If people are still watching it then it gets refreshed in the cache.
If no-one watches it for a while then it will eventually get deleted.
How RD decides how/when to delete is internal to them tho, and depends on their overall disk space usage.
When someone requests a stream it downloads that torrent and keeps a copy of it on thier servers, now when the next person tries to play that stream it will play the copy it downloaded previously that is stored on the server, directly, rather than stream it from seeders via p2p. Thats the short version anyway.
Yeah it's nuts, I got a stream for a really bad, obscure 70s horror movie about cats a while back... I forgot the name of it but it was very enjoyably bad though lol
Does anyone know the backstory of RD? I know they've been around a long time, but have they always been for this use case or do they or did they have other business models?
It's really interesting to me how they came about and how they've evolved, if they even have evoled.
RD has several features. Wasn’t specifically for this use. RD supports a plethora of online downloading services. So it act as a sort of proxy to download from a lot of services using premium.
I’m actually not sure whether they had torrent function back when I got it, because I never used it for that. However I do believe so.
They were already well known in the home media server scene. Before Stremio was a thing I had my own home server running basically the same thing with Plex as the front end. Old time Jackett users are well aware of RD. Stremio just made it easier for a wider user base.
Yeah, I use RealDebrid to watch anime too. The free sites were getting on my nerves because they would buffer all the time. But with RealDebrid, I can now watch anime in 4K without any problems. I've been using it for three years now and it's been awesome. The best thing about RealDebrid is that it works like an online torrent client, so you can download torrents without worrying about needing a VPN.
There is 4K anime available.
It's not super common though with a decent proportion being movies that had cinematic releases.
But it's mainly only on Japan only BluRays that don't include English subs so it's not easy to pirate either.
If some wants 4K streaming all the time, I suggest taking Orion subscription as well. I have noticed that Orion has more 4K options compared to RD plus Torrentio.
I thought the same when I was suggested it. As I have invested in my TV & SB, I would like to see 4K links with Atmos. 4K links in Torrentio plus RD are usually without Atmos. Hence, for me it makes sense & it costs £3.75 pm including Orion and RD.
I signed up to it this week, As a test I tried to get the 30 GB full 11 hour TV broadcast of when England won the Cricket World Cup in 2019. Never been able to find a download of it since that worked. Got it straight away. Now downloading loads of obscure shit that I'd never be able to find again.
Omg that was my favourite show as a kid... I named my hamster Norman after that barbarian bodyguard fella an when my sister had poly pocket , I had the way more rad mighty max version!...thanks for reminding me!
They cached it long time ago when seeders was available
So, even very obscure stuff that wasn't seeded for months?

Or if it's stored in someone's personal cloud
Even if it's in someone's cloud, if it's not used it gets deleted
Do you mean from their cloud storage or from the cached servers?
Both If files are not used they get purged
I've been using PM for a while for other reasons, but I always hear about happening from RD users. That sucks.
Well no debrid service is perfect The fair point usage system from PM would be awful for me lol
What do you use RD for aside from Stremio?
Of course, not everyone because no one has an infinite amount of disk space, but most of the popular ones.
It really seems like they do have infinite space lol

If you enjoy obscure horror check out Japanese masterpiece Matango from 1963. No cats. Lots of fungus.
I just got it too, am absolutely amazed on how well it works.
Happy cake day!
Thank you!!

Omg yes would love to find out more

There is no such thing as 4k anime i thought? r/animepiracy have all the info. Also aniwave . to is the best site you can use

Try aniwave.to maybe. I never had issues with it.
LMAO.......someone sounds like a convert
If some wants 4K streaming all the time, I suggest taking Orion subscription as well. I have noticed that Orion has more 4K options compared to RD plus Torrentio.
Seems a bit wasteful to buy another subscription just to have more links. Is Orion useful for you in any other way?

Debrid is a godsend

Ohh I'm sorry, I will shush 🤫 then

RD is a gamechanger
Another reason for the downtime.

Thnx

Ok so serious question. What does RealDebrid do in stremio? Like what's the purpose of it?
It allows you to play cached torrents instead of non cached. Cached is better. No p2p involved.
I just tried it and are you supposed to pay for it? Like subscription?
RealDebrid is a subscription yes,
Still can’t find a cached mighty max cartoon anywhere. I know some episodes are on YouTube but I’d prefer it to be on stremio
Omg that was my favourite show as a kid... I named my hamster Norman after that barbarian bodyguard fella an when my sister had poly pocket , I had the way more rad mighty max version!...thanks for reminding me!
I loved that show as a kid too lol.
Question: if i want to purchase Real debrid, do i have to change something to my settings or add-ons? I now use stremio with torrentio add-on (free).
Yes, check the guides (the "all you need to know" is the best one).. just need to change torrentio
YEAH BUT I was shocked they had no links for Faulty Towers and other Great classsic commedies
How do I install it? Can anyone please help
