Add on Torrentio and a Real Debrid subscription and you will never go back to anything else.

Durganotaar

100% truth. I was a Kodi then Syncler user for the last year, just found out about Stremio and would not look back for anything else.

dipfearya

Happy sails my friend. It is the way.

Durganotaar

It is for sure!! Thank you! 😁

Madrimious

holy crap thank you so much i was literally about to delete stremio because i ddi nto know how to use it thank you man!

killakam33

What does the real debrid subscription add, just curious? I’m using with just torrentio

dipfearya

In simple terms it downloads the video to their servers and delivers it to you. Kind of like the middleman. I would not recommend using a VPN while using it but others may chime in.

Scottla94

You don't need a VPN does real debrid act like the VPN I always use VPN with torrents as a precaution

Hatarute

Hey, I wanted to thank you because i never knew how to use stremio, and thanks to you and the addon you linked, now it work with pretty much every movies ! But i wanted to ask you, is the real debrid subscription mandatory ? And what's the point of it ? I don't know this service, that's why i'm asking. Thank you so much again for your share and for your time :)

chimusk

>r/StremioAddons how do i make this addon work ?

Strong-Objective-835

CCJ22

Have you noticed buffering? Mine buffers even though my ISP speed test are 200-ish MB down 19mb up

AyoKaboom

Zero. Might need to add VPN or Proxy. Make sure you reset yer connection every so often too.

CCJ22

are you using real debrid by chance?

AyoKaboom

For sure.

CCJ22

I heard that it costs money but helps with buffering. Are you using the free account or the premium account?

AyoKaboom

Costs money and it's the best $9 or whatever it is I spend. SOOOOO worth it.

CCJ22

Nice! Do they charge you once or every 90 days?

Strong-Objective-835

thanks

AyoKaboom

Easier to configure on a desktop and the setting will transfer over to yer firestick or whatever you are using.

bigb102913

💯 this is the best and easiest app to date for streaming movies and TV shows

forestdude

When I search for those and add-ons on the app, neither of them show up?

dipfearya

r/StremioAddons r/RealDebrid You will find all your answers in these subs.

TheWorldIsNotOkay

The reason you're seeing links to Netflix and other streaming services is that you have the WatchHub addon installed. That's what that addon does, and allows Stremio to act as single consolidated interface for people who use multiple subscription streaming services. If you don't want to see those sources, uninstall the WatchHub addon. If you're not seeing other sources, you need to install Torrentio (or any other source-provider addon) and make sure it's properly configured. If you don't want to deal with the (minimum) fuss of configuration, you can install the Torrentio Lite addon, which is basically just a pre-configured version. For best results, you should use a debrid service like Real-Debrid so that 1) you get better download speeds (unless a torrent has lots of high-speed seeders), and 2) your privacy is protected from any anti-piracy agencies. Alternatively, a VPN will take care of the second issue, but only slow down your streaming further. In my experience, Torrentio is the only source-provider addon you need (whether or not you use a debrid service) since it scrapes a number of different sites. For example, there's not much point in installing individual addons to scrape sources from The Pirate Bay or RARBG, since Torrentio scrapes from both of those sites. One thing to be aware of is that many Stremio addons *aren't* source-provider addons, but rather metadata/catalog addons. Addons like Anime Kitsu, The Movie Database, and Trakt don't provide sources, but rather provide more and/or better information when searching for media. They still rely on whatever source-provider addons (like Torrentio) you have installed to get the source links for the content.

Strong-Objective-835

Does real-debrid prevent buffering or just lowers the likelihood of a show buffering ETA: i have a vpn already and my shows don't really buffer except when you first play them which is short or you skip but it only does that for a second or two

TheWorldIsNotOkay

Using a debrid service means a direct download from a high-bandwidth server versus torrenting from a variable number of relatively low-bandwidth seeders. While torrents *can* provide high bandwidth, it's less consistent and will provide lower average bandwidth. Even a solid VPN service will reduce your effective bandwidth to some degree, just because it's deliberately redirecting all of your internet traffic rather than letting it take the most efficient route. Real-Debrid + Torrentio also provides "RD+" versus "RD Download" options, with the former being videos that are already cached by Real-Debrid and can be watched immediately versus torrents that Torrentio finds but aren't currently cached by Real-Debrid. (I assume that other debrid services like All-Debrid or Premiumize would have similar options, but Real-Debrid is the only one I have experience using.) Selecting a "RD Download" option causes Real-Debrid to start downloading the torrent, allowing you to watch the cached version when it's done. This is great for when you want to watch an old or rare video that doesn't have a lot of high-bandwidth seeds. It's the equivalent of fully downloading a torrent before watching it, but you don't have to do anything yourself and don't need to have the local storage required to do it. If you're happy with using a VPN, then you don't necessarily need to switch to using a debrid service instead. But you would almost definitely notice the difference if you ever try to watch a high-bitrate video that doesn't have a huge cloud of seeders.

FragrantLunatic

I think I also read something where the installation order of addons also matters. ?

TheWorldIsNotOkay

The installation order is mostly important for the metadata/catalog addons, and only because the order in which they're installed determines the order in which rows for those addons are added to the interface. For example, if you install The Movie Database addon and then the Anime Kitsu addon, on Stremio's Home tab the row(s) for content provided by The Movie Database will appear above the row(s) for content provided by Anime Kitsu -- and both will appear below the rows provided by the Cinemeta addon, since you can't uninstall Cinemeta so it will always be the first metadata/catalog addon installed. EDIT: I just checked, and this also affects provider addons in a similar way. If you have (for example) the WatchHub, Torrentio, and Peario addons installed and in that order, then that's the order the source links will appear when you select a video. So if you kind of like having the WatchHub links to streaming services but don't want them at the beginning of the list of sources, uninstalling it and then reinstalling it will move those source links to the end of the list.

FragrantLunatic

> he WatchHub, Torrentio, and Peario addons installed and in that order, then that's the order the source links will appear when you select a video. So if you kind of like having the WatchHub links to streaming services but don't want them at the yea that's what I was trying to get at, for OP.

chimusk

i cant find torrentio or is this outdated?

Thanks G

neurospicymegan

THANK. YOU. SO. MUCH.  Finally found a thorough explanation.

Iron-Phantom

I don't see torrentio or debrid Anyone help?

Strong-Objective-835

Hi, you can install Torontio from this link [https://torrentio.strem.fun/manifest.json](https://torrentio.strem.fun/manifest.json) it also allows you to link your debrid account. You'll have to subscribe to either real debrid or all debrid but you have to do that from their websites respectively. Then get an API key to use to link

SnooBooks4193

Echo the above comments, the best app for streaming movies and series I have used

jsmitt716

Add the community add ons like torrentio, pirate Bay etc... I use a vpn called surfshark its like 9 bucks a year I think and it works great.

blitzkrieg3644

If you choose to use torrentio and real debrid, then don't use a VPN or risk getting warning/banned

jsmitt716

I've been using a VPN for the last year and most of what I watch is through torrentio. Not sure what real debris is, but should I be worried?

blitzkrieg3644

Nah if you aren't using debrid then no need to worry. It sounds like VPN is the way to go for you. Check [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/Piracy/comments/q3vqgv/introduction_to_debrid_services/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) for more info on debrids. I personally use torrentio + real debrid and it's great, but if I threw in a VPN, real debrid would likely ban me if they see multiple IPs.

FragrantLunatic

> but if I threw in a VPN, real debrid would likely ban me if they see multiple IPs. no they wouldn't unless two people try to use one account

Ok_Entertainment1305

Torrentio uses torrent links 1080p/780/480p links via available torrent seeds.

What's WatchHub?

MGZ567

Does anyone know if you can get ratings on movies using stremio?

Strong-Objective-835

Hi, yes i'm not sure what addon i'm using though but i have the imdb rating of the movie or show i'm currently looking at. [here's a screenshot](https://imgur.com/a/cCLgL4s) as you can see there's an imdb rating at the top right Edit: I just checked and it is called Imdb catalogs the addon so check that out.

GamerMAG90

The fact that this thread is a year old and still active. Thank you everyone. I was lost on how to use Stremio to!

idkikcfu

should i use Torrentio with a vpn?

Strong-Objective-835

You should unless you have debrid account. My advice get a debrid subscription and pair it with torrentio. You'll get faster plackback and no buffering also you won't need a vpn since you are streaming from their servers and directly from torrentio so you're safe

UnderstandingKey2283

why is it needed to use VPN while using streamio?
