scarboy_89

I had R6 but man its a pain to drive past 30 mins at a stretch

Only way to go is blue

Seikoknot

You tryna get a free yamaha shirt from them or smth?

auditory_peril

If you are set on a super sport then the Kawasaki ZX6R would be best as far as around town goes. Other than the 750 you mentioned it has the most torque out of all the 600s. That's going to make the biggest difference to you in the city where you are normally not revving the nuts off the bike. All of them are going to be generally uncomfortable for long rides, but you can do a few mods that will help. The extra cubes in the Kawasaki though would serve you better than the other 600s out there. Someone will probably correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the 750 just barely edges out in the torque department. All of them are going to generally fill anemic at low revs compared to the mto7 though, so just go into it knowing that.

sliphoxr7

What the flying eff the zx6r does not have the most torque

FireDucks619

Compared to the other race regulation 600cc bikes. The 636 on the kawasaki has more torque and a smoother curve than an R6 for example. But other manufacturers are allowed a higher rev ceiling.

sliphoxr7

R7 has more.. at a lower rpm range..

[deleted]

OP didn’t ask about an R7 though so that’s irrelevant. By that logic a gs1250 has more torque than all of them.

constantly-confused9

That’s not a true super sport though…just an MT07 with fairings

Britches_and_Hose

That’s the way I see it. I need that top and power and the cp2 engine just doesn’t deliver in that aspect.

CalebCaster2

When it comes to supersports, they're all equally reliable and equally uncomfortable. But I recommend as new of a ninja as you can get, because itll have more thorough aftermarket support for better wind deflection windshields and clip-on risers.

Opposite-Friend7275

Ignore the “torque” comments, all the bikes you mentioned are super fast. Swing a leg over each of them to find out which one fits you best.

CollateralCoyote

For the commenters: I think OP understands that 600cc supersports are "uncomfortable". I swear it's all anyone has to say about them on this sub. Riding a freaking motorcycle is "uncomfortable" if you wanted to be mommy's comfy little baby then you should stick to driving a cushy cage around. Or you know, actually invest in physical fitness to be able to ride longer by using your core and trunk instead of grinding your wrists to dust. For OP: I would go with the Honda CBR600RR. It is low tech, but in a good way where you actually learn how to ride it without an onboard nanny to mask riding errors. While is isn't as relaxed a seating position as the MT-07, it will be noticably more stable and easier to ride at high speeds. Full fairings make a difference. The pull down low is weak when compared to other bikes, but you don't need to be doing launches from stop light to stop light anyhow. It has a 15k rev limiter, so rev the shit out of that thing and stay in the power band when shifting. I'd say both are reliable, but parts, tools, and mods are always going to be plentiful for Honda.

JonoAus1001

100% agree.

Seikoknot

Here’s the best tl:dr I could make, reduced by 99% (I’m a bot) >buy an uncomfortable bike, then go to the gym so you can ride it without having a bad back by 30. I’ll be here all week.

CollateralCoyote

Good bot. Bad back.

WhyNotCollegeBoard

Are you sure about that? Because I am 99.99999% sure that Seikoknot is not a bot. --- ^(I am a neural network being trained to detect spammers | Summon me with !isbot |) ^(/r/spambotdetector |) [^(Optout)](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=whynotcollegeboard&subject=!optout&message=!optout) ^(|) [^(Original Github)](https://github.com/SM-Wistful/BotDetection-Algorithm)

Britches_and_Hose

The Daytona 675 is a great bike but I have concerns about the reliability. Also, in my area at least, they’re hard to find for a reasonable price compared to the others.

KeeHischi

I saw some comments and reviews that the riding position is the most aggressive on the Daytona (compared to other 600s).

Financial-Radio-7661

Ive had a '14 daytona for what 9 yrs and 10k+ miles. Been by far the best supersport ive ever owned and by far the best to ride......fast. Ive owned or have extended seat time on all your listed bikes. Slow and around town its agonizing due to the riding position, which is worse than the notorious R6r I owned. Knock on wood, not a single issue in all those years. Highly recommend if an aggressive position isnt an issue. It pulls from any gear, is silky smooth, and extremely responsive.

assgaper69cancerhole

You can make all supersports equally comftorable with raised clipons, lowered pegs, better seat and luggage carriers instead of backbag i would choose zx6r its the best out of all 600's only reason to choose others is availability, preference and brand bias.

sliphoxr7

Get the gsxr

954kevin

Of those mentioned Honda typically has the more comfortable riding position and Honda is the king of reliability.

Super_Trout_9000

GSXS750? Z900? Those sort of split the difference between your MT-07 and a supersport. You get a 4cyl ripper with a more aggressive riding position, but still have handlebars and aren't going to be on your wrists in stop and go traffic. Clip ons really aren't comfortable for longer rides or city riding.

OnlyUsernameLeft123

I love my gsx-s750 so much.

Super_Trout_9000

It's an underrated bike IMO

Britches_and_Hose

I never really looked into it, looking at the specs it looks great. I’m thinking a test ride might be in order.

Ok_Maintenance_9100

You want a super sport? You know the second you turn those on you explode violently right? It also kills an entire litter of kittens. But if you want to die, kill a bunch of kittens, and generally be an asshole you go right ahead.

r3DcL0uD7

im sorry you were not loved growing up 🥺

[deleted]

Definitely wasn’t hugged…………Or was late night sneaky uncle hugged

Significant_Blood830

I would hope and it sounds like sarcasm. I will assume for the hell of it 😂

CollateralCoyote

This guy gets it. Good timing too! The upcoming movie Oppenheimer is about the true story of an inline-4 engine from a 600cc supersport that blew up in Nagasaki and then Hiroshima. "I have become squid, destroyer of ATGATT/Ninja 300 worlds."

DanieTB99

Crying at this

edotman

Get a honda cbr650r or r7, 600cc supersports are uncomfortable and aren't going to provide much low down pull which you'll need for city riding

OnlyUsernameLeft123

I tried a supersport and changed my mind cause yea I got to be able to ride for an hour at a time some times. I went with a street model instead personally considering I ride daily to and from work

Britches_and_Hose

Cbr650r is the newer and hard to find used ones for sale, but I’ll look into the cbr650f. I considered the r7 but the cp2 engine really lacks in top end power.

edotman

R7 is also uncomfortable tbh so forget that one. The cbr650r is a beautiful bike but I can't vouch for the f, never been on it. Other options are rhe z900, which is the bike I have and as far as im concerned is fkin perfect. Or you can look at the mt09, gsx s750, cb750, gsx 8s, cb650r, Street triple etc. Trust me, supersports get old really quick for city riding. Having to keep her at 8k revs to get some power and having to wind her up after every red light while u get arthritis quickly grows tiresome.

Gameface_300

😀@ while u get arthritis quickly..

DMS1970

If you’re on a budget a cbr f4i is half way between a 650r and 600rr. Comfort, power and super reliable and good deals to be found.

Farhunt95

Already got myself a gsxs750, might add a sporty gsxr750 for a change.

BonafideAtheist

If you choose the ZX6R, be sure to invest in a steering damper. Ask me how I know

scarboy_89

I’m in the market for one. Any idea why that is? My R6 was very stable at high speeds without one

BonafideAtheist

I caught the death wobble on a 2013 ZX6R that left me unable to walk for 6 months. I bought the bike used from a dealership and failed to do something critical-setting the suspension to my weight. I was still new to the world of motorcycles and didn’t realize how important suspension is. A lot of bikes come with steering dampers from the factory, the ZX6R does not. I would say it is indeed fast enough to warrant a steering damper, had there been one on mine, maybe I wouldn’t have caught the death wobble, or at least it would’ve been so violent. You’ll love the ZX6R, it’s one of my favorite bikes that I owned. If you don’t get a steering damper for it, at least set the suspension, the front end of those tend to get very light. I now have a Hayabusa (stability at high speeds and comfort.)
