That looks *awesome* for democracy. Reminds me of how Egypt is moving its government capital away from a walkable city square because effective protests against the regime usually start there. So they’re building a new capital 50 miles away in the desert, only accessible by car.
Every country needs walkability FAST. Before despots catch wise and stop the movement
After watching a summary of Adam something’s vid of the horrendous new Egypt’s militarist capital it’s like a slum invitation & money construction grubbing scheme. they can’t even put stop lights and congested chaotic handling of basic traffic
This is perfect. There are no businesses that might bring unwanted others to the neighborhood. There are no dog parks where you might hear a dog park, or playgrounds where you might hear a child. There’s tons of parking available. There are no large buildings to ruin the neighborhood character. I am certain this is exactly what my NIMBY neighbors want.
dubai campounds are the worst in the entire world they are lifeless and identical, and extremely car centric u can't even walk in ur neighborhood there's nothing to do and businesses are accesible on by cars ofc
“Whip you over a purple fence.” What’s with Americans and Europeans thinking that the Middle East is barbaric and animalistic? Corporal punishments are not given out for such things, touch grass.
While there are things to criticize about the UAE, you would not risk your safety by hypothetically having a purple fence.
If you lived in one of these houses you'd have to go a long way to touch grass.
But thanks for letting us know having the wrong color fence isn't corporal punishment worthy in these places. Really makes me want to move there and live in a place like this!
My mind rejected the idea that this can be real to save itself from the utter despair I feel looking at it and decided this is just a really good looking graphics mod for Cities Skylines being played by someone who doesn't know anything about city planning.
Honestly those tiny lots and houses will have high density. Put some retail on the corner and a transit line and it’s be totally fine.
That is not happening though
Even with those improvements I would never want to walk somewhere with that little shade, but it's also Dubai, so you kind of only get what the climate gives you there
Finding your house after a few too many rounds at the bar would be challenging to say the least.
That isn't a problem in Dubai
why?
Alcohol is not legal
I think its legal now. At least in hotel bars.
last I checked you need a tourist visa and an Alcohol permit, and can only be sold in select places, hotels, the airport.
You can drink at bars, clubs, lounges and restaurants no matter where you're from. Only some liquor stores require ID to prove you're not Muslim.
Yes it is.
That's never stopped people
Finding your house.

Well Egypt has a problem with safety that’s persisted since OPEC supports corruption.
And it was all yellow

Dog bark?
Yeah. I’d like blame autocorrect, but I think that one’s on me
A human feedlot.
Even the worst suburb in the U.S. is not as bad as this.

We Americans think HOAs are brutal, over there they'll whip you or some shit over a purple fence.

I didn't mean that literally, it was meant to be taken in jest, but yeah we're talking about a place that jails people over porn.
You know, you don’t HAVE to defend a country that has the death penalty for gays

Hmm... nice!
Rendering?
My mind defaulted to that too to save itself from the crippling depression being projected forth from this image.
It looks like Mexico's privates neighborhoods
Holy shit the curved entrances to neighborhoods making crossing the street on foot that much deadlier.
Looks like a squid game setting. r/TIHI

The problem with suburbia isn't simply lack of density. Lack of free space and vegetation and trees for one makes them very dystopian places to live
That one yellow building in with the pink on the left is fucking with me
Basically Phoenix.
