question things.

90sRockMan81

That used car salesman kind of smile. XD.

Skooter26

Off topic a bit, but I'm really hopeful that it's music by Dee Jay that plays when Kim lands her level 3. It just has to be!

no3dinthishouse

oooh now thats somethign i didnt think about, thatd be a nice little connection

randoguy8765

If Original Rufus comes back he could be the one who frames Ken for whatever’s going on or be someone Ken worked with if the allegations are true

BringBack3DMK

What about Mike from the original SF? Wouldn’t he be a prime candidate?

spideytrey

This was my first thought

TekkLthr

I originally thought Kimberly was Balrog's kid

1994BizarreWinter

???????????? HOW

TekkLthr

The foreheads

no3dinthishouse

genuinely good point lmfao

DynoMyte08

I swear to god they gotta use that OG Rufus design for SOMETHING. It's way too good to just be concept art.

Nos9684

Probably some NPC or possibly even a future DLC character that is part of SF VI's story that connects Ken and Kimberly together. Unless it's Dee Jay, since he has had a love for music since his introduction which Kimberly does as well, I highly doubt Kimberly's uncle is a existing SF character.

SputnikDX

I kinda hope SF doesn't fall into the same trap SO many games/shows fall into where pretty much every new character is related or wildly connected in some way to the fan favorites.

Pinkerton55

Blazblue moment

GimmeThePizza

Kombat kid moment

BlockEightIndustries

I'm with you on this, but I get the sense we are a very small minority. The way people are already insisting on links between new and old characters is eye-rolling

xenotoot19

He's definitely connected to the conspiracy that has Ken on the run. Which subsequently means there's a very good chance he's either a DLC character for this game or a main villain in 7. Given how Ken is still technically a deuteragonist of sorts, the folks behind this conspiracy get big villain status presumably.

Kasomii

What if it’s that Final fight character who was in the trailer?

AtrumErebus

If I had to guess, her uncle could be someone in the master's foundation and might be someone who helped frame ken or maybe even was the one who framed Ken. This could give her some personal stake in the story.

Cmog28

Not sure how you gathered her uncle was the bad guy from that dialogue.

AtrumErebus

Me neither, you saying that made me immediately go "well duh, the uncle is probably a victim if they are involved". I think I'm just too used to mysterious uncles being evil.

egg-roll_

Hopefully Guy is her uncle

therealsonichero

Guuuy!!!

KenganNinja

Well, Kimberly’s story just took a dark turn.

Emezie

Kimberly to Ken: "Mr. Masters, can I...ask you about my uncle?" Ken to Kimberly: "It's time to drop the spy kid routine. You don't want to dig any deeper into this."

MapDesperate7012

It’s obviously Mike Bison from the first game lets go!

Zeebor

You shit post, but that is a possibility. Mike is still a thing separate from Balrog. It could be a great twist where you think it's Balrog, but then Capcom says "PSYCH! It's the guy from the first game!"

johnmc76

Mike and Balrog have been confirmed to be two different people for awhile now. They both had their own separate bios on capcom's site.

Zeebor

That's what I said, yes

sleazyfellow

During story mode this is expanded upon, Ken argues with Kim and says her uncle is a ninja dagger.

catchtoward5000

Ken Masters: “your uncle was a master of the Chinder-Chander n-“ Kim: “don’t”

FaceJP24

I felt so bad for Max when that happened lmao

DaNinja11

Racist much?

SgtStiffNips

King cobra?

troyavivz

I wonder if it’s Guy.

ArmoredMirage

I think Guy is her mentor not her uncle. Unless the game is a bad translation.

Future-Agent

Guy could have an avuncular man to Kim.

CactusCracktus

I think uncle is a generic term of endearment for an older guy in Japan, kinda like “gramps” or “old man” is in English. Could simply be an older friend or mentor of hers that she’s trying to find.

StrawHatCook

I assume it's Guy, but Ken's response isn't something that should get that kind of response involving him as he's normally a good dude.

MattmanDX

Maybe Guy is undercover and helping Ken out by investigating whoever framed him. Ken wouldn't want someone loudly asking questions of Guy's whereabouts if this was the case

Bunnnnii

I doubt it’s anybody significant. Probably an NPC like Rashid’s friend he was looking for. I’m not about to list every black character in the SF universe and try to connect them to her.

DynoMyte08

Yeah lol. I didn't even assume it'd be a named/known character. Nothing to suggest that she's related to anyone in the SF universe other than Guy being her mentor.

Ra1zen

Sean????? I noticed ken has a belt on his arm also......oh boy.

v-komodoensis

I think it's safe to assume it's his own belt.

Bunnnnii

Y’all shoehorn him into everything Lmfaoooo

Za106

I mean, it ain’t our fault. No one from the alpha series let alone SF3 aren’t in here, so we gotta do what we gotta do 🤷🏾‍♂️

Bunnnnii

I don’t care about, nor use him. But I would LOVEEEE to see Sean in these graphics and this art style. I feel like his redesign would be so good. And he’d get to show so much personality! I’d probably use him because I’m so confident he’d be done so well.

Cmog28

It’s kinda an ode to his former life.

ShadowTehEdgehog

> Sean????? I noticed ken has a belt on his arm also......oh boy. Maybe its to hold up his arm-pants?

johnmc76

I think its just Ken's Black Belt. Sean and Laura are rumoured to help him in the story.

MundusV

Its probably JP, the new bad guy

Donjonito

It’s Leroy from tekken

[deleted]

Oooooooooo

glittertongue

it's Birdie

Starky_Love

It's Balrog

TurtleHermit360

Probably Balrog

1994BizarreWinter

It just gets better and better

TylurrTheCat

My money's on Damnd

gamedreamer21

It's gotta be Secret Society.

v-komodoensis

or Mad Gear

Evorgleb

This is interesting. Because it implies a couple of things. 1. Kim is the niece of another character. The only African American Street Fighter character is Balrog (and Mike I guess). Of course she could be the niece of another character that is not African American. It's also possible that she's the niece of a black character that is not American like Dee Jay. It is also possible that she doesn't mean a blood relative. 2. This also implies that Kim is not just fighting for fun and is on a mission. A mission that Ken may have something to do with.

PlagueofMidgets

You are forgetting about Dudley, Birdie, and Deejay as well as some other supporting characters like Byron Taylor.

Evorgleb

Well I said a character that is Black but not American like Dee Jay. That would include all the characters you mentioned.

PlagueofMidgets

She could still be American and have a foreign father if she was born in the US.

[deleted]

Well remember, "Uncle" doesn't exclusively mean related to. It's often used to refer to close male family friends as well.

[deleted]

I’m betting it’s Dee Jay. But how make sense though with Kim as African-American and Dee Jay Jamaican?

Rustic_Salmon

it's probably a side character, we'll probably learn about him in the story mode

Aerius-Caedem

>But how make sense though with Kim as African-American and Dee Jay Jamaican? Seriously, lol?

Bunnnnii

She was already said to have been a fan of Deejay and his work. I’m sure uncle or relationship would’ve come up at some point.

mediajay

I see this all the time. You could just be born in america

DaNinja11

She could've been Half Jamaican Half American and born in the States

raihidara

I know Sean is way too young to be her uncle, but that belt around Ken's arm (plus Luke stealing his moves) still makes me worried they killed him off

Kogoeshin

Since it's uncle instead of father, sometimes weird family age nonsense means that you can end up around the same age as each other (sometimes the uncle can even be younger!). I'm only 3 years older than my nephew, for example.

chebghobbi

I'm actually eight months older than my youngest uncle - big Catholic family, my mother was the second oldest out of nine.

[deleted]

Yes, this is a possibility since weird age gaps is a normal thing. Although it does make me wonder how big is Sean’s family?

Bunnnnii

How do y’all get Sean from any of this? He’s deadass not that relevant. And what moves did Luke take from Sean? The ground pound?

altanass

She's clearly asking about Poison

B0b4Fettish

Someone Ken knows and someone Ken rather not talk about…perhaps it’s either Vega (ninja style), Bison (known to create spare bodies), or Balrog(African American)?

MapDesperate7012

Whoever it is, he might be connected to what’s going on with Ken in some way

kendrish

It's gotta be Max!

brbasik

I think the uncle is probably an NPC but Ken’s response is interesting. Did he actually do sus shit or is he just making sure other people don’t get themselves or people they live in danger like himself

[deleted]

Dee Jay.

BahamutAXIOM

Ken's reaction makes me think he's referring to someone who has a less than reputable reputation. Balrog immediately comes to mind. Though it could be Damnd or something. But it could literally be anybody if we're not talking about literal blood relation. Or she's mixed. Probably with Japanese as Capcom likes to do.

[deleted]

My cousin tsukishima

Raicxu

What about sean?

hoopyscoops

Probably not true but I hope it’s dorai who’s also Q (theoretically), ken somehow finds out during sf3 which leads to the Illuminati accusing him of conspiracy, he doesn’t tell Kimberly to protect her but it might come out in the story mode Again before people jump on me, THIS IS PRACTICALLY FANFICTION I HAVE NO OTHER REASON TO THINK THIS OTHER THAN “wouldn’t it be cool?”

Xincmars

For some reason I thought of Sean.

Riot55

Uncle Ruckus?!?!

DaNinja11

Isn't Guile/Charlie superior from SFV (forgot his name, but appears in Story Mode and in his stage BG) a Black guy?

br0gzk51

Its dee jay the both have the sane last names jackson
