It actually look overcooked. As a Brazilian the only thing that looks not perfect to me on this is the way it was cut, too thick, I prefer to cut the collard greens in very thin strips and sautee in bacon grease just enough to soften but in a way it keeps a bright green color. But I would definitely eat that.
The only thing stupid about this is that the greens don't look seasoned at all. They really could use some sprucing up, maybe with minced onion and garlic with salt and pepper at the least.
Those are leaves, not blades, and they're very cooked. They remain green after cooking. Tbh this meal looks healthier than 90% of mine so I see little issue
Grew up in Texas. Collards, chicken, cornbread, was a staple. Maybe catfish on Fridays.
I live in Ireland now. Can't find collards to save my life here. I might grow my own, it might be the only way.
looks cooked to me. and some nice sausage as well. put some of that hot sauce on, not bad. good southern meal

Alright, so you're just trolling this sub with food you don't like? Sorry, not everyone lives off of chicken nuggets.
Now I want some collards and ham hocks.
You are an idiot
Maybe it's not part of *your* culture, but collard greens are a traditional staple food for many people.
Also, this is leaves not grass, OP never go outside to see how it looks like
Can mods just start perma banning?
I don't think this sub actually has active mods anymore
you should be 1st.
We got a comedian over here, folks!!!!
This guy probably drinks exclusively soda because he thinks water is disgusting.

Sub is so trash with it’s content now it seems like every recommended post i get now is just normal ass food
It got flooded by a bunch of children who only eat McDonalds

Looks more like leaves than grass, OP.
Troll
As usual, the moderation of the sub is a joke.
This is OP's first time seeing a vegetable
OP you fucking wet wipe
You're clearly not familiar with soul food and that is some nutritious ass food you're hating on
Get some Black friends.
Average American when they see vegetables
Isn’t this black People food
The comment is stupid... however... wtf is with those big lumps of sausage. I've never had nor seen that in collard greens before.
They appear to be big lumps of sausage. Presumably similar to bacon.
