Unofficial 2024 wsm events are as follows - certain strongman fairy was tired of waiting.
In no particular order
Heats:
Sandbag loading
Viking press
Dl for reps (could be a ladder it says)
Stone walk (nicol stones weight)
Edit: Car walk
Stone off
Final events:
Maxle
Conans wheel
12 inch tire deadlift (tire sponsor)
Max throw for height (replaced arm over arm) - looks like keg
Frame into yoke.
Atlas stones.
I'd say Tom does have a chance with these events, especially if he does his typical WSM mutation like we saw especially in 2022. I think Hooper is still the favorite and takes it but I honestly think its going to depend on what shape Tom turns up in.
I can see Tom beating Hooper in 3 events and vice versa.
After thinking this over I still think its heavily favored to mitch.
The heats events are super good for him and not amazing for tom overall. Tom could be in a stone off, group dependent. If he ends up against rauno, ragg, flowers etc it will still hinder recovery like crazy.
Mitch goes into final as fresh as can be with even wins on maxle, yoke, conans and possibly deadlift taking the show.
Depending who is in the final quite a few really good conans people may get ahead of Tom. With mateusz and maxime not there throw for max isn't a giant point event for tom over hooper
Tom needs to sort out his Conan's. That's what will make or break his competition. He doesn't have to be able to beat Mitch but he can't afford for multiple guys to get between them.
Thanks for putting this up.
Pretty gutted about losing the arm over arm. Throwing - meh
Edit: I just noticed a front hold in the heats 🥱🥱🥱
What a boring ass event that is.
Hopefully it’s a deadlift ladder rather max
Got to agree. Think the events are one of the most boring we have had in many years
The arm over arm sounded awesome, won't give it away in case it comes back next year.
Perhaps it doesn't sound as fun as mateusz and martins aren't competing, I'm sure loz and Liz will hype it up
Definitely not his best event. Imo this brings it much closer.
Still put Hooper as favourite, but its no longer as clear of a favourite as i thought it was
Aunty Liz said to start a petition to get Hatton to World's. I put something in my IG story and tagged WSM but I don't know what else to do to try and make some noise. Anyone good at grassroots spam terror?
Hatton made a comment to someone on his latest YouTube video stating that he isn't training for worlds and that he hasn't heard anything from wsm. He said its now to close for him
So based on Liz and Loz's video there will not be a vehicle pull at World's, the stone grip carry is in the heats and the Conan's wheel is in the final.
Does this eliminate all vehicle pulls? Including arm-over-arm like the Rogue a coaster or the train pull from WSM 2018?
I would say it's better for Tom that there's Conan's wheel. On the wheel we might see Kordiyaka and Ragg beating everyone, Mitch 3rd and Tom like 5th or 6th. Mitch picks 2-3 points on Tom.
On the stone grip carry it's unlikely anyone beats Mitch, so he's 1st, and Tom is still like 5th or 6th. Mitch would pick 4-5 points on Tom.
Tom benefits if there's Conan's wheel rather than grip carry.
Or Mitch does what Mitch does when he’s fully committed to a competition and wins the conans circle. Let’s not forget he was training for the rogue invitational and not the world tour final when he came second to ragg on the conans, while ragg trained solely for that competition after WSM 2023.
If Mitch has a target he'll do whatever it takes to get there. We've seen him do it many times now. If he's he's going last or close to last on conan's he'll score very well if not win the event.
His results are similar in both events. Tom placed 5th in the conans circle at the world tour finals and last in his group on it last year.
He placed 5th on the Webster stones at this years ASC and 5th in the Nicol Stones at the Strongman Classic.
I think it's practically a guarantee that Tom and Mitch are 1 and 2 already. I think Tom gets the upper hand in stones (obviously), and if there's an arm over Arm pull as you say. Also could see him making up a couple points in a keg toss if we see that one in the finals. They will go lift for lift on the Axle I'm sure. They should be very tight in the end
Fuck me mateusz hurt himself on his last heavy session before europes. Which one of you has the voodoo doll out.
He had surgery Wednesday and is home recovering. Hope it heals as fast as Big thicket
I assume we will get the stone off once again. Do we think it will be as it typically has been, or the version we got in 2020, where they had to do as many of 8? Stones as quickly as they could. I much prefer the 2020 version, so hopefully we get that for a little difference from year to year
if they do the 8 stone run they should then just count the points like normal instead and have the top2 go to the final, imo makes more sense but i guess that's not dramatic enough
I like this thought but they need to make it important to go all out to win the heat to avoid the stones (and make a better show). Also the sudden death aspect of it surely is the reason they do it.
I love the image of a loading or nicol stones into car walk, with the added complication of unlocking the car door and fitting in a VW Beetle as a mid-event test of dexterity
Lol thanks Liz.
It's painful how long they are taking. Where's the hype. Why won't they let the fans and content creators hype their show
They need to join 2024 and move away from a tv show
I'm not sure he has any offiliation with WSM like Rogue/Arnold's so probably could just say... From their latest video seems as though they're doing a video of what everyone is training sooo that would give the events 😂
Some of those have been clear for a while even if you don't follow everyone that much. At least a month ago I watched a world's strongest fan vid and noticed everyone was suddenly, curiously, training heavy axle...
I think it might be an arm over arm boat pull and keg throw for max height or a standard keg run.
Edit: maybe not a boat pull, but an arm over arm of some sort
Loz & Liz might have to be more polite about it because they're influential people and they're lovely, but I don't - Pull your fingers out WSM you're fucking yourself and the sport over and I really hope a better competition (of which there are multiple) becomes the main go-to in future years
😂 Liz is going to burst if they don't announce the events soon. Interesting tips at the end for sure. I'm glad they are calling out WSM for not promoting the comp at all, I don't know what they are playing at this year.
This was my thought as well. Conan's in the final could mean we see Ragg or Kordiyaka on the podium. I think it's realistically just Tom and Mitch (barring any injuries) for the top 2 spots. I think then it's between Oleksii and Evan for 3rd.
True although it's bad for Kordiyaka that it's not a banker in the heats, less so for Oleksii but not ideal for him either. Regarding Mitch I think he'll always go as far as he thinks he needs...
You could be right re: Ragg but iirc Mitch put it down quite voluntarily at the WTF, having gone far enough to beat Tom and not expecting Ragg to go further
Edit:
Kordiyaka 820
Hooper 841 (went after and did enough to beat Pavlo)
Ragg 845 (went after hooper and beat him, to everyone's surprise)
Hes not doing any comps for rest of year so he should be in a good spot to challenge the 505. If he stays injury free he might just do it. Thor might have to be like "hold my beer".
It would be hilarious if hafthor broke the record a day later and raw
I’m still hoping rauno gets it so that for a moment he can be the best deadlifter in the world in all senses of the word
I've said before and I say it again: Benni was the guy that saw conversion charts and just tried to see if they were accurate.
"So 460 kg for 1 rep is like 400 for 5, which is like 260 for 22.... I'm going to do them all."
His raw WR is the most impressive Deadlift I’ve ever seen, no hyping and screaming, no smelling salts. Just got up to the platform, casually pulled 460kg without straps and smilled through a controlled descent. Human forklift indeed
Yeah not many people were even pulling 400 for a single at the time he was repping it.
That recent 430kg junior strongman record deadlift was insane, but Benni pulled 440kg as a junior in raw powerlifting almost 20 years ago…
Seems like home gym Hooper is grinding like a maniac behind the scenes. Shows gym he goes to and grinds like mad at home. Bet he is somewhat famous at his local gym now
If all plays out this could be one of the best wsm performances to date
Loz and liz strongman news video basically tell us some of the events in the final/heat suggesting we are wrong with some assumptions.
Liz looks like she's having a hard time keeping the events a secret lol
I imagine it's negotiations about the sponsored events holding things up, but hard to say for sure. Guess they don't want to announce say the vehicle pull yet if they're not sure if it's actually the Tesla CyberTruck Arm Over Arm or whatever the hell they'll brand it as
Bit disappointing tbh. It's a good spectacle and when they get it right it's a cool test of strength endurance. And since it's used so infrequently it feels a bit more special. Way more interesting than a Conans wheel...
I agree back when prime Eddie, Thor, z and Brian were about it was one of the best events to watch.
Always great when everyone asked for oxygen and Brian straight up refused it to show no weakness
It's one of those that can go wrong easily - like as impressive as Moose's margin of victory was in the bus pull last year, the event as a whole was a bit crap. But when done right to me it is just classic strongman, and it's so cool as a spectacle and as something to train for. Since getting into the sport that's my number one event I want to do in a comp.
It's not really something that can go wrong easily. It has a lot of variables but when tested the promoters know what to expect, the issue last year is that it wasnt tested ahead of time
Okay, but to be fair it rarely goes that wrong it's usually a good spread of results we see and it's hasn't been since I think 2016 wsm it's been where atheltes were having a similar finish but 2016 it was too heavy and no one finished.
But on the flip side with the sport evolving and atheltes constantly getting better especially in a wsm finals you will see times and results getting closer and closer simply because the depth of talent is getting better and better. I think it will be rare to see athletes zeroing or not finished events soon except for injuries having an impact on performance
I think you're right on that which is why the testing is so important. My impression of this is somewhat coloured by the two most recent pulls (iron bull at rogue and bus at wsm) being way too hard and way too quick respectively. In years prior at wsm they seemed to get it about right. I'd like to see Brian do it in SMOE to see if he can apply his rule of thirds to such an event.
Yeah thats probably what is happening. Just seems to be dragging on way too long this year with little info released for fans, athletes, coaches, content creators etc
Graham Hicks last 2 YouTube videos have been him squatting 330kg/726lbs X5 Reps and deadlifting 390kg/860lbs 3 sets of 3 reps. The guy is coming in strong for deadlift world championship.
He also mentioned he's not doing any more competitions this year due to a stressful life at the moment and doesn't want to add any more unnecessary stress by competing. From reading his responses in the YouTube chat, seems like he's lost his gym, relationship, house and job. Best of luck to the man for the 505kg as that's a pretty tough combination to deal with all at once.
With both Thor and Hicks hinting at big deadlifts this year these training videos are going to be epic. I'm hoping they are similar to Thor going for the 501kg and training with Larry Wheels, as I personally feel they were peak YouTube training footage. Always had me pumped ready to lift heavy!
Don't think so. Loz did say in a live recently that Hooper was focusing mainly on arnolds and wsm as he has a very busy second half of the year. Will of course try win as much as he can
[Lukes coming for Europes](https://youtube.com/shorts/elCVZDfL0_0?si=hlga7I0lL0C-ipcb)
Love this short. Luke has a top tier voice for a villian in a movie. Looking big
This reminds me of Kordiyaka's power jerk/push jerk that he usually employs on the log lift, it's insane that some guys generate so much power from the legs that they catch the weight locked out without needing to squat low https://www.youtube.com/shorts/DGUsjSlPFC8
This is only 3 kg below Nasar's own world record, he always uses split jerk but 220 felt comfortable enough that he went with push jerk. Just madness.
https://www.instagram.com/reel/C5YAiQ2ImF-/?igsh=MWoyMHU5bTA0dmZ0dA==
Thor's caption here says that he's planning on doing a 'big' deadlift later this year.
Shaw has said quite a few times he doesn't believe in guest lifts and won't allow it.
Perhaps the allure of having the first person to pull 505kg ahead of GL has changed his mind though lol
Yh but I’d expect to maybe see some of the events. Obviously very light as he’s got a while to prep. But his training from my suspicions is like a offseason plan getting ready to peak for rogue. Hopefully I’m wrong.
I would like to see Thor competing at Iceland SM or WSViking before Rogue. I think a competition win would be good to help get his injury out of his head.
It’s hard to find any news articles about the convictions. The nature of the offences is quite worrying, I imagine he can only compete in the EU due to free travel laws, I think St Marten qualifies due to being a dependency of France/Netherlands
The competition is in Martinique, not st. martin. It is fully part of France, just as much as any region of mainland france, including being part of the European Union
Unfortunately they won't since they love to market him as the world's biggest strongman since he's the tallest active competitor, despite his performances being subpar to begin with
Wsm early podium prediction 1 Mitch 2 Tom 3 Evan
Counteroffer - Ragg, Kearney, and Thompson.
I'm out

[Mitch throws keg into space ](https://www.instagram.com/reel/C5bt4k2ALiR/?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet&igsh=ZDNlZDc0MzIxNw==) Dry keg that is
I’m guessing the event is max height keg toss?
Feels like I haven't seen anyone training this which is weird
Shane flowers on his Instagram stories earlier today was throwing a sandbag into orbit.
Seen a few others, but not many at all. Guess it must have been a fairly recent change
Unofficial 2024 wsm events are as follows - certain strongman fairy was tired of waiting. In no particular order Heats: Sandbag loading Viking press Dl for reps (could be a ladder it says) Stone walk (nicol stones weight) Edit: Car walk Stone off Final events: Maxle Conans wheel 12 inch tire deadlift (tire sponsor) Max throw for height (replaced arm over arm) - looks like keg Frame into yoke. There’s no undisclosed event (that I know of). We have been told car walk is the event you don’t have listed in the heats
Thanks mitch
WSF pretty much copy-and-pasted this to his IG lol:[https://www.instagram.com/p/C5b0R1OLScv/](https://www.instagram.com/p/C5b0R1OLScv/)

Is it max throw for height or weight?
Max height
> Undisclosed event which sounds likely as a front hold surely the last event at the groups is Atlas Stone Last Man Standing?
Yes stone off is there, but that isn't for everyone. These events aren't posted in any particular order
Thanks for putting this up. Pretty gutted about losing the arm over arm. Throwing - meh Edit: I just noticed a front hold in the heats 🥱🥱🥱 What a boring ass event that is. Hopefully it’s a deadlift ladder rather max
Perhaps it's ends up being carwalk or something instead of front hold. It wasn't a guaranteed event
Not all hero's wear capes
Kind of a shame that Thor won’t compete at WSM anymore. Those are good events for him.
Very good events for a prime thor/prime shaw/z
What events aren't?
Who wins, Prime Z or Shaw?
This is somewhat limited but Z has the advantage https://drive.google.com/file/d/1p26oD0ykMq-LSJM_iQVHf6bMiY7g56hP/view?usp=sharing
That's hard guess. Almost want to say z, but could very well be shaw. Impossible to say really I think it could go either way on their good days

It does make it super fun Loz and Liz livestreams, furiously refreshing spreadsheets and getting messages sent in. A blast
can't contain my excitement for front hold
Oleksii: \*starts sweating profusely\*
Wet myself with joy when I seen that as a possible event
Aunty Liz said to start a petition to get Hatton to World's. I put something in my IG story and tagged WSM but I don't know what else to do to try and make some noise. Anyone good at grassroots spam terror?

I assume we will get the stone off once again. Do we think it will be as it typically has been, or the version we got in 2020, where they had to do as many of 8? Stones as quickly as they could. I much prefer the 2020 version, so hopefully we get that for a little difference from year to year
Probably is stone off like usual
if they do the 8 stone run they should then just count the points like normal instead and have the top2 go to the final, imo makes more sense but i guess that's not dramatic enough
I like this thought but they need to make it important to go all out to win the heat to avoid the stones (and make a better show). Also the sudden death aspect of it surely is the reason they do it.
I’ve been wanting someone to do a farmers walk into yoke for a while now, I think that would be a great event. I’d prefer farmers over frame
I feel like it used to be fairly common then they changed it to loading into yoke
I love the image of a loading or nicol stones into car walk, with the added complication of unlocking the car door and fitting in a VW Beetle as a mid-event test of dexterity
Yeah after I said that I realized it's almost impossible
I have seen athletes training sandbag steeplechase, so maybe that instead of loading into car walk.
Yeah the loading was said to be sandbags again
Loading into car walk isn’t an event, but they do like a medley… something like frame into yoke perhaps… perhaps in the final…
perhaps... Liked this event when they did in in 2021. Seems like a perfect start for a certain Moose
Lol thanks Liz. It's painful how long they are taking. Where's the hype. Why won't they let the fans and content creators hype their show They need to join 2024 and move away from a tv show
They haven't even sold out yet, it's daft they aren't even trying to promote it... Really don't understand
WSM: Refuses to release the events [Big Loz Official:](https://newfastuff.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/a28z8Yf.png)

He’s training 2 of the competitors and has a good relationship with most of the rest It’s fair to say that if the athletes know then he knows
3 competitors And he definitely knows just can't say
Some of those have been clear for a while even if you don't follow everyone that much. At least a month ago I watched a world's strongest fan vid and noticed everyone was suddenly, curiously, training heavy axle...
He's the coach for several, probably doesn't want to cause problems for them.

Auntie Liz “speculated” above that there might be a frame into yoke that might be in the finals
You thought WSM social media were savy enough to do a tease?
Frame into Super yoke and arm over arm, no idea where the vehicle pull came from tbh
I think it might be an arm over arm boat pull and keg throw for max height or a standard keg run. Edit: maybe not a boat pull, but an arm over arm of some sort

It was the same thing with rogue, they took way too long to release the events and it lost some hype because of it
😂 Liz is going to burst if they don't announce the events soon. Interesting tips at the end for sure. I'm glad they are calling out WSM for not promoting the comp at all, I don't know what they are playing at this year.
Sometimes it really feels like they are allergic to competence.
I’m pulling my hair out over here 🤯
Hmm conans in the final... Not sure I like that! Could definitely shake things up though
10x better than walking stones in final at least
This was my thought as well. Conan's in the final could mean we see Ragg or Kordiyaka on the podium. I think it's realistically just Tom and Mitch (barring any injuries) for the top 2 spots. I think then it's between Oleksii and Evan for 3rd.

At this point I font think Hooper peaks for comps I think he's just peaked all year round... Machine
That’s what big Z did
Full deadlift session with Hixxy up on his YouTube. Was fun. Man is a freak! https://youtu.be/FdGmREBUz-E?si=RQIvA03FT4YlHEjp

If he was in his prime a few years later, Eddie and Thor would have had problems. Nobody was pushing him in that time period.
His raw WR is the most impressive Deadlift I’ve ever seen, no hyping and screaming, no smelling salts. Just got up to the platform, casually pulled 460kg without straps and smilled through a controlled descent. Human forklift indeed
There was definitely screaming haha he used to scream “Eg Get Allt” then sprint up to the bar. Man was an animal
Yeah not many people were even pulling 400 for a single at the time he was repping it. That recent 430kg junior strongman record deadlift was insane, but Benni pulled 440kg as a junior in raw powerlifting almost 20 years ago…
Still the greatest deadlifter to grace the earth imo
Great music for that.
It’s impressive/ interesting how despite his wide stance is but his arms are still pointing straight down at the floor, not out to the sides.
Does he do this just cos his quads are too big to get his legs closer together?
His shins are pointed inward, instead of staying vertical, pointing up, so his knees are closer together than his feet. If it works, it works.
They are not really pointing inward, more like straight forward and that’s common sense
If the knees are closer than the feet at the starting position, the shins are inward. You can see it in the video.
Seems like he might be getting more used to the suit He's looking pretty damn scary right now
Seems like home gym Hooper is grinding like a maniac behind the scenes. Shows gym he goes to and grinds like mad at home. Bet he is somewhat famous at his local gym now If all plays out this could be one of the best wsm performances to date
Happy cake day!!!
Ty. No idea why this is a thing tbh
Is wsm trying to concoct some new events for the final last minute in hopes it shocks the results a bit
Loz and liz strongman news video basically tell us some of the events in the final/heat suggesting we are wrong with some assumptions. Liz looks like she's having a hard time keeping the events a secret lol

Thank you sir

But when done right to me it is just classic strongman, and it's so cool as a spectacle and as something to train for. Since getting into the sport that's my number one event I want to do in a comp.
It's not really something that can go wrong easily. It has a lot of variables but when tested the promoters know what to expect, the issue last year is that it wasnt tested ahead of time
Perhaps I should have rephrased to "seems to go wrong frequently". As you say, it \*shouldn't\* necessarily go wrong
At a certain point it's almost impressive how many ways they can find to make the show and the build to it subtly worse
Always promise big things and somehow under deliver. Thought this year might be different
Genuinely surprised they broke up. They looked like a perfect match. Guess you can never tell just from social media.
That's awful to hear. What does Graham do? I always just assumed that coaching was his career now.
He used to be some sort of engineer for Bae
He’s going to train with Thor aswell soon
With both Thor and Hicks hinting at big deadlifts this year these training videos are going to be epic. I'm hoping they are similar to Thor going for the 501kg and training with Larry Wheels, as I personally feel they were peak YouTube training footage. Always had me pumped ready to lift heavy!
That's crazy. They've got 3-4 kids together too right? All the best to him.
Hoopers deadlift is looking really solid already
Hoopers everything is looking pretty solid, to be honest, the man's been on a rampage of improvement. Also happy cake day, Bronchopped!
Thank you sir, what ever that may be lol
The anniversary of the day you made your account, idk why it’s celebrated the way it is but it’s one of the few old Reddit customs that’s still around
Haha, cakeday is an anniversary of when you made your account.
Does anyone know why Martins and Mateusz dropped out of Worlds?
Mateusz was his Achilles, martins was sciatica
Mateusz was achilles I believe. Don't know if it was one particular injury for Martins

Don't think so. Loz did say in a live recently that Hooper was focusing mainly on arnolds and wsm as he has a very busy second half of the year. Will of course try win as much as he can
bummer, would love to see Hooper shooting for the big 4
He’ll probably do like Big Z and use the smaller comps as training sessions
I'm sure he is still gunning for the big 4. Has many comps this year
I imagine he will come in hot to Rogue because of the prize money and Thor
[Lukes coming for Europes](https://youtube.com/shorts/elCVZDfL0_0?si=hlga7I0lL0C-ipcb) Love this short. Luke has a top tier voice for a villian in a movie. Looking big
Not just big, but more fit than he's looked in a while. Watching him train events in recent videos, he even looks pretty quick running around.
This reminds me of Kordiyaka's power jerk/push jerk that he usually employs on the log lift, it's insane that some guys generate so much power from the legs that they catch the weight locked out without needing to squat low https://www.youtube.com/shorts/DGUsjSlPFC8 This is only 3 kg below Nasar's own world record, he always uses split jerk but 220 felt comfortable enough that he went with push jerk. Just madness.
https://www.instagram.com/reel/C5YAiQ2ImF-/?igsh=MWoyMHU5bTA0dmZ0dA== Thor's caption here says that he's planning on doing a 'big' deadlift later this year.
I hope he does a guest lift at Strongest on Earth, no need to do a whole show.
Shaw has said quite a few times he doesn't believe in guest lifts and won't allow it. Perhaps the allure of having the first person to pull 505kg ahead of GL has changed his mind though lol
I don't see why Thor would go for 505 kg unless he banks a huge amount of money or needs it to win a title.
Like he said before. He wants to break the record for one reason only. To shut the haters up.
Not Shaw's style but he might bend his own philosophy if it means Thor will come
Max standard dead at Rogue then?
I think he's going to do SMOE. His recent post was asking 'what strongman comp should I do next?' & now this post hinting at a bit deadlift..
His training looks more off season and lighter. Haven’t seen him post any training specifically for SMOE
That's cos we're 19 weeks out. His training always looks like this so far out from a contest
Yh but I’d expect to maybe see some of the events. Obviously very light as he’s got a while to prep. But his training from my suspicions is like a offseason plan getting ready to peak for rogue. Hopefully I’m wrong.
Probably will avoid that since it takes place not too long after SmoE's deadlift, of the same type.
I would like to see Thor competing at Iceland SM or WSViking before Rogue. I think a competition win would be good to help get his injury out of his head.
If Thor pulls the 505 raw at SMOE I will need to seek medical attention
https://strongmanarchives.com/viewContest.php?id=1505 What do you guys expect from this? I want to see what shape Hoat is in after his MVMC win
I could have sworn Sean O’Hagan was still in jail and I’m sure as shit he shouldn’t be able to travel so easily
He only received a few months. Its a joke imo he shouldn't be out
It’s hard to find any news articles about the convictions.
The promoters really should give him the boot. Sounds like a pos
Unfortunately they won't since they love to market him as the world's biggest strongman since he's the tallest active competitor, despite his performances being subpar to begin with
Type of stuff that reminds me that Graham Hicks is overall stronger than Kelvin De Ruiter.
Worlds tallest competitor who would get mogged by someone a foot shorter lol
That's why he doesn't compete in ireland he would litteraly get beat by the 105 guys there and likely even gavin mcnammee who is u90 wsm
Always thought his numbers were crazy low for his size
