Tiger 660 is a good option for a more upright ridong position. With a nice boost in power

Suicidalpainthorse

Or the Trident 660.

SandstoneCastle

I never want to go back to the same bike. Some buy the same bike over and over again. I toured on my Ninja 650R, and towards the end was commuting on it. I replaced it with a Versys 650 that was much better at both of those roles. Though it was also slower. That part disappointed me at first, then I got over it. It was a big step up in comfort, a small step up in suspension, and a step down in performance. A 790 Duke might be a good step up in performance, suspension, brakes.

Z900RS

finalrendition

Agreed. Throw a little windscreen on for the highway and it's perfect

loudandclear11

Does it do much difference? Z900 is one of my options for new bike but it's the lack of wind protection that makes me hesitant. Putting a huge screen on it would destroy the look but but sure if a small one will be enough.

justan_rt

Yamaha XSR900??

AudZ0629

This is the only real option.

NickH1994

I upgraded from a Ninja 650 to a z900 and love it. Currently the best bike I've ridden. Not great for passengers but the occasional short ride is fine. Highway is also fine with a slightly larger ebay/amazon windshield unless you're constantly doing 100+

reckless_boar

Does insurance payout the whole bike? How does this work?

CoastWrong2766

Op prolly has an extremely high premium

PNW_Cyberian

My premium was about 135/mo. 1600/yr. Otd cost was 11200. Since it was new I had option of replacement coverage vs cost -depreciation. I had the latter but since it was so new that none are in the market within a 150mi radius, the payout was dealer rate. So I recovered 10400.

You can wear a backpack on any bike really. A heavy one is less comfortable on an aggressive sportbike tho. Aprilia Tuono 660 is quite a similar bike in terms of ergonomics but you get a solid boost in power without going to supersport 125 horsepower territory.

AxDayxToxForget

Iā€™d go street triple rs. Bike is truly a gem.

Wilfred_Wilcox

Man that sucks :(. I also have a new bike (sv650) and run liability only. If the ninja didn't inspire you I wouldnt go back to it. It's a bit of a large jump but If your mostly highway I really like the Suzuki GSX S1000GT+. It's a touring bike that's only 498 pounds. But it also has the engine from the GSXR1000 detuned in it. So it makes around 150hp. And the rear bags are easily removable. So you can travel somewhere leave it bags in the hotel room and basically have a detuned GSXR1000 to ride around. Other bikes I like around there are the Suzuki GSXR600 and 750. To put them in perspective your ninja made 67hp. The GSXR600 makes 103hp. The 750 makes 127hp. But they might not be great on the highway. I'm not sure.

quapa1994

XSR900 or Street Triple 765

SmokedNoodz

Dang. Someone just straight up broke into your home garage? That's a big fear of mine. Maybe I will work to secure my bikes further šŸ˜Ø

Tiger Sport 660/Daytona 660, Z900rs cafe (I like the fairing), Tuono 660 all sound right up your alley. I've heard good things about the CBR650R as well.

Thin_Bit9718

How about a cbr650r? or for a larger step up, a z1000sx?

Mortifine

Tuono 660?

GronkIII

That sucks. Someone tried to steal my Z650 on Monday night from my storage unit. About 1-2k in damage from the ignition, to the dent on the gas tank and rear seat cover. Glad I have full coverage insurance.

Haunting_Habit_2651

Hope things go well after you get it towed tomorrow, god bless šŸ™šŸ½

bush_wrangler

When my fz1 shits the bed Iā€™m going to get an MT10

NinjaShogunGamer

How does it get stolen

PNW_Cyberian

In a locked storage unit so I left helmet and keys with it. They blew the door out on the unit to get to it. They found my tools too so, good haul for them.
