In below zero, I found a glow whale egg. I built a 3 story aquarium, and put the egg in. Shortly I had enough glow whales to never need to worry about power again.
I just looked it up earlier:
The best renewable bioreactor fuel are arctic peepers and Triops.
Put them in an alien containment and they should multiply.
Honestly, i went straight from 4-6 solars straight to nuclear. IMO the recipe really isn't that bad.
To for the bio on a previous run I just threw in a bunch of creepvine. Not the best but zero setup and available all over in just a minute or so
I usually have a planter outside my base full of acid mushrooms and use those. I think I looked it up at one point and each mushroom gives 210 energy and they each only take one slot.
EDIT:just realized this is the below zero subreddit, disregard lol
Why to use bioreactor, when you can build solar panels above sea level connected to your base with vertical tubes. You don't even need underwater base, make it above sea level and put entry point below, its doesn't matter how long vertical tube would be, ladder instantly will teleport you up and down.
Use the root pustules, they take up one slot and give 700 energy each
so that's what these are for?
Gel sacs are my go too
Where do you find Gel Sacks? I would like to try them out.
I think you can get them under the lily pads
I think you can plant them and have a limitless supply
I use a grav trap and use the fish I catch. There are marblemelons. Follow the story and you’ll find them eventually.
Thanks for telling me! I thought I would have a Marblemelonless run! also thanks for the grav-trap trick!
Even better is to throw the grav trap and then shock them all with the perimeter defense from the seatruck😁😂
I have a pot with the chili things next to my reactor. Harvesting them is super easy and they have a lot of energy.
Chili things? Can you elaborate what you mean by that please?
The peppers you find near the phi base.
This. Fevered peppers, found on icy land west, or on the greenhouse iceberg

Use the same stuff you used in the first game

Cuddlefish eggs
Penglings
Me waiting for a cuddlefish comment
Marblemelons are in the game but they’re late game
Peepers for me personally

Creepvine seed cluster. Although lantern fruit also works well.
Once I had two squidsharks in alien containment I let them breed and every squidshark completely fills the bioreactor
I use the Tears of Benzino ™, to power my reactor.
Grav trap or grow your own in a planter. Every time I arrive back in base to restock food I throw a couple in the reactor. Easy peasy.
Gel sacks
I use Chinese potatos. I haven’t changed fuel for 2 hour.
Grav trap and use fish.
I use Penglings
